Lance Dunbar takes the snaps from the wildcat for the rest of the game
-
They have SMU listed as an interest and an offer out to him. After the b*tch fest they had over there whe we landed our most recent recruits I think that the response from them would be all the more enjoyable if we were to land mr. Petteway as well!

Why was tune sitting?
-
Well that sucks. My old man can't make it and is really excited about this team after last week. Look like I will be telling him to tune into Jub and Hank on the radio.

Is this thing being broadcast locally?

I think that we need to think about the versatility that Canales is installing into this offense. The wildcat formation could b deadly with Riley taking the snap. Tyler Stradford is here and almost immediately is in the conversation as we look for the next Johnny Quinn or Fitz. Our o-line whether overrated, which I doubt, or as good as advertised has another year together and understands how to play together. I feel very confident that with Canales providing the leadership and creativity this unit is going to thrive!!! Our issues come In with the defense. Deloach needs to prove something his year. I know that he already did in 2003 but what did our top ten defense net coach Deloach after that? A job as a position coach at UCLA. Why? No doubt he is a good coordinator he has shown that here before. It is time for him to show us again because this is, or at least should be a what have you done for me lately business. With 9+ returning starters and all these juco guys he should be able to do that. Our season rides on our defense plain and simple. Our offense can be the best in the NCAA but if we give up 35+ a game it won't matter. My.02

I think this is great! What a day for that kid! It sounds like he was a pretty good receiver as well!

I seem to remember there being concern about the new athletics fee instituted recently for the construction of our new stadium and how long it could stay around. Something about once the stadium is paid for the athletics fee goes away and we are back to the old ways of money collection? Can someone shed some light on that for me? My thought is that if the athletics fee is only viable if we are paying off debts, could we use the money coming from that source as collateral to open up a new line of credit for a new baseball stadium? If so would we be able to keep that athletics fee around due to that new debt? If I am right, and I am sure I am probably not or at the very least missing something very important, then we can keep the fee indefinitely as long as we continue to upgrade facilities or build new ones, correct? I would imagine, if this is the case, that we are waiting to complete our football palace before beginning the discussion of the baseball rumors here at UNT, and that the Baseball project could be used to extend the athletics fee. Off season random thoughts... sorry for rambling or asking repetitive questions.

Tramiel Makes Mavs Summer League Team
hickoryhouse replied to NTerock's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Perhaps our young star will end up in Europe for a couple of years... or on a D League team? I don't see him on the Mavs this year, especially if the coach isn't playing our MVP... -
RV is going to determine after the season... he hits 6 wins I think he is back at least one more year, hell if he hits 5 wins and we are competitive and close in the games then I think he gets another try at it too. If it is only 4 wins and he loses all of the other games by a combined 14 points then I still don't see him coming back next year.

Which Player Would You Like To See Do Well
hickoryhouse replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I am hoping that Riley has a great year. He may not be the QB anymore but he is still a leader on the team and his attitude, assuming that it is still has that positive won't quit spirit since his injury, is a huge asset to this team. -
I like that dodge mentioned that the added weight improved his arm strength, I was nervous about that from Tune.

That is the best part. Nolan Ryan needs to be a part of this thing going forward, I am scared that with out his influence on the team it will revert back tot he ways of the past decade and that is unacceptable. Nolan Ryan is the one piece of this puzzle that NEEDS to be there..... I wouldn't mind having Cuban along for the ride, and if the worst happens and Nolan is not going to be involved I think that Cuban is the guy that I think that can keep the boat steering in the right direction...

I have been a huge Hooya fan, and have been eating there as long as I have know aabout them, I think I had my first Hoya in 2001? I don't get there as often as I used to, probably only once in the past year or so, and it isn't the same as it used to be. There could be many different reasons for that however... As for Freebird, I like that place too. I think they have a great product and a greatatmosphere. I hope the Hooya is up for the challenge because I would hate to see that place go under...

Sounds like a kid who is very excited to play for the Mean Green from a program that has a good history of producing talent! I can't wait for him to be pulling down interceptions in 14-15 months! Lets hope that we have a great season this year that gives him a good reason to want to stay with us. GMG

It feels like it is different every other time I log in... love it! constant change means you never know what to expect. Great job Harry!

Take out the 11 game win streak? Thats part of their record this year, you can't really take it out of the equation.... and if you take out the last two series we lost where will we be? If you look at things that way you can take anything out of what we have done to make the team look how every you want. The truth is the Rangers are 14 games over .500 and kicking the rest of the divisions ass! They had an 11 game win streak, shouldn't that be indicative of how good they are or could be, or do you think it just dumb luck? I think that this is a great team that needed a bit of a push to go forward. Don't worry about tonight, Lee will come around and this team is going to have a great second half! love this trade...

Benton Texas and Jeff Tune ruin his credibility... however i do like his tone and optimism.
