  1. breakdown was awesome! Going to make watching the game much more interesting knowing a little bit about their tendencies
  2. This can't be right..... Their left Guard is 213 lbs? Mason Y’Barbo, 6-2, 307, Jr. LG Nathan Shienle (6-5, 213, Fr.-R)
  3. The student wasn't sent home, just asked to turn the shirt inside out. hardly grounds for "retaliation". great job by the Prof, that's how you grow school spirit, has to start with the school.
  4. How about that, the Daily is educating the student body on turnover margin!
  5. I have people from UTSA coming up to see the game with me that weekend. They are going to have a good crowd there.
  6. Don't wanna jinx anything..... /superstition, superstition.....
  7. This is so much better than the random ESPN plus game on local tv... having mark followill and Brian baldinger beats the hell out of drew Henson anyday. and the production quality is off the charts in comparison
  8. Loved watching the episode, such a great tool that we have here. like nothing we have ever had before. I am happy that our AD is doing something to get us out there. a win will.make it even more fun to watch though.
  9. Of course the fact that we couldn't run well means we will be able to pass well automatically, right? They were averaging 7.9 yards per attempt while we threw the ball only one less time than them and was averaging only 6.7 per attempt. Either way we slice it, running or passing, their defense held our offense down much better than ours did against them. This is not to say it wasn't a close game and that we had a great chance to win, just merely a statistical observation.
  10. Speaking of WAY oversimplification........ glad to know that all we have to do is pass it at least as often as we run it on 1st down and we are guaranteed a win. Why did no one ever think about that before... Pot, meet Kettle
  11. Haven't read a green tinted game preview in what feels like years.... I enjoyed the heck out of that.
  12. Biggest game this week, that's for sure!
  13. I am pretty sure that over the past few years we have had this same thread about our team... Nice to be on the other side for once
  14. I could have sworn I heard George say we had only 17 punt return yards all last year... What a difference a year can make
  15. I got him in the last round as well. Should be good!
  16. We are in a "rebuilding mode" ro should be here in Dallas. If detroit decides against keeping him what would the odds of Dallas scooping him up? we need big men, we need young talent with high upside and we need cheap. He would definitely fit the bill in all three ways. i know it is probably a long shot but I am going to keep hope alive....
  17. A big season in CUSA this year could help us get a few more guys like mr. Orr. What a great honor.
  18. That makes me sad........
  19. Aren't we in conference USA? International outreach people... We have to get our brand or there, we want conference USA to be all over the world!
  20. I say "North Texas" as well. The letters, while much different than those that they are confused with, don't convey the sense of individuality that the words do. I like saying, "I went to North Texas". I feel like it is easier to isolate my school that way than by asking the ignorant masses to separate us from the overabundance of directional satellite institutions out there. North Texas sounds proud to me.
  21. That is interesting... Obviously there are huge positional differences, but all of these guys are proud and competitors.... You would think that the allure of playing time would entice at least one.... Not that they get to pick their positions, but all that size sitting on the bench seems like a bit of a waste doesn't it?
  22. Where do you live/family: Carrollton TX, Wife of 1 year and 2 big yellow dogs Degree/Year attended/graduated UNT: graduated 2006 Hospitality Management with business minor Favorite NT Memory: Too many to list, not appropriate most of them, but Living on Hickory street less than half a mile from Fry in a really old house with my three best friends for three years, don't think it will ever get much beter than that. Favorite NT Sports Memory: Tearing down the goalpost after rushing the field early in my college career. It was a great day when we clinched the conference title and carrying the goalposts around the field, then to the admin building to light the tower and then on the Fry... That was an amazing night.
  23. ESPN analyist for mainly big 12 games currently. according to wikepedia anyway.
  24. I am reading this late, but don't have the patience to get to the end of the thread before commenting.... What was the timeline given for DM success when TD was fired? how long did we think that it would take? anyone willing to do that research on the board? I would feel very comfortable saying that most people thought, similar to how we thought after DD, that it would take a few years to dig us out of this hole that has been dug for us. DM has done great compared to the filfth that we have been watching for the previous 5... no no no ... 6 or 7 years?!?!?!?!?!? I don't give him a pass on in game decisions nor do I give him a pass on not addressing key personnel issues but the man has done more with what many deemed "scraps" or a bare cupboard than were immediatly thought. This time last year we had high hopes and bright outlooks. i still do. I see a coach who doesn't look like a fake, who holds himself up as a real D1 coach with real tallent and real skins. He even has a Nation Championship ring to show for it if I am not mistaken. Take yourselves back to three years ago... take yourselves back to that great win at Ball St............ Ball St.... what an amazing win that was! what a horrible level our program was at. how low was it then, how deep did we get, how hard is it going to be to climb back? patience is a virtue that few posess (sp), do we have it as a fan base? can we take ourselves back to where we were? i think that we have made progress, we have an actual S&C coach now... a staff with actuall skins on the wall and the facilities to back up the faith that we have in them. UNT90 is right, next year is the measuring stick, it is the test. Next year we get most of the way past the recruiting hole left to us, we have years to sell the new stadium and years to implement the new DM system. He deserves 3 years before a cross is built with his name on it.
  25. Of course this thing has problems, thats the HC's job to fix. 6 Games is a good number of games but it isn't the entire season. Benford will get the rebounding and defense on track. We need someone to step up to be an additional offensive threat outside to give Tony some room underneath. But the staff and the team know these things. I, like everyone else here, is a bit underwhelmed by the start this year. But it is only the start. We can still come out of this like champs. Give it some time, relax and try to enjoy the ride. This should be a good team and I believe that it will be. We can't ignore the isues that we see but at this point in the season we can't get derailed by them either. Have some faith in the life long basketballer HC that we hired and that everyone of us was excited about. He knows what he is doing.
