random thought, but after speaking with some Hospitality heads at a recent scholarship event, i am willing to bet that the JQH hotels that was mentioned not to long ago, and a student run Hotel lab at said JQH hotel, are in the very near future, as is the stadium. It will be a combined project. and I would be willing to bet that there will be an announcement very soon. It is just to fantastic of a piece of property to not be able to make money there. A big name like Embassy Suites could roll in a fantastic amount of advertising and money if the property is right, and that kind of name on the hotel, attatched to the stadium (naming rights) could be that Boon T Pickens, or whatever his name was, that so many think that we need. Just a random fact but over 100,000 cars and trucks pass that intersection every day, that is alot of eyes looking on the same thing, all held captive by the beauty of our stadium and the astonishment of the brand new hotel that they will be building there as well...... That is just based on what I have heard but it all makes to much sense.

You know what I liked most about that logo... It was so easy, when i was an anxious High Scholer just waiting to get into UNT, to draw that on my notebooks in history class instead of taking notes, it is simple, easy to look at, easy to draw and it shows to everyone who just glances at it exactly what school I'm pulling for....... hoo ray for such a fablous marketing idea by UNT glad that one didn't last

As a grad of that program I have been asking why we haven't taken over that hotel for years, all of the premier Hotel Management schools in the country have on campus student run hotels for educational purposes and the degree from that hotel is greatly respected because of that hand's on experience. I see no reason why the football stadium and the Hospitality Management school run hotel can't work together seemlessly. To me it only makes sense and it will just increase the prominence of school in football and hospitality management, win win situation!

As a graduate from that program I completely agree with this statement. UNT has a good reputation in the Hospitality field but if we ever want to grow that reputation further and compete nationally with the Houstons, UNLV etc.. in the overall value of the Hospitality degree, we need a real world experience venue like the Radisson for our students to learnand grow. Additionally it would be a revenue generrator for the School because labor costs would be very low... Besides if you tear down that hotel where will incoming football, basketball, softball teams stay when they come to Denton to play us?

You know, I have always wondered where the nickname came from. I didn't think that it was after Mean Joe Greene, but it is so close that it is easy to think that. What is the actual origin of the name?

I hate having to change the names on NCAA, it took me almost two hours when i first got the game and then two weeks latermy room mate and I had played four seasons and all those guys were gone, all that work was for nothing after that.... But UNT did win 9 straight national championship games and had 9 strait Heisman winners and 9 straight top qb's, wr's, and rb's! Then we got tired and had to stop...

I think that UNT has to be the most improved, we are in the right spot after two wins last year to take that title. Now as far as 6 being thebase line to show real improvement.... I don't think thats fair, if we win 4 then I think that is a sign of real improvement. Three isn't enough that could be a coin toss, but 4 is double what won last year, and I think that will show real progress

Man I miss spring break....... even though all I ever did during break was work, I still miss it. Oh yeah, I'm going out of town the week they get back from spring break, so no opportunity to see any practices either.

I guess being produced by the school as that piece i think was..... you have a very good point. If that had been written by Vito, I would continue with my first thought... The school could have focused on something a little more positive, the University is allowed to upsell where journalists, in my opion, shouldn't.

No it really doesn't, but is it an honest recounting of our history in that series and our recent opening day struggles? If it is then I say it is fair game. I didn't see anything blatently negative in that article, just the facts, Joe Friday would be proud.

It would be a huge OOC win for us to beat a BIG 12 school, and with all of the good things that have happened for us this offseason so far..... knock on wood.... and the obvious upheaval at K State, i tghink that a season opening ooc win could be in the cards

i personally think that is a fantastic idea. The SMHM school needs one of those to find a larger identity in the field which it is desperately trying to do. Raddison is refusing to spend any money on the denton property because it doesn't generate enough revenue to make it an economically viable idea. Naming rights would be good due to the oft mentioned highway location and with this idea not only does the athletic program get a donor that it desperately needs (Hilton, Marriott, Holiday Inn, etc) and so would the SMHM school! It would be a win win for all involved and not only would it help the athletic program it would also help the young, up and coming, and increasingly more respected SMHM school! Now could we find a hotel chain willing to spend that kind of money? that is a totally different question.

Now i know the equivilent of nothing when it comes to things like this but is it possible that our deal with UA could be something along the lines of we pay 1/3 the cost in stead of full price, maybe they just gave us the best price of all the big apparell players? because i would think that if we had a deal like hawaii then we would have known about it and who really wants to wear russell athletic?
