  1. Great game. Great show ggb. It is good to be home as I got here just in time to see the walk off hit and listen to a bit of diamond talk. Very exciting!
  2. Either thator Hamas didn't want an international incedent involving a dead US president, so they searched and found weapons that would be dangerous.
  3. Perhaps he realizes that his past few years have been substandard compared to his pay, and he would like to keep that pay.
  4. Exactly rigt, didn't he have the lowest ERA in the league during his last contract year? Then the rangers signed him for Ace Money!!! He hasn't performed, but he is this year, lets just give him one year deals from now on!
  5. Look at that, a solution that can make both sides at least satisfied, the government gets to intervene and the market gets the nod as who should fix the problem! compromise, wow.
  6. WHen the Bush Administration fired the 8 US Attorneys the media was up in arms and there was a head hunt, rightfully so, NY Times, the raw story.com, Seattle Times, CNN, Las Vegas Review Journal, ANd You can go on ad nauseum (sp). Where is the outrage over this? And just for some clarification as to why there should be at least a little concern with what is happening with Gerald Walpin the Inspector General in question ClimateScienceWatch.org tells us that the Inspector General is there to be a "watchdog" Additionally the requirements to remove the inspector general was also updated to preserve the enhanced role of the Inspector General. Don't forget this bill recieved unamnimous approval through congress, according to ClimateScienceWatch.org. Actual text of the Inspector General Reform act of 2008 Mr. Walpin was not given 30 days, and was not given a good reason.... Something is fishy here
  7. Perhaps I am just stoking the fire but Obama extends government benefits to same sex couples
  8. ABC is not being objective in its programming. An honest journalistic approach to this situation would be very simple, give air time to the opposing views that also have a place in this discussion. If ABC wanted to be intellectually honest they would do the same thing that networks have done for years and that is letting the opposition party have their time for a rebuttal presentation, much the same way that they do after the State of the Union, and other major political events. This is still a developing story, we might have to wait and see. I hope that ABC decides to utilize a little bit of journalistic integrity in this situation.
  9. Can I find that on the webste? While traveling I have a hard time finding rangers talk...
  10. Still of the opinion... Who Cares! This needs to be dropped, who really cares, and other than politics why does this matter?
  11. Absolutely histerical! The flute palying the imperial march was perfect
  12. If the market is asking for smaller cars then the market will get them. If the market is asking for larger cars then the market will get them as well. That is the point of the american system, we get what the market wants. I only hope that the government doesn't think that they get to dictate what people want.
  13. Exactly. Tasteful displays are great, people can believe and worship however they wish. Grandios (sp) displays are not. It doesn't matter what the religion is
  14. This entire thread is rediculous. We all agree that Letterman is past his prime and should probably go away, We all agree that what he said is horrible, We all agree that going after someone's kids is wrong There we go..... What else is there? No one is going to prove that he was talking about Willow, and if he was talking about Bristol she puts herself out there as a spokesperson on the topic of teenage pregnancy, like it or not she is a public figure now and is not above scrutiny or humor - even when it comes from a humorless Letterman.
  15. I disagree with you alot. But this made me chuckle. ...
  16. Just wanted to show my support for the mighty Quinn. He is currently in second place with 118 votes
  17. Texas wins 2 of 3 in Boston. What a great game, CJ Wilson strikes out Big Papi with 98 mph heat with 2 outs in the 9th for the win... damn.
  18. I was there, in January of 2008. On the top of the mountain, the glaciers are melting up there, I don't know why, and neither do the people there. But when you speak to the guides on top of the mountain that have been climbing that thing for 15-20 years, they are alarmed, concerned and a little frightened about what is going on with the ice. Snow is not the issue, the glaciers are the issue. There is about a one mile long stretch of barren land in the crater just below Uhuru Peak on the Kimba protion of the mountain that as recently as 5 years ago was one large glacier, now it is two smaller pieces of glacial ice. Glaciers retreating a mile in 5 years is not normal.
  19. It is not government run health care, just changing the way in which the government tells the Heath Care Industry how to do business. Regulations are not all bad. I like that the Government is not running the system, just playing in the game. I would like to know what the Affordable Access plan entails, that is a little awkward in that no details are given other than it would cap its costs at 10% higher than Medicare will pay. Where is the Government going to get the money for this plan? What stipulations are going to be put on coverage, are there going to be incentives for getting off the government run plan, can we make it like the welfare to work program where you get two years of government "Affordable Access" and then if after two years you are taken out of the program? This was stated to be a Draft of a Draft.... Additionally several mentions were made of efforts towards bipartisan cooperation in this effort. Lets give this a little time and see how it develops. We need to find a way to lower pharmaceutical costs, lower the amount of money being charged in lawsuits, or provide more stringent penalties for filing frivolous lawsuits and redesign the way in which the industry's cost structure is created. If adding an addition governmental entity is needed to achieve the overall goal of a healthy populous then we need to make certain that there is a plan to pay for it that doesn't include printing new money... Oh yeah, I am also a big fan of the emphasis on preventative health care. This country needs to fight obesity, and other preventable conditions and that, more than anything else, will help lower health care costs.
  20. Holy crap, Big Papi tried to steal second and was thrown out by Padilla.... He ran early i guess, and who the hell told David Ortiz that he could steal bases!
  21. when you have that much spotlight and that many people who don't like you, you need to take any precautions that you can. I fond nothing wrong with him having a food taster.
  22. So, with the AlGore making ridiculous money, along with Michael Moore and other proponents of the Global warming Theory, and now showcasing these guys, we have determined that there is money to be made on both sides of the issue. Good, now the money issue is a moot point. I am sure that there are plenty of good scientists on both sides that don't bias their science based on who is paying them. This article showcases 5 scientist, less than .08% of the more than 700 scientists who dissent the man made global warming claim, far from a majority and far from an amount of people to make any decisions by. The thing that we need to get back to is the science of the thing and the reality of the issue. I hate to use an article that had already been posted, but I still find it interesting, that and the links are full of very good information. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...5000117,00.html
  23. It was a fascinating article about a subject that I knew very little about. But there are definitely stupid people everywhere, I am sorry that that was their experience here, but one stupid person, or stupid group of people should not dictate the opinion and the attitudes of everyone in that culture. That stereotyping is negative no matter what group they come from or are referring too.
  24. There has got to be a better way to do it than to turn yet another major portion of the economy over to the government. Uninsured people are definitely an issue that deserves attention and we need to do something about it. I don't want the government taking control of it however. Good question is if the numbers in Rick's quite are accurate, and the true number of uninsured people who do not qualify for government assistance and can't afford there own is in the 8 million range, which is alot, why does the media, government and Michael Moore feel the need to lie about it?
