Great win. Pretty impressive with the loss of your two starters recently. As of right now, it has to be Mitchell for POY.

White had zilcho, nada, nothing.

Beatable on the road, that is. We are something like 53-1 at home (in the SBC) under Insell. I drove to the game last night-- MT's girls were crying after the win, Troy State's were laughing and having a grande-ole time after their loss. Wonder why we're 16-0 vs. Troy State in the Belt ? Our women missed something like 17 layups/one-footers per our HC. NuTS will still have to bring their A-game and 90 feet o'heat

I was at the game. Kermit was yelling at one of his own players, and the ref Teed him up. Thought it was a piss-poor call by the ref at that critical juncture of the game. Hopefully his new assistants will help him keep his cool (with the players and the refs) this season. I don't remember Kermit getting too many T's over the years, but that one hurt.

Peay will get plenty of wins this season. They've been playing without their best player, who got hurt in their first game, against us. He should be back by this Saturday against UT-obKNOXiousville Bad thing is that their RPI will not improve because they'll get into OVC play. They'll need to be Murray a time or two. I agree that this is not a good loss, but Peay was just playing their second home game of the season. Dunn Center is a tough place to play-- they get almost EVERY call. I think they pay the refs off there.

Denver / Middle Tennessee

Jones will be in the starting lineup, but Hammonds will get plenty of action. Hammonds is out right now with a stress fracture. 3rd string point guard Jimmy Oden came in and scored 14 points for us tonight, so it just depends on the matchups, I guess. I don't think Kermit will solidy a starting five the entire year. A guy I think who should be starting is Shawn Jones, who led the nation in blocked shots in high school. He is a big musular dude who looks like he can touch the top of the backboard. Cintron I think will be more of a "spot" player. He is a bit slow (stocky) and he is turnover prone (but if he's on, he's on). He had a bad game tonight. Kermit will leave Cintron in after a few missed shots, whereas he used to yank our guys pronto-- so that's a good thing. -

Walker is eligible now (he was not our first 3 games). He's been injured with plantar fasciatus (sp?) since the beginning of the season. He is supposed to play tonight at Tennessee State. Coach says his conditioning (i.e. game shape) needs to improve. I've heard he is an "average" player who will help out with some depth and defense, but that's about it. When is your frosh stud's first game ? -
What a special time in your history with the opening of a new stadium. This will be something that you guys will NEVER forget. Best of luck this weekend and kick some Cougar tail. May Boomer fire many a round.

I think the Sun Belt may be one of the Top 5 or so men's golf conferences in the nation. MT's only national title is in men's golf, back in the 60's. We had a guy named Larry Gilbert, now deceased, on that team that played many years on the tour (he won the Senior Tour in 97). -

MT inching its way up to 58th. Should be a good SBC tourney with UNT, MT, USA, and Denver

The free tour of the old Bath House is pretty neat. I would recommend it. In fact, I think the mineral baths are only about $15 or so. I may try it this year. I'll sit in the tub naked and wave through the window at SBC fans that are walking down the sidewalk

One question. If MT is Mediocre TN, then what is WKU ? W Kommonplace U ? Humdrum U ? When is the last time the Goattoppers beat us in anything ?

WKU will have to beat the refs, too, in order for a victory at Vandy. They will get most EVERY iffy call.

Gee didn't mention the 3 consecutive losses to Middle Tennessee whilst at Candybuilt, did he ? Then they dropped us from their future schedules. How 'bout Gee's doobie-smoking wife while at Vandy ? http://www.wheremostneeded.org/2007/07/million-dollar-.html . wife Constance smoked marijuana in the President's mansion (she said, for medical reasons). Mrs. Gee, who had received a tenured position at Vanderbilt as part ...
