  1. You mean Polk's right? Lemon is the O-lineman from Marble Falls. Nevertheless, Polk looks like a nice pickup. Reminds me of Stokojovic and Lee. Just a flat ass football player who flies all over the field making plays!
  2. Welcome aboard Chaz! Glad to have another area Top 100 kid.
  3. You hit the nail on the head. It stinks to lose these guys, but give this staff a season and these types of players will be committing to us from the get go. This is a good problem to have and shows this staff truly knows how to evaluate talent. As far as Carr goes, hate to lose him, but it sounds like he would have been very highly sought after by top programs if he had qualified early enough. Wish him the best in Stillwater. Ok state is a top 10 team next year, and he probably enjoyed the T. Boone Pickens facilities up there and got starry eyed. Don't like losing to Wake Forest, but they are in the ACC and Hunt will get to play on ESPN quite a bit, etc.
  4. After watching those videos, it's easy to see why he is wanted at safety. He absolutely flies to the ball and has a knack for being a defensive playmaker.
  5. It would be awesome to land Juarez! That would put us at 23.
  6. Have not seen much on this kid but those are absolutely incredible numbers. Must be a good athlete.
  7. We need a difference maker at CB with Royce leaving at the end of this year. This is the guy right here. I sure hope we get him! Word has it that Jamone Greer is a nice player, but may need a year of physical development to get stronger and gain weight. One of the assistant coaches told me that Carrington was good enough to come right in and push Royce and Ford for a spot. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
  8. Let's not forget Brelan Chancellor and Chris Bynes return. Bynes started against Clemson in week 1 and Rice in week 2 and is by far our most physical receiver.
  9. I've seen this kid play a few times, and Jimmerson is a great find. Heck of an athlete! (I hope he's this good) but he reminded me of a young Kendall Hunter (Oklahoma State) in terms of his actions and body language. 4.85 in the 45 yd dash maybe, but he's a legit low 4.5 guy in the 40yd no question. I think under Coach Wintrich's guidance he'll be a stout 5'9" 205 and a real 4.4 guy. Jimmerson and Whitfield will be an exciting duo for years to come.
  10. No biggy, your theory was accurate! Just wanted to make sure the 4-2-5 deal was accurate. And basically in today's day and age that is what a ton of teams are running on 2 downs per series anyway as a result of these spread offenses. Difference is that Patterson and Bumpas run it as their base front. We will be a 4-3 team under Mac and Bowen, no question. There will likely be some 3-4 thrown in there, but as a base and from a recruiting standpoint it will be a 4-3.
  11. Because you have a head coach who's emphasis is on defense (defensive speed at that), and he is going to take his best athletes and put them on Defense. This kid is an incredible athlete for sure, and he'll look good at about 6'3" 215 in the back end of that defense for the Mean Green. My guess is that Swarn will be a Free Safety and Carr will be a Strong Safety in the beginning. Is anyone else excited about the potential of two safeties at 6'3" and over 200 lbs roaming around back there in the years to come?
  12. This is GREAT news! Jimmerson is an outstanding find for sure. He was one of those guys who when you watched his team play, you thought "surely they'll give him the ball more" type of deal. Anyway, great body for an RB, good athlete, and will be a nice player. Nothing against Brandin Byrd, but the Jimmerson-Whitfield combo is VERY exciting to think about. These two are as impressive as LD was out of Haltom on video (not saying they'll develop like LD, but it's a good time to be optimistic). My guess is that Canales will ask Byrd to add weight and become more of a short yardage/between the tackles guy. Of the 3 young RB's, Whitfield will be more of the homerun threat/get to the edge guy, Jimmerson is good inside and gives you the ability to do some things in between the tackles as well as on the edge, and Byrd will probably be utilized more between the tackles. Nice collection of young talent for Coach Grant. Now we need to get him some U-Backs and H-Backs.
  13. TCU runs a 4-2-5. West Virginia is a well reknowned 3-3-5 team.
  14. Yeah, those UA combines are electronically timed
  15. DeSoto RB Antoine Jimmerson is scheduled to visit this weekend. Here's some "stuff" on him: ESPN Profile Notes from Dallas Under Armour Combine
  16. Trevon Burkes, 5'11" 204 LB from Butte College and Hebron High School
  17. This is a Midwestern State/Tarelton/SE Oklahoma type of kid. If he's dead set on FBS, then let him walk on here. But no 6'0" D-lineman from class 2A anymore here on scholarship. Times have changed here.
  18. Explain this?
  19. Nike will be the new official merchandiser for the football program.
  20. Link Here's a bevy of Seguin game photos. JD Harris is #54 and looks to play Right Tackle on offense. If you look at his frame; he is certainly an impressive specimen for high school (stands out on the field). My guess would be he could move to Defensive End.
  21. Does anyone know how to get our list of commitments over to the guys at rivals.com? We are missing so many on there. I know that Troy Phillips is no longer doing TMGR; but it'd be nice to get these updated as they come in. Any thoughts or leads?
  22. This is our top RB target according to some assistant coaches last night. Looks like an absolute stud
  23. Pure guesstimate; but I bet you it's 350-400 people.
