Will NT be ready by the time another conference shuffle comes around ?

The Boise/Okie game a couple of years ago was one of the best games I've ever seen.

And he is from Dallas, I believe. Kimball High School, wherever that is. I think we got Tanner over UNT due to his wanting to run track at MT for legendary coach Dean Hayes.

I was surprised to see zero NT fans at our tailgate area. Usually we have many. We would have loved to host you, to pay back what your fans do for us in Denton. Best of luck in the future. It has got to be tough to handle. One thing we at MT have been fortunate about, is that we have never had a terrible season. We are most always in the 4-7 win range. Thing is, we cannot get over the hump. Keep your chins up, and good luck in hoops. It can only get better. Like I said on the SBC board, the SBC cannot be a strong conference without a strong North Texas.

Another thing that sucked for us was that Desmond Yates got his 2nd foul just 1:30 or so into the first half. He sat the rest of the half. We should be OK. We'll lose some we're supposed to win, and hopefully win a couple that we're supposed to lose, starting with VAndy on Monday.

Green played great tonight, and Hudson was rusty, but played decent. We hit 12-of-25 free throws. UT hit 20-of-26. We hit our freebies and we win the game before a sellout crowd. Disappointed, but glad we gave the Vawls a scare and have nothing to hang our heads about.

When do you guys play Houston Baptist? I was not really impressed with them, although they hung close in the first half with Marquette (in their first game).

I own an open airbox in the stadium, so visitors are welcome to come by before, during, or at halftime for a beverage of your choice. Again, you are also welcome to tailgate with us. We are doing "trash can" turkeys with a Thanksgiving-type meal. We take pride in treating our guests with respect, and rolling out the Royal Blue carpet. We aren't at the Cajun level yet, but we are getting close (I think). Hard to match that Cajun cookiing, however (they are the best). We'll have 100 or so folks at the Hillbilly Hilton tailgate. Hopefully, the weather won't be too cold. It was damn near unbearable in Bowling Green yesterday. My "nads" are still frozen

I just wonder, from an outsider, if the drug test would have been given if your records for the past 2 years would have been reversed? I too, applaud him for doing this. I guess if things were going well, there would be no "suspicion" of drug use, however.

The Sun Belt website is 1-aa'ish, at best. Most 1-aa websites are better.

Well, we did have the #1 non-conference schedule in the nation last season, and we had one of our top players go down in the first game last year. Our schemes revolved around this injured player, so it took quite a while to adjust. I do agree that the lopsided loss to TN was embarrassing. If we can stay healthy, and not have any defections, we "should" be lock for 20 wins this year. I expect the game at South Alabama to be a tough one, and any games with 7-footers (or bigtime true centers) we may struggle in (see FIU's center). But expectations are high in Murfreesboro right nnow, and that is a good thing. We were a basketball school not so long ago. With our football team struggling, I foresee a lot of bandwagonners coming aboard to see our team. It is rare that a team has "seven" starters returning--Boyd, Kanaskie, Yates, Hudson, O'Neil, Nigel Johnson, and "Duna" Green. Watch out for newcomer Eric Allen. He is the real deal, and will be in the starting lineup. I worry about having enough minutes to go 'round. I guess that's a good thing. Best of luck in the Wild West this season !!

Same here. If I want to see what's going on in UNT Athletics, I come hear to read FFR's and/or Emmitt's comments. Hope all is OK. Wish we had more folks at MT like those two. UNT fans have something special. I've met both before, and both as geniune as they come. I'd go to bat for either anywhere anytime.

We loves us some North Texas Just kidding. But we will "love" some North Texas if ya'll bring that beef brisket to Murfreesboro again (I think the guy's boardname was SoundMan). Very, very good. Hard to find good brisket in these parts.
