  1. Wasn't Shanbour hurt the vast majority of fall camp?
  2. Fine clearly provided the spark and, on the other side of the coin, and these players were likely dejected or disappointed from Morris' performance in the game.
  3. It's 1 game into what is clearly a new era in Denton. Exercise some common sense.
  4. Littrell said that the freshman CB blew assignment on the 88 yard post route to Sutton. How many times were there hands on Matt Davis in the backfield, only to have him evade the tackler? Not sure how a single play defines game-planning? Or could it just be "johnnys and joes"? Ekeler and Reffett are rookies?
  5. Gosh, it seems like the first long TD run there were 2, and there were at least 1-2 on each Davis scramble....
  6. Good points. SMU is improved and has some good players that Morris has brought in, but if 4 is out for any extended period of time, it'll be quite detrimental to their season.
  7. It was very obvious from the TV that the ground caused the fumble. No need to risk timeouts for something that clear.
  8. Absolutely. This program is going to do good things under his leadership (and now with the leadership in the AD).
  9. After watching several practices, two scrimmages, and this game I don't believe that it's a function of arm strength. Both 5 and 6 have plenty of that. It's a function of 5 trusting the system and the WR to be in or near the spot that he's throwing to, and cutting the ball loose to that spot (not "aiming" the ball - resulting in under throws). When / if 5 does cut it loose, it has plenty of velocity. The difference is, when 6 came into the game, he trusted the system and his WR to be in the spot which he threw to, and cut it loose. The result: plenty of completions and some balls into tight windows. Both have the ability to do this, 5 just has to "allow" himself to do this.
  10. It's pretty simple. If you show up within an hour of kickoff, don't expect an expeditious process to get tickets. You're going to wait.
  11. He visited here for the spring game weekend, and chose NC State instead, as his previous OC joined the NC State staff in Raleigh. Just came across an article that notes him as the starter there and remembered the name from his time / recruitment in Denton.
  12. Interesting. Probably a planned spell of Wilson. Littrell made no bones about Wyche not converting the 3rd and 1 "you could drive a dump truck through that hole and he didn't press the line correctly".
  13. Maybe they were spelling him with Wyche? Wasn't that immediately after the 31 yard run Wilson ripped off down our sideline? Maybe he was gassed...
  14. Finley started this weekend for NC State in their victory against William & Mary. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/17471344/north-carolina-state-wolfpack-settle-qb-situation-boise-state-transfer-ryan-finley
  15. So what do you guys do if you're the head ball coach? Play Morris? Play Fine? Play both?
  16. Littrell finds himself in the middle of one of the toughest decisions as a head coach, after his inaugural game as a head coach: Play the senior? Did the senior do enough to warrant moving down on the depth chart? Play the hotshot freshman who was an immediate spark to the team? Play both? How will the team react? This is a tough dilemma for the coaching staff.
  17. Yes, this was odd. The slogan is "Let it Fly" plain and simple. Not sure was Tim Crouch was doing, but the "like an Eagle" part needs to be nixed.
  18. It may be hard for a coach to have time to watch much football during the season. @dd992emo said it best as "torn". The good news is that this staff has demonstrated that they'll play the best guy regardless of background. Buechele was Texas' best option, and while I know that he was a highly rated recruit, he and Fine do possess similarities in their style.
  19. Any news on Davis' injury? And Jones? That'll make SMU a different team.
  20. Turnovers and giving up explosive plays will get you beat. We were quite guilty of both yesterday. It goes to show you, if Morris executes, and we don't give up the Hail Mary, it's a totally different outcome.
  21. Littrell will be fine. He's not going to sweat it too much. Just make certain this team improves a lot in a week!
  22. There was a large contingent of visitors last night. Any ID's?
  23. Nice perspective here. Defense did improve a lot through the course of the game. And in reality, even in the first quarter, were burned in blitzes on the two big plays. The Hail Mary on 3rd and 45 was a darn fluke. We need some of this new depth in the secondary (Jenkins, Baulkman, Turner) to step up and contribute. I believe that their raw athleticism will be a nice shot in the arm for this team and will improve the overall defensive speed.
  24. Yes. It was Wheeler to crunched him up like an accordian.
  25. How many reps does a player need to "knock" off the rust? Morris has been here here all spring, summer, and fall repping in this system with these receivers.
