  1. Look at the emergence of Kelvin Smith this spring as a "jumbo" inside WR. I'd bet the staff wants someone like Lutz to develop and follow Smith - and potentially be even more of conventional "H" back who can be versatile in alignment, causing defenses a ton of problems.
  2. I wonder if the Athletic Department audit conducted by Trip and Sicuro is complete and submitted to the President yet? You can certainly bet that there won't be any hiring done until this part is completed. With that being said, 90, wouldn't you think that the department audit's findings would find a lot of glaring holes or places for opportunities? Consequently the 2nd guy in command wouldn't be considered to lead things forward in a new direction, right? Isn't that good business, and in reality, isn't the Athletic Department essentially a $35,000,000ish business? I think that's how I'd look at it, given that these two gentlemen are business leaders.
  3. Appears to have committed tonight! https://mobile.twitter.com/RemLutz22/status/752701713438486529 http://247sports.com/Player/Remington-Lutz-92252
  4. Amen, and this staff has done a really good job of working to accomplish that.
  5. Very interesting observation here. It doesn't seem that this offense is too concerned with time of possession, and that may be an inherent cause as to why the defenses of these teams tend to give up more points / yards. Bottom line, at the end of the day, just win.
  6. Good point. Let's keep our fingers crossed! Realistically, if 80% of them make it that'd be excellent.
  7. Yes, this list did not include the plethora of defensive backs expected to arrive in fall camp.
  8. With the addition of all of the new players (coupled with the new staff) on the defensive side, is anyone else not growing increasingly encouraged at the possibilities of having a much improved defense? Just the measurables of several of these JUCO kids has me excited. It's difficult to keep track of the continuous additions that this staff keeps getting, but let's take a look at some of them: Josh Wheeler - OLB / 6'3" 255 Will Johnson - OLB / 6'3" 230 Eji Ejiya - LB / 6'2" 220 Mylam Peters - DE / 6'5" 245 Raveon Hoston - DE / 6'4" 246 D'vonta Derricott - LB / 6'1" 233 With these guys and the numerous additions in the back end of this defense, we shouldn't be surprised at the potential for a substantial (yes, much needed) improvement on defense.
  9. What does the addition of Derricott take us to in C-USA?
  10. Excellent article. You have to love how this staff approaches everything.
  11. Who are those "VIDs" pushing for Hank?
  12. Good point (and thank you); edited.
  13. Kuehne and Lovelace and their sons were there. As far as I'm aware those are the two biggest athletic donor families. Add in McNatt, Ryan, and Westheimer (who were not in attendance) and you have the big donors of the so called "17".
  14. Very good event. Purposeful and well thought out from Trip and Sicuro. Simply put, they have been selected by the Neal and Brint Ryan to audit the program and make recommendations base off their analysis. They have been conducting interviews for weeks and then fan and letterman input seem to be some of the final pieces.
  15. Yes, that was worse. What about Amon Carter, Floyd Casey, Kyle Field, etc?
  16. Some of our recruiting opponents: Louisiana Tech SMUt Locker Room SMUt Training Room Tulsa UTEP Rice Houston Colorado Colorado Video We are uncompetitive with our current situation.
  17. Nice pickup for UofH. Hope that we can turn the corner and begin recruiting head to head with them in the near term.
  18. Did they have Fouts?
  19. In comparing the Athletic Center against the FBS schools whom we compete in recruiting with; whose is worse / needs an upgrade than ours? NO updates since a $7mm build in 2000? Seriously... And, yes, you're absolutely correct that we need a multi-purpose indoor.
  20. Good point. Whoever is chosen for the position, what we really need is a "team" culture where the AD embraces the BoR, President, and his Coaches views to enable and execute the tactical plans. We need the AD to empower his coaches and have the support of the university from the top down.
  21. A lot of money for 15,000 seats.
  22. Get an AD who can really raise money, and I bet you'll end up with substantial costs offset by private donations versus student fees.
  23. It looks are finally upgrading parts of the Athletic Center. This has been LONG overdue! https://mobile.twitter.com/MeanGreenOps/status/746363661841641473
