  1. I can think of worse things to have to wait for....
  2. this waiting for BYU to hurry up and win is getting old. I am getting a bit ansy....
  3. Norm picks UNT and the points, says he thinks we can hang with K State....
  4. laptop computer + free wireless at the bar = work and watching the game!
  5. Started work early so I can go watch the game and wearing the green! Three different shades of it I think, but that's not the point! Go Mean Green
  6. Gotta agree with yyz28 on this one. GM has had a recall thanks to admitting a problem and wanting to nip it in butt before things get worse, Toyota on the other hand has known about the issue, people have died, and still wanted to do nothing about it until forced. Not exactly what I would call an apples to apples comparison.
  7. That sounds like a good home and home sched. I like seeing Tech come here and seeing JJ's own LSU have a home and home is nice too. Should provide for some big games at the pit.
  8. I would have to say that Sean Bass does a good job during the tickers... Besides, aren't the tickers all that matters anyway?
  9. I am so glad that Vito is back. His recent work has been a breath of fresh air and reading some of these columns has done nothing but make meproud to be a member of the Mean Green Nation. Big Shot Josh Modest UNT Has Reason to Boast UNT Fans Send of the team to the NCAA Tourney And then not all Vito... Josh White topic on DMN I am happy he is back but I wish him and his family my best during this difficult time. I can't help but feel that Vito has a nice soft spot in his heart for UNT and that maybe, in some small way, the distraction of the UNT in the NCAA tourney might help with the hard times. Thanks Brett. ps. sorry if these have been posted before.
  10. I once went to Juarez to grab a beer when I was in school and I haveto admit that even 8 years ago it wasnot a place that I would ever want to visit again. The fact that violence is getting worse, and that place was already not exactly what one would call safe, is an isue that is going to have to be tackled by the Mexican government very soon. There isn't much that the US can do about an unruly town in Mexico. When that violence reaches into the States that creates a heck of a gray area. What does the Mexican government want us to do, what will they allow us to do. That is their territory and our expanding our influence into our sovereign ally's territory , even if it is to protect our citizens, is dangerous for our relationship with Mexico at best. This to me seems like a border protection issue on our side and an over problem for the Mexican government. We have the ability to make the Mexican government's life harder through economic means but outside of improved border patrol what can we really do?
  11. I agree with you about the tone of the author but I think that JJ and RV did a good job of diffusing that idea, at least a little bit.
  12. +1
  13. Perhaps it is justified, but thats not the point. Remember the old ethical argument of "do the ends justify the means?" To me this is the perfect application of that old conundrum.
  14. On e again let me say I think the woman is nuts, but in the interest of following through on my previous post here is the quote in it's entirety: " “You’ve heard about the controversies, the process about the bill…but I don’t know if you’ve heard that it is legislation for the future – not just about health care for America, but about a healthier America,” she told the National Association of Counties annual legislative conference, which has drawn about 2,000 local officials to Washington. “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it – away from the fog of the controversy.”" from politico.com http://www.politico.com/livepulse/0310/Pelosi_People_wont_appreciate_reform_until_it_passes.html
  15. +1, that made me laugh
  16. Not trying to stick up for Pelosi, cuz I think that she is batshit crazy and that quote is a little damning in itself, however... Using 5-10 second soundbites to prove a point is just awkwar. Yes, the point you are trying to make might be true but it seems to me that the bits around that phrase in whatever 5 second clip we see are cut off because perhaps they didn't prove the point the editor was trying to make. For example, yes 35 million people in the country don't have insurance, but are all of them the people in a bad way, can't afford it, can't get coverage, to old, to young, to poor that the administration keeps claiming? No. But that 3 second soundbite is being used over and over and over to further an agenda that not everyone agrees with.
  17. Does anyone have, or know where to find, Jub's call from last nights Championship win? I have been traveling all day and can't get dallas radio or find the dang thing online. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  18. My early morning meeting out here in Salt Lake City is going to get a big dose of the Mean Green tomorrow! Thanks Smitty
  19. In Football, yes. In BBall, not so much of a difference.
  20. He needs to foul that guy a lot harder then that!
  21. What was the foul there under the basket?!?!?
