  1. I had a 98' v6 Camaro many years ago and after about $300 in random cheap mods and free mods, like cutting out the air box for fake "ram air", I was able to embarrass the GT Mustangs of the same year from stop light to stop light, that 4.6 L v8 is a piece of crap and always have been. But then again Ford doesn't really have to get to serious about it because there hasn't been a real competitor in terms of sales volume for years and years... makes me sad that such a waste of engineering is the affordable American sports car that the world sees.
  2. Even as a die hard GM guy I have to point something out that will further derail this conversation... The Thunderbird was originally built as a counter to the vette in the 50's and failed in that quest, the more recent version was not in any way aimed at that lofty mark. The GT40 could be compared to older racing corvettes such as the late 69' ZL1 etc, but in all honesty they were different types of cars and by the time GM came up with anything close, the 69 ZL1, the GT40 had ended its reign of supremacy with 4 consecutive Le Mans 24 Hour victories (1966-1969... 1967 was won in a Ford GT MkIV, another version of the GT40). The Corvette competed in the same races but did not come close to the same results: 67' DNF 28th place in a C2 Corvette, 68' DNF 27th place in 68' C3 Corvette, 69' DNF 22nd place in C3 Corvette In regards to the newer Ford GT, that car was not meant to compete with the modern Vette either, although the performance numbers were strikingly similar when compared to the C6 Z06. The GT was built as a low production number, rare and exclusive "super car", while the Vette continued to be built as a high performance car for the masses. Prices, exclusivity and prestige all go as checks the in the Ford GT's column even though it could be said that the performance bragging rights go to the Vette based strictly on the cost of the two vehicles. Here is a comparison of the 06 Z06, Viper and Ford GT done by Automobile Magazine. You are right, Ford has never built anything that can compete with the Vette, but other than the original Thunderbird I would argue that they have never tried.
  3. Of course it will be... I would say that anywhere would be an attractive job is the $ is right... I am concerned that the money won't be right and we are going to be stuck with the same $ to offer that we are paying now, that won't cut it with the fans... I sitll think the only reason that Dodge stays is $. We just can't afford it, if we could then we would have already pulled the trigger I think.
  4. Coul just be me but this sounds exactly the same as what was going on while the previous administration was in office, just a shoe on the other foot type of deal... People were saying that Bush was going to reinstate the draft amongst many other hateful and spiteful things while he was in office just because they didn't like the fact that their guy lost. I don't see a difference. I really don't.
  5. term limits.... no one gets this kind of clout.... term limits....
  6. NT 38 WKU 24
  7. interested yes, even close to being possibly half way decent at basketball.... no
  8. He was a Bruin but he began his college career at OU and transferred to get playing time. He broke his ankle playing his freshman year and lost his starting job when they won the national title playing the wishbone with another QB.
  9. probably been covered before but what the hell... Would you rather stay in Fout's if UNT were to build only a 25K capacity stadium?
  10. I have been putting off watching that, but it truly is a great reminder of what it is to be a member of the "Mean Green Family"! Regardless of the way the Football team plays I am definately proud to be in the family. Doesn't mean we can't be ticked off at the performance of the current football team though....
  11. Holy crap.... yes we do....
  12. What pissed you off about it? The factual nature of his Levi Brown record breaking day? the fact that it took only 3 quarters to reach the record? The fact that he correctly mentioned the 6 game losing streak? The fact that the tone of the fan based has drastically changed from then to now? Where in this article is he rooting for us to fail? I don't see him "actively rooting for [our] failure" I see a writer accurately portraying the state of the team, and of the fan base. There is nothing wrong with that. If we were riding a 6 game win streak and he wrote of unbridled optimism and excitement surrounding the team would you be just as pissed off? I doubt it. This sucks, we all agree. But it isn't Vito's fault...
  13. please please please please please.......... I sure hope so, there is no reason we should lose this game, but then again even without going to their board I know they are probably saying the same thing....
  14. I haven't paid as much attention to basketball as I should but that writeup makes me more than a bit excited about the season!
  15. You have to love that the administration gave themselves an out. I wouldn't mind keeping Dodge as an OC, however he would be quite an expensive one in the Sun Belt. Any idea if they could reduce pay if they reassign him?
  16. Caught on camera eating a hot dog
  17. The real question here is what would the cost be if we let TD go? How much money would it cost to buy him out or would he accept and OC type of role? What about his assistants? How much $? I don't think that the administration is taking this lying down, I just think that their hands are tied thanks to monetary restrictions of the contracts. The Student fee hasn't gone into effect yet and they are having enough of a hard time funding the new stadium to begin with. Where the hell are they going to get the money to buy out one set of coaches and assistants and they turnaround and pay a new coach and his assistants? And we are going to do this and try to get better?! I don't think that it is economically feasible at this point. Dodge's team has been showing improvement, not enough mind you but improvement just the same. IF we have to wait it out due to money then lets wait it out with a positive attitude and continue to support, attend and try to enjoy some Mean Green Football!
  18. Don't know if he is going to sue but he has been able to get retractions apparently.
  19. Best point so far. It would have been a horrible decision for the Rams if they had accepted Rush based solely on the perception that players have of the man. Whether or not that perception is accurate is a completely different subject and one that is completely open for debate. The way the NFL handled the issue is also sketchy to me but at least for the Rams, the best decision was made.
  20. Theoretically in the noble profession of journalism, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore and both sides have their opinions of that idea...
  21. I think there is definitely some truth in there, the lack of a single bill to look at makes the debate full of hyperbole on both sides. If we could get one bill then we would all have some common ground on which to pull from and we could have a constructive debate about the facts, not the assumptions, for both sides.
  22. I didn't realize enforing immigration laws was a bad thing... Isn't it called "illegal" immigration fro a reason?
  23. Great question, ... Dat Nguyen? I don't know but if we go with my proposal we are basically writing off the season anyway.
