  1. Should we know something today about the RFQ meeting?
  2. Anyone for the San Diego Chicken to come to town to help boost attendance? Anyone else with some zany off the wall ideas?
  3. Both top 100 area recruits. You gotta like that! GMG
  4. Or a Mean Green Letter day as it were! GMG
  5. Can anyone say why there has been no formal announcement by the University of this activity that is about to transpire? Can you shed some light, as I'm naive about the construction process?
  6. Sometimes speed is overrated. I saw a playoff game and came across thinking this guys just knows how to play.
  7. Does anyone know if Rex Burkhead of Plano is being recruited by us. He is a hard nosed runner like Mosely with more quickness in hitting the hole. I think he would be a great fit in Dodge's offense. What do you think? Has anyone seen him play?
  8. That is a pretty lofty prediction. I'm all for making it reality. I believe it can happen, if all parts come together as one heavy duty mean green workin' machine. GO MG
  9. Let's put this in perspective. If we can win in an environment like New Mexico State, a team that is similar to teams we play in the Belt. I must say I like our chances come conference play. Will anyone second that! Go Mean Green
  10. November 29, 2007 Vizza and next season The end of the season -- especially ones like UNT is in the midst of -- require some uncomfortable questions. This week I tried to ask a few. One I directed toward quarterback Giovanni Vizza. The freshman has had an outstanding season, but is also in an interesting situation heading into next year with the impending arrival of Riley Dodge, the son of head coach Todd Dodge. Riley is a quarterback like his father, one many will expect to start the moment he sets foot on campus. Vizza would be a hot commodity on the transfer market, but said this week he is staying put at UNT. It should make for an interesting position battle heading into next season. Feel free to post your thoughts here. What would be the ideal situation next season when both Vizza and Dodge will be on campus?
  11. If teams are going to make us shoot from the outside, we need to give more time to Thompson, McCoy and Dennis(when he gets back). I hope teams aren't just able to get in a zone and defeat us that easily. Development of the three players I mentioned is key to keeping the defense honest.
  12. WALMART in Denton has a section with a few choices of UNT merchandise. You will want to go out and get some. The only way it will be available in more places in Denton is if we buy it at the places you can find it. You know what you gotta do. GO MEAN GREEN
  13. Me and my brother are in.
  14. I was excited at the Defense we played at the last game. If we can contest every shot like we did, we will be in most games. Last year we had some lapses on defense. If our defense maintains its intensity, it could be a special year.
  15. I agree with Plumm Green. After the recruiting class that contained Buckles and Kennedy, we have not had many heralded defensive players. All the players that are playing are former Dd recruits. Give them time to get more recruits in. I'm afraid they will have to take their lumps next year, as this is a senior layden bunch. The future will be bright though, with time. GO MEAN GREEN.
  16. Maybe they won't have to look far for pt guard help if Horne shows something. Any thoughts on that?
  17. Was a First-Team All-District selection as a senior at Waco High School ... Averaged 24.3 points, 3.7 assists and 3.2 steals per game as a senior ... Named to the Central Texas All Star Game roster ... Also earned all-district and Super Centex honors in 2004-05 ... Averaged 18.2 points, 4.2 assists and 2.1 steals per game as for the Lions in 2004-05 ... A multi-sports star, Ronald lettered for three years in both basketball and football ... Member of the National Honors Society ... A talented family, Horne is the cousin of San Diego Chargers superstar LaDanian Tomlinson and Oklahoma State football player Damien Davis ... Son of Loretta and Ronald Harris ... Born Sept. 16, 1988 Does anyone know if he will walk on for basketball will try out for Football next year? He has some good bloodlines.
  18. Don't forget about Ty Rexrode. He was supposed to help the club as well.
  19. Do you know if we have any interest in a juco center except that Smith mentioned earlier?
  20. I'm concerned that this perception could hurt recruiting. I believe the coaching staff has the best interest of the players at heart. Perception of this in the media could be a tough thing to overcome.
  21. That last one makes alot of sense.
  22. Happy Birthday Rick. I guess it will come in handy as a firefighter to put out all the candles with the hose at the workplace. Have a nice day!
  23. I know he is injured. It seemed TD seemed to think of him highly before this. Is there any chance he returns this year? Any word on him. We could use some pressure off the edge.
  24. Patience is what is required. I believe TD knows talent(coaching and players) . I believe he hired the right guy for the job. It just may not reflect that this year. I can see why coaches get fired so quickly, though. So many have jumped off the bandwagon so fast.
  25. Give Mendoza time. Rome wasn't built in a day. I believe he will turn things around with time. We're all in this for the long haul. Lets not make judgements after four games.
