  1. Very good article, and I must say it's been a tremendous pleasure watching #5 play.
  2. North Texas: 28 Army: 24
  3. Thompson brings a ton to the QB position and I think we'll reap those benefits these last 10 games. I'm guessing Tune didn't lose the QB position out of camp and you have to honor the Senior if he does that. But Thompson is clearly gifted athletically and hopefully he can couple that with sound decision making and we may have our best QB in years in Denton.
  4. Word is that Javia is academically ineligible.
  5. That about sums it up. 6:00pm tomorrow is going to be lots of fun!
  6. Can we kickoff yet? That last comment gets you fired up for gameday Saturday!
  7. North Texas 37 Rice 24
  8. Anyone know if the Todd Dodge show will be happening today at Pourhouse at noon?
  9. Miller is on the Travel Squad for this week or just the global roster?
  10. That's a nice website and take on the game.
  11. Don't know for sure, but it probably has something to do with the grade of the land and the fact that the Eastern bleachers are being 'built in' to the side of the hill more so than the West side.
  12. Only concern about that video was that we had about 55 points on the board early in the 4th quarter last year against WKU...
  13. Liberty Christian Warriors at Pilot Point Bearcats
  14. Screen to Dunbar right behind an oncoming DeQuan Bowers. Draylen Ross levels DeAndre McDaniel in the open field and Dunbar goes 20+ yards as the WR's actually block this year downfield...and then the second play what you said. I don't like a ton of slow-developing plays against a talented Tigers Defense. Quick hitters are good and screens to slow the rush down.
  15. This guy is hilarious.
  16. If they can play I hope not. That mentality is a part of what has caused the lack of success by TD. The Clemson game should be the Super Bowl for North Texas. Now, I agree being smart with personnel and not sacrificing the season just to have a shot a Clemson as that's a given. But, we need to go into Clemson with the 'renegade' mindset of having nothing to lose and and a chance to make noise. In these games the past few years, Dodge has conceded the game before the whistle ever blew; and that cannot send a positive message to your team, so they just lay down and try to get out healthy, shorten the game by running Cam Mongtomery into the middle of the Bama Defense for 3 downs and punt, etc. It's a shame. Go in there and try to win the thing. Pin your ears back and give them your best shot. If we're ever going to make headway that type of mentality Dodge has (thus trickles down to his players) has got to change. I hope Dodge can grasp that because this year's bunch has talent, but if he doesn't this team will not live up to it's potential and he'll be shown the door come December, and we'll start off by getting blown out at Clemson.
  17. Good publicity for Lance and North Texas. That's a nice list for sure. Susprised to see Sam McGuffie not make the list as he's bound to be a top 10 guy in the state (I did see him mentioned with the other Rice guy, but...).
  18. Where's Jamaal Jackson in this mix? Thought he was supposed to be back for Clemson? Darius Carey not starting? And as someone said above, the Defensive Line looks a little off as well.
  19. Hope to See #11 take about 5 to 10 snaps per game at QB as Tune gives absolutely zero running threat to the defense.
  20. Congrats to both players on a hard fought battle. I'd guess what happened is Nathan didn't lose the job and Thompson didn't earn the job in fall camp. You always give the Senior every chance possible and that's probably what happened. Hopefully Tune can make the plays Canales needs him to make and protect the football.
  21. Nice breakdown of all of them. I'd go on record saying that the new North Texas stadium will be the nicest outside the BCS conferences. Not the biggest, but the nicest. The fact that HKS is behind the NT stadium and it's their first one is huge. Go around Dallas and look at the HKS buildings (they're the most impressive buildings architecturally in the Metroplex) and that'll give you an idea. You left out FAU which would be dead last no question.
  22. Very good article that hits the nail on the head. Everyone is 'one-upping' another program to be the biggest and the best. RV has done an outstanding job of building and enhancing North Texas facilities, and this new football stadium will certainly help with perception in a recruits mind.
  23. Yes, his throwing mechanics are somewhat scary. But when you win like he (and Ronnell Sims) has (especially in 5A football Region II) and put up numbers like that you've got to be a good football player. Saying that, he probably does not pass the litmus test as an FBS QB, but he's a heck of an athlete who our coaches need to take a long look at. We're probably never going to go down to DeSoto or Cedar Hill and get their top 3 recruits; but we've got to start chipping away at kids who are their next tier on those teams and are committing to Houston, Tulsa, Baylor, SMU, etc.
