  1. It can and it will survive. So much for the good pitchig with the wunderkind holland getting roughed up a little. Great to see the offense though. And even better not to see glad, at least not until our pitching staff gets used to being decent
  2. That is actually quite beautiful.... Great shots
  3. I thought tat the CCowboys had it again this year.... or was that last year... I get so confused, isn't this the summer that TO is shooting his Reality show? I too love Hard Knocks, my previous employer was the hotel where the camera crew stayed last year when they were filming at the ranch, it was pretty cool to see how they put the thing together and I even got to see some of the unedited film on the days that they shot it. that... and one of the assistant producers was hot as hell, that's always nice too
  4. Good job CBL! and the Harrison Kid is only making 400k, so is Davis. To keep some of these guys we are going to have to spend a bit of money... I wonder if Tom Hicks reads this board? This is a huge series for us, we get Lackey on his first outing since coming off of the DL, he didn't have spring training so I am hoping that he is going to be pretty rusty. Lets hope that the Ranger's bats will wake up before the 9th!
  5. I don't get it either, I have never been a big Beatles fan, so this song is something of an enigma to me. Beach Boys California Girls was written in 1965, Back in the USSR was written in 1968...
  6. By the way, the game was only 2 Hours and 10 minutes.
  7. Walk off two run Homer by Chris Davis! wow!!! What a great 9th inning, down 2-0 then Hank Homers and then Davis. Holy crap that was awesome! That is two games in a row where Morrow has blown saves thanks to the Rangers being Awesome!
  8. Great point. There are alot of people that need to learn this less, and a lot of companies that could use this type of fiscal thinking, and our government (congress especially) could use this type of thinking in its business as well.
  9. Fantasia, Akira, and I will second Who Framed Roger Rabbit
  10. That gray area does pose a good question, I have no idea about the legality of that topic, and that doesn't concern me at all actually. I am not concerned about them being detained on US soil either. I actually, other than geographic location, see absolutely no difference between the two. Git Mo or some maximum security military facility in the plains of Nebraska who cares. As long as they are locked up, and our military and national defense can continue to do the job that they are tasked to do, including locking up dangerous people, terrorists, and trying to obtain information that could keep us safe.
  11. Great game last night. It is good to see Josh come back so strong, and his avg will come up soon. I am also a big fan of Hank coming trough. He is going to make fantastic trade bait when our young pitching staff fold and we need to get some new blood in here.
  12. I don't see one....... What is the difference?
  13. I think that his change of heart is showing that he might be starting to understand how this course of action has placed our troops in greater danger in the Middle East. I am glad that he is changing his mind but I think that this is a choice that he never should have had to make, on many levels.
  14. They are a good team this year, I think that they are about a year away though. It is good to see Josh come back with a big hit, and it is even better to see these young arms throwing lights out! Maybe it won't last forever, but this team is the start of something that could be great! The Mavericks made it back from being the laughing stock of basketball, the Rangers are going to do the same.
  15. That is awesome, the mistake of not knowing someone is dead and has been for 42 years.... Eh, they are right though, 42 years and a strict mid june deadline is not enough time...
  16. Preliminary agreements have the locally owned Omni Hotels running this facility. They recently opened the incredible Fort Worth Omni, also a convention hotel, and that building is only partially funded by city policy over there, the rest is from TRT Holdings and private investment by Bob Rowling. Private entities have had a hard time aquiring the land around the convention center thanks to it being city owned, and a great amount of push back from the local real estate magnates such as the Crow's and etc in this town. At this point Omni is going to be directing, controlling and planning the hotel and should do a fantastic job of doing so. They are a A+ organization from the top down and I see no reason why this hotel will not be a huge draw to the city of Dallas. Credit is not an issue for a hotel Chain such as Omni. They draw credit from themselves and the investment group that owns them. It is an incredibly genius setup.
  17. It moved? Awesome, I am going to go check that out. Thanks!
  18. Couple of things here. Flyer and OGS you guys are right about the need to significantly raise teacher salary, this way we could attract and retain qualified and intelligent teachers. My sister is an English teacher and I know that there are many many qualified teachers out there that are teaching because of an actual desire and love of children, our future, etc... On the other hand there is some truth, at this point, to the saying "those who can do, and those who can't teach" and we need to do something to reverse this trend. Also, as far as ESL is concerned, America can actually take a lesson from Europe on this. The Girlfriend is from a former Soviet State in Eastern Europe, after the revolution they started teaching all students english and another language of their choosing. This three language system was mandated, with English and the natural language as the focus, and there was no way around it. We do have foreign language teaching here but to me it seems as though it is a secondary idea implemented as an afterthought and provided to kids at an age that is to late for many grasp, comprehend and develop fluency. In TX, NM, CA, AZ especially I am convinced that Spanish should be core curriculum beginning in a comprehensive manner during 3rd, maybe 4th grade. For the native Spanish, etc. speaker we need to find a way in which English can be kept as the standard to which classes are taught, however ESL programs are to often not effective thanks to to many different languages being spoken in the same room which leads to confusion and a lack of learning. This country is predominantly an English speaking nation and the rest of the industrialized world seems to be heading that way too. If we cannot find a way to increase the English comprehension of our students then they will be left behind in and increasingly globalized world.
  19. Happy Birthday Fellas!
  20. I miss Bagheri's..... No pizza but damn good
  21. Just out of curiosity, what else would you base it on other than "potential or conjecture" We have no facts here, this is all a hypothetical at this point.
  22. I think so, they have got to have residency anyway, and student loans are a beating, why not? You can't just go straight from med school to private practice. The government could also mandate service if the student uses a government loan, similar to the way they mandate 20 years of service in the military if the Army puts you through med school. Why not make a stipulation that if you want to have a low interest government student loan for med school then then your residency + a couple years must be in this new "Costco" medical system. AFter that is over you can go to your private practice job and continue on in the normal med world if you wish.
