  1. Congressional information report in regards to War costs past and future Quote: (because i don't know how to do that whole scripting thing... "CBO Projections of Future Costs. Based on two illustrative scenarios assuming a more and a less gradual drawdown in deployed troop levels, CBO updated its projections for the cost of all three operations for the next ten years from 2009 - 2018 in September 2008. CBO projects that over the next ten years war costs for DOD, State, and VA could total ! $440 billion if troop levels fell to 30,000 by 2010; or ! $865 billion if troop levels fell to 75,000 by 2013.13" The war looks like it is going to cost us about half as much as al of the stimulous, bailout, TARP, etc...... over the next 1o years. I don't know if this was accounted for by the Bush presidency but I do know that it cost about 12.4 Billion a month to keep the GWOT, Afganistan and Iraq going during 2007, 08. so even if it is 150 + billion a year during the Bush years, that is barely 1/24000th of the 3.6 Trillion yearly budget being proposed by Obama. Obama Budget gets criticized by other countries "And also on Wednesday, Mirek Topolanek, Czech president of the European Union, condemned Obama's plans to spend the way out of recession as "a road to hell"." I thought that Obama was going to improve our relationship with countries in Europe and around the world? George Bush's final budget draws ire from Europe as well But is $500,000,000,000 smaller than Obama's! But to answer the question on Bush's budget accounting for the wars, "That claim of a balanced budget hinges on only $70bn in spending on the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, an estimate that even White House aides acknowledge they will exceed during the next fiscal year." Yes it did, but it obviously did not account for it enough.
  2. Great video, about ten minutes long, brings everything into focus a little and is NON PARTISAN.... Credit Crisis
  3. What are the names of our walk on RB's? do we have any?
  4. Hickoryhouse 6' (6'1 in the program please) 235 and progressively getting into worse and worse shape since i graduated in 06 Never been much of a athlete, although I did have a brief stint as a boxer... Kind of the block with your face but hit the other guy really hard style, so my best position would probably be where ever an out of shape large 27 year old who runs decently in very short stints and likes beer would fit, LB, TE etc I have never participated in the GMG bowl but I enjoy the idea of drinking beer and playing football at the same time, so this is going to be an experience! My one downside, you know... other than what i mentioned earlier in this post, is that until probably the week before I will have no idea if I am going to be in town or out of town thanks to work, so please draft me late so as to not destroy your team if i can't make it....... Like i was going to be drafted early HA!!! Shirt Size XL
  5. Now if only we could get Brave Combo out there....
  6. In the interest of full disclosure
  7. Denton has always had a strong music scene, Austin light some might say, even though there have been several artist of national prominence to rise out of Denton... I love seeing this, in the wake of the now defunct Fry St Fair this is fantastic! this town's tradition of musical independance can continue and with no thanks to the UNT music school.. That is fantiastic! Not to say anything abd about the college of music but this town has and always has had its own unique musical heritage, i am very happy to see it preserved and if I am in town I wil be at Nx35 now if I can only get them to hire the Tenacious 3.......
  8. We had such a spat over the outrage caused by Limbaugh and his audacity to say that he wished for Obama to fail... Perhaps there is a double standard, or perhaps it just wasn't reported. Whatever the case, this is very interesting.... James Carville.... as bad as Limbaugh? Just found this interesting based on how much more hated Limbaugh has become thanks to his recent remarks.... and the similarities found here
  9. That was a great game to watch! What a good time I had with that one! I am going to miss basketball, hopefully we can get into another tourney.... Here's to next season!
  10. no no no... you know very well that Pelosi and co. had nothing to do with this. The congress with the lowest approval rating in recent history, possibly ever, could in no way have anything to do with the downturn..... Bush was still in office, it is all his fault.
  11. No one? Really? By the way, I think Riley will be a damn fine Quarterback....... I really do
  12. I also like to cum laude, preferrably is a 69' Sorry I had a kevin smith moment
  13. We keep saying how talented our running backs are and hearing that they are being worked into the passing game more makes me very happy. Just get the ball in their hands
  14. Just a thought. this has been foretold..... So I said that it was going to happen soon... I was a little off
  15. I as well apologize for the hijack but I had... :( a 2000 SS with a Upgraded LG Motorsports intake manifold, small cam, ceramic hooker headers, and custom true dual exhaust. put about 430 on the ground and I could tick a 12.98 1/4 mi all day long down at Ennis The Cuda was a 66 plymouth numbers matching that i spent 4 years or so restoring. All numbers matching, 273 v8 and a little bitty 2 bbl carb. I had the Formula S high rise intake and a 650 quadra-jet to put on it but I sold it before I could make up my mind about wether or not I was going to install it and change it from original. That thing was slow as dirt but it got great gas mileage, 32 on the highway, had enough torque to rip up concrete but no horsepower to speak of. It was loud and beautiful... I miss those things
  16. I used to have one of those hot rods or two, SS Camaro and a rebuilt Barracuda, not a day goes by that I don't miss exercising my right to drive those gas guzzling b**ch slaps to green peace. They were so much fun....
  17. I am sure you realize this but I will say it anyway..... I don't think that was the point of the creatively written, fake, intending to point out an issue regarding the over-taxation of citizens, piece. It also pointed out the hypocrisy of the government officials mentioned in their efforts to increase taxation and their apparent lack of responsibility in paying their own. But due to the fact that this was a satirical piece, I am sure you knew that.
  18. ditto, agree, right on, exactly, correct, perfectly said, beautifully put, fantastically stated, etc... TO needed to go, Roy Williams was not going to be used correctly here and we know that because he hasn't been for years. I hate losing two big contracts but at least TO's money was contingent, for a lrge part, on recieving roster bonuses and we are going to save 1 mil on the cap by cutting williams. I am really going to miss Roy Williams, I for the life of me can't figure out why we never adjusted the way in which we used him. He is a god player and we are going to realize that as he is busting heads somewhere next year.
  19. Mine too. We are all very much going to miss that generation in a few years. Their patriotism will never be duplicated.
  20. They have the audacity of hope. They hope that they can Keep fuc**ng the American tax payer and hope they don't say something. I hope to god this isn't true. If it is true I can think of no better argument for starting the congress over with people in it that give a shit.
  21. I want to play and I am also in for a shirt. The sooner we can get a date solidified the sooner I can try to not be out of town. Stupid travel job
  22. I will definately miss Paul harvey.... That is one of the best memories I have with my fater was listening to the Rest of the Story! I will miss Paul Harvey... Good Day?
  23. I was listening to some guy on the radio yesterday who was talking ab out the intent of Obama's idea to tax the $250K plus crowd and what a greeat idea it is to create a system that takes from those who have more to take, he loved that Idea and thougt that the merits of it were flawless and that nothing needed to be changed about that. In his opinionthe people who have worked hard and are "rich" should pay the brunt of the tax burden. While I understand his idea, I don't agree with it, but I understand it. The funny part about this was that the guy lives in Manhattan and thought that special concideration should be paid to him due to that fact! I'm sorry but you can't go on a rant saying that the guy who earns more should pay more and then say that you don't think that you should be included because of the cost of living where you CHOSE to live! dousche....
  24. First, let me say that by no means is the Rush Limbaugh a hero of mine. He is entertainment as are the other gentlemen I mentioned. I was just making sure that we were being "Fair and Balanced" As far as not being blind to what happened, well the truth of the matter is that this crisis is not the making of one person, one party, one event, or one bad decision. Unfortunately it is the result of a collaboration of bad decisions on both sides of the aisle. The problem with playing the blame game is that nothing gets accomplished andno one comes out the better for it. Bush did a great many things that I despise, but he also did a few that i applaud. I am sure that we can say the same about most presidents in the history of our country. The blind hatred of Bush, and now Obama on the other side is silly and in my opinion is destructive to the forward progress that this country should be making. I firmly believe that the method being taken at the moment to try and guide us out of this financial situation is the wrong one. That doesn't mean that I don't think it can work, hopefully it will. I just think that we could have found a better way out of this than by spending almost $800 Billion, and then OBama gets in office and does the same thing, spends another $800 billion and now we are talking about another $410 BILLION, it has to stop somewhere, this is beyond rediculous. There is something to be said for the market.
