  1. I'd imagine Canales and Bowen will earn around $200,000 as coordinators; and Quartaro would earn $150,000ish. And I would venture to say that we will be paying assistants significantly more than the rest of the Sun Belt just like we are our head coach.
  2. Farrow is a complete back and would be a nice addition. Saw him play as a sophomore and junior and would love to see him wearing Green!
  3. If any coach can find some good DT's and develop them into difference makers, it's Coach McCarney.
  4. Yes! His highlight video(s) is quite impressive! So I'm taking it that the California/Texas/Kansas/Mississippi Juco kids will be in next weekend?
  5. Did I miss something, or who is the new RB coach?
  6. North Texas well represented
  7. Reports are that he has been retained by McCarney as the cohesiveness between Hines and Canales at the end of the year was obvious.
  8. I'd guess Bowen's salary would be in the $185,000 to $200,000 range.
  9. Anthony Chickillo caught between Florida and Miami ......Chickillo said he was on the phone with college coaches that whole day, speaking to recruiters from Florida to Louisville to Alabama to Notre Dame to USC. "Pretty much you name it, I talked to 'em," he said. "They were all pushing real hard for me to take an official [visit.]" Last week, Chickillo took his first official visit. It was to North Carolina. This weekend, he was set to go to Gainesville and visit Florida. Yeah, McCarney -- the Gators' D-line coach who he liked so much -- was gone, off to run his own program at North Texas, but Meyer was still there running the show. But then, early Wednesday afternoon, Chickillo's high school coach called him again. "Flip on ESPN," the coach told him. "Urban just stepped down." Huh?
  10. Any of you recruiting gurus out there have a solid list of the guys who are reportedly visiting Denton this weekend?
  11. With Bowen and Riddle's special teams experience that aarea of the game should only be improved (especially coverage teams!)
  12. Charlie has good inside info through his son and other connections. I'd say if he was told that; its 99% a surefire thing.
  13. Nice frame and reported Speed. Of the schools listed on his Rivals deal, it'd be a no brainer for me to sign with North Texas!
  14. Awesome! Him and Canales work so well together!
  15. HEAD COACH Dan McCarney OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/ASSOC HC Mike Canales OFFENSIVE LINE Justin Frye RUNNING BACKS WIDE RECEIVERS Nick Quartaro TIGHT ENDS Kent Riddle DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR Clint Bowen DEFENSIVE LINE Mike Nelson LINEBACKERS SECONDARY SPECIAL TEAMS Kent Riddle STRENGTH & CONDITIONING Frank Wintrich That is based upon the assumption that Riddle coaches RB's. So we have 2 full time position coach slots to fill, and then a GA will probably do TE's?
  16. Looks great to me! So I am assuming this would be RB's and Special Teams?
  17. Awesome facility. Hard to believe that it will be the home of the Mean Green!
  18. That looks like a safe bet!
  19. FFR, I'd say what Bowen accomplished this past season at WKU was very significant. He Improved the defense big time with the same kids. This is huge. Imagine if we can go from 76th to 40th or so?
  20. Nice work FFR! This is a great sign. It took DeLoach 3 years to accomplish that type of success at North Texas.
  21. It looked like Canales called the first two games (Clemson & Rice) without interference. And it looked like the first part of the Army game was his, right up until when D. Thompson went down with the leg injury; and you know who was put in at QB. Dodge definitely had an emphasis on the offense against Army. And I'm not certain if the reigns weren't fully off of Canales until Todd was gone; because things certainly picked up then.
  22. Great find Harry! This is what you want to hear!
  23. Great work! This is a good sign. Very impressive recruiter for sure.
  24. Bobby Rainey over Lance Dunbar?
