I love the student support that we have seen recently but it isn't that rabid fan base that you seem to be envisioning. Until we have that, I like the idea of the band being right there blasting trumpets into the skulls of those who oppose us.

I like the black in Th uni. Not all black ala Dickey, but some black. I think it's a good look. My only hope is that the helmets use the SOW or some sort of drawing, preferably the SOW. Something peoe can draw, something distinctive, something memorable. Scripting the name of the school screams high school to me.

Bowen's WKU Bio Young guy coming off of a great success at Kansas then going to WKU... What heppened there? Why did he go to WKU? All in all I like the hire, he looks like a solid college coach with experience designing defenses against some of the best in the business up there in the Big 12!

I am only 15 minutes into this presser... and holy Sh*t! I am entirely sold on this guy! After the Chico hire he was up big, but hearing him talk about the city, and filling the stadium, about longevity as a coach and building a program, about passion for the school, the city and the community I am more in than I already was. I was in... Now I am PUMPED! I can't wait for this recruiting season... I can't wait for practice... I can't wait for next season... This feels like a much more professional program in 15 minutes than it has in almost 10 years. GO MEAN GREEN and GO Coach Mac and Chico!

I want to hear him be genuinely excited about UNT and our football program. I will be happy if I come away from this conference having a feeling that he is where he wants to be and convinced he has a passion for the university. If he can provide that I will be happy

I was a canales guy this whole time but I lik this hire. He has the experence we are lookin for, he is a Fry guy which is huge, he has. National championship ring to show off amd he is a defensive line guy and we all know how much we have been praying for a stout defensive line! Hopefully the lack of support I am reading is just blowing off steam. If so I understand it, your guy wasn't hired and everyone needs some time to vent about it. But after the dust has cleared we are still UNT and coch Mac is our new guy. We all have our little disappointments but sour grapes is a crappy reason to not support your school.

Listening to Chico on the radio right now is amazing. I want him here. I want his passion and his desire. I want a coach that wants to be HERE!!!!! Not a coachthat just wants a job amd doesn't care where. I think Chico is out guy

Just out of curiosity... How old is too old for our new HFC? Are we looking for a long term guy or just a guy to jump start us before retirement?

Ok... I know that it is early to be discussing this and we should be enjoying this, so far, amazing BBall season... But, after this season is over and assuming that we are competitive, winning the sunbelt and getting that elusive win in the big dance, what happens to Our Coach...and he is Our Coach! I know he had the extension recently, but I also know that he is turning heads all over the country. What does the athletic fee do for Coach Jones? Is it possible to extend him with a better extension... redundant... We have been asking 'what do we do to keep JJ?', is it money? Is it prestige or potentialthat he wants? If it is money how much money does that require, or how much can we afford? Does the answer to these questions depend on the results of the UNT Head Football Coach Sweepstakes? If we pay $800,000 for a HFC do we have any money left for JJ? I am hoping that RV has been thinking of this because our BBall program has progressed further and faster than anyone could have predicted and the architect of that ascendancy looks like Cipro to a big time school's bball program after receiving an anthrax letter.... Should we, are we, making sure that our budget is not stretched so thin that JJ loses out after the new HFC hire?

I know we are all "homers" but come on!! To lay the Benedict Arnold on the guy is a bit extreme..... The beat thing we can do is say go Collin!!!! Obviously you are the best SMUt recruit in years. Hope you enjoy your time there.
