Not sure? Last Thursday night he wasn't 4th, he was 3rd filling in behind Phillips and Wilson and did fairly well. Rick
-
What I meant by "credit" is that I choose not to dog him on his play as that's been done enough already. He's showing me a lot of character and heart despite the lack of playing time and it seems to be paying off now. Rick

GMG.com will again be taking your orders here for the 2006 Authentic, Custom Mean Green game jersey's. It's in the works right now. I don't have a date yet but just expect that it will be about the same time as the previous years, last May to early June. I spoke to as many of the players' parents as I could about this last Thursday night. Please pass the word to others you may know to watch for info here on this board. What I do know for sure is that the helmets and jersey's will be the same as last year. Most orders will be the green home game jersey and if we get a minimal order for white, usually 6, then we will also offer white as well. Stay tuned. Rick

I'm asking this, because, well I just know how our beloved NT runs. Our game, honoring the Andrew Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund is being played on a practice field instead of inside Fouts because of the "Race for the Cure" Cancer event had already reserved it prior to us. My question stems from recently finding out that most of the "Race for the Cure" events are 12 hour long NIGHT events. It was in Springtown and Azle last year. My wife not only is walking in the 3 Day Walk in Dallas again this October, but is also walking in the Springtown "Race for the Cure" event next month, and she's telling me that is a night time event. So, if "Race for the Cure" has Fouts reserved for Saturday, April 8th, my question is: Does Keith and the North Texas Athletic department know if it is also a night time event, which the GMG.com MORNING flag football game wouldn't interfere with? If it is a night event, I'm willing to bet the NT athletic department does not know this? Can't hurt to ask, right? I'm just trying to avoid us showing up to play beside an empty and quiet Fouts and everyone asking, "So why can't we play in there again?". Anyone know? Rick

Or Las Cruces. Damn those are two long drives. Rick

What the....? Wow, Tulsa has a snake charmer or two on their side to get OU into that crap hole of theirs. Let's hear the word "CAN'T" one more time. Rick

North Texas Classic I didn't hear anything about this. Strange place to host a golf tournament? Will this be our only sponsored event of the season? Rick

Yes, we do have just that someone who is an alumn. But you have to ask them...first. Rick -
I'm proud of JI for hanging in there these past two seasons. No one has given him much credit for his play at QB. But I'll give him his props. He knows he's caught up in a numbers game. But instead of getting down on himself or the team he seems to have hung in there, taken the criticisms, constructive or not, and tried his best and last night it paid off for him. That shows true spirit and I like it. He's a good kid and I'm proud of him. Rick

My favorite dish at the Taste of North Texas was again the baby back ribs from Roadhouse. Me and the F5 stuffed ourselves pretty good before heading over to the Green vs White game. JQ put on a show tonight at the scrimmage. WW looks real good and showed his speed. He threw a beauty to Muzzy down the middle for a long strike. Evan Robertson has some serious moves. He looked very impressive tonight. Germaine Dawson looked good at LB, flew around all over and made many plays. Overall it was a fun night with lots of scoring. I especially liked the nice touch added by the Talons having "Boomer the Cannon" and the Mean Green Victory Bell in attendance. Boomer sounded great there towards the end. You know he's doing his job when you hear people trying to get their breath back after he lets go of a good one. Rick

Yes sir! My first NEW vehicle in 21 years and loving it! Now when I have my kids in the truck I don't look like a refugee boat going down the road. Can't believe I put up with a single cap pickup that long? Rick -
I spoke with Andrews' father two days ago and he asked me to let everyone know that he and Andrews' family are very moved by the efforts of the Mean Green Nation here at GMG.com by honoring Andrew by establishing a scholarship in his name. He frequents the board when he can and appreciates everyones efforts in putting on the charity flag football game as well as those who have purchased the covers to raise the money. He said they too will again have their football camp at Bay City High School this year in Andrews' honor which will raise money to offer 4 kids scholarships of $500 each to help out with school next fall. Here are some photos of the Green powder-coated covers. Notice in the close-up picture at the bottom, I showed a comparison of the covers' color that I picked out to that of the lettering on the front of the 2005 Football Media guide? Nearly a perfect spot-on match to the correct Kelly Green. We got lucky there as the powder-coater dude only had 4 color versions of Green to choose from. I'm very happy with how these turned out as I'm sure their owners will be too. It really looks fantastic on the back of my White F150 4x4. There is not another set of covers like these out there so owners should expect lots of questions from other Mean Green Fans this Fall as to where you got them when you show up to the tailgate parties. I'm excited to see how the Chrome versions turn out. I still have 3 of the Chrome ones left and I'll post pictures of those when they come in next week. Rick -
He's at least bright enough to come back to Texas and QB the tU Longhorns, right? If Vince can add 1+1+1 and get 4, then George can too. Rick

Guinn I appreciate it Ward, however all the Green painted covers are already spoken for but I still have you down for two Chrome ones. I only held 5 of them back to be painted and they went pretty quick. I now only have 3 chrome covers left. I'll post a photo of a Green one tomorrow when I get home from the firehall. Rick
