  1. The kid seems to be to be getting better as the year wears on, now I haven't been watching as much recently thanks to travel schedules and such but be had a great outing two time ago, sucked it up last time and then another great one tonight. I feel like he has been getting better as the year has been going along and at some point we have to let him take his lumps. We have gone through alot of that this season and we are still in the hunt. I know tomorrow is never certain in this game but we have been riding on hopes and dreams for so long this season that I don't see how it could hurt to put a little faith in the highly touted talent we have coming up.... Let them prove something when it counts, trial by fire i guess. I know that probably isn't the best option by I will take this over Padilla any day. It isn't that he was a bad pitcher, he isn't, it is just the idea that this team has worked together all season and Padilla has been the antithesis of that. Perhaps this could be an experiment in the actual value of chemistry.
  2. I heard somewhere that the world is run by "C" students...
  3. My brother is set to deploy on Sunday with a group of JSOC guys and some stykers.... perhaps they should hear about this too... Honestly it doesn't matter, getting mad at this would be lie getting upset that Wet n Wild changed its name to Hurricane Harbor.... It is still the same thing.
  4. Can't hurt... I know his BA sucks at this point but he is a threat with the bat.
  5. Bad choice by Ole, Jerry. I think that this might have something to do with the team's disassociation with the Ticket.... maybe?
  6. I don't like the idea of a national government controlled health plan, but I definitely agree that we need to determine the real waste in the system and fix what we already have. Medicare and Caid are not functioning properly and are definately in need of a financial Renaissance to keep them solvent. Why are we even debating on increasing the scope of two already failed programs when what we need to be doing is focusing on the evil that we already know?
  7. Theoretically the electric motor and even the fuel cell types of engines provide for instant torque whereas the IC engine requires increased rpm's and larger explosions to increase torque. That being said an electric motor consumes no fossil fuels whatsoever so the efficiency of that motor is infinitely greater than that of any IC engine, I would think...
  8. Three games with the Angels... wow, I am a little nervous. When do we get Kins back?
  9. I digress... Just because I love the Camaros and miss mine immensely, I have to disagree on your assertions of inefficient fuel management by that car. While if driven flat out you are correct, that car will burn a very generous amount of fuel as does any car that creates large amounts of horsepower, with rare exceptions. However, when driven conservatively I was able to get 28-32 mpg Hwy out of my old 2000 SS thanks to the well thought out 6th gear that GM installed in the vehicle. I could also get around 22-24 mpg in the city. It matters how you drive the car... Now back to the normal discussion.
  10. Do you have to be any good?... I shoot high 90's low 100's consistantly...
  11. There is a consumer demand for these cars, the Chevy Volt has been receiving great reviews and huge crowds at auto shows world wide, Chrysler is in the process of making one too... I feel however that all of these electric cars are just going to be a stepping stone or a bridge between normal petroleum powered vehicles to Hydrogen Fuel Cell powered vehicles... I digress, my point is that there is a consumer demand out there and the markets are responding, albeit slowly, to the growing interest in this market segment. The interest has been there for years, does anyone remember this ill fated attempt by GM back in the 90's?
  12. The most true thing that I have heard on this forum in a long time.... I have set up at least 5 NT grads, or soon to be grads and I have only had 1 prove to be a person with a decent work ethic and understanding that the bottom is where you begin and the top is only available to those who work for it. What I do not understand is how people can go to school, study in a field that requires work experience, and not get an entry level job in that field while in school. Then upon graduation they expect to be managers / leaders in that field. It seems to me that, especially right out of school, relevant work experience is the trump card in interviews not a degree, lots of people have those.
  13. Less that 18 according g to EPA estimates. My crap Taurus gets a out 15 on avg but the govt thinks it gets 21. Not eligible.
  14. As the only person in the office today this has been awesome! Thank you TTG, i have successfully wasted yet another day
  15. Very good point, my father told me as a kid that being respectful to the police was the best chance that you had to get out of tickets... I know that is selfish but who cares. I have always had my hands on the wheel when approached by a cop after being pullied over, always say sir or ma'am, and always inform when I an taking off my seatbelt or getting my wallet. I dont' care what the situation is but in my experience the police is there to help, and if they are responding to a complaint more often than not they do not want to cause trouble. The name of the game is respect and cooperation. I am not black though so maybe Prof. Gates has a point, i don't know.....
  16. I am nervous about putting him at the 5, but with Dampier having to play limited minutes this year, theoretically, he coud be a great small ball center. I have no problem with finishing a game with Gooden, Dirk, Marion, Terry and Kidd..... That seems like a pretty good line up to me. Howard has faded in the fourth for two years straight now and come crunch time I don't really trust that he can produce. though I hope he can prove me wrong. All in all this is a cheap signing of a player that no one really wantedbecause the mavs had to. Thats ok with me
  17. So what you are implying is that the guy shouldn't have been arrested but was because the cop has a thing against black guys... And that all of the other cops in the state, of whatever color, are agreeing because they are all cops? I think that we all need to wait until the audio tape is released, then we will know what actually happened. Does it matter that the other Cambridge officer that was there during the arrest was black?
  18. Talk about grasping at straws and trying to make something bigger than it is.. What difference does it make that the president had tickets while at Harvard... I am ashamed to admit it but I still have unpaid parking tickets at UNT, does that make me a racist?
  19. 1. OL/DL 2. QB 3. LB 4. RB 5. TE 6. Secondary 7. WR I agree with Kram, we have not had a TE to stay in giving us another lineman and help protect during crucial points and it has const us dearly and additionally the TE going out and making that tough 4 yard catch for the first down is amazingly important, a 5-10 175 WR is not going to want to do that but a 6-1 245lb'er might be a little more adept at taking the hits from the LB's.
  20. There were no stats for this back then but I remember throwing a perfect game on Baseball for the NES when I was a kid. I was freaking excited, can't imagine how Mark Buhrle is feeling
  21. Lockhart Texas has the word's best BBQ , Black's is my personal favorite, I have been eating there for more than 25 years now. I love it When eating black's ribs... that could be very close to god's country
  22. I just started my job and i start with 3 weeks, goes up a week every two years until i get to five. Besides, perhaps our longer work time each year helps lead to our higher GDP and such? Just saying...
  23. Great freakin game and we had great pitching from the bottom of the bullpen! Wow Nippert and Mathis combine for 1 run.. Who would have guessed/!?!?!
  24. My thought is why don't we fix the medicare / Medicaid mess that we are in. Then once we have fingured out how to manage what we already have then we can go about using that knowlege to fix what else is wrong. I am all for health care reform I just want us to do it intelligently and not out of fear, scare tactics, and other dirty politics. Trying to rush something like this through is just frightening... By the way Myth vs. Fact from www.gethealthreformright.org
