  1. Memphis is an excellent comparison, and you had better believe that Littrell and Fuente are friends and talk quite a bit.
  2. O'Hara was a medical redshirt this year. He arrived for fall camp with an injured shoulder, so he should be a RS Junior this fall. It does look like Isadore has 2 years. Fine has 3 years and Pearson 4 years. You add a 2018 signee to that depth chart, and you should be in pretty good shape...no?
  3. He's 6'4"+ and already reportedly bulked up to 261 lbs after playing in the 230's. I'm sure the staff projects a 6'4" 290+ kid who's athletic.
  4. We have Fine, Pearson, Isadore, Shanbour, Cason and O'Hara. Do we really need more?
  5. http://www.burntorangenation.com/2016/8/30/12717822/deandre-mcneal-texas-longhorns-transfer-fullerton-cc Gone at the beginning of fall camp. The timing was obviously poor for the kid, as teams were already in fall camp. The question would be, did this impact transcripts in any way, and is that why he is taking classes locally? I'm not sure how we would know...
  6. Have a feeling that Johnson is a real sleeper in this class. He doesn't arrive with a ton of hype, and he's going to surprise a lot of people.
  7. Watched Duncanville play against Allen in the playoffs, and Siggers was a one man wrecking ball. He competed his tail off every play, and seemingly willed Duncanville to stay within reach, prior to Allen pulling away at the end. Would love for us to land this kid!
  8. There was some really poor timing for DeAndre with the dismissal from the team at Texas (didn't that occur in August?), which may have impacted transcripts and transferrable credit hours. He is taking classes currently at a local Juco near home.
  9. It's a movie theater. Probably holds 250 people max.
  10. What do you bet that the staff believes that he can be developed at least to this level during the first year on campus, and when 2018 season comes, he's physically ready to be a difference maker? This coupled with above are two key parts to how Tibbs earned a Blueshirt.
  11. No concern here. It's all about improving the overall talent and quantity of quality depth on the roster. The staff is being very creative, and quite frankly doing a nice job of selling these kids and their families on this Blueshirt concept. I'm not certain if people can't recognize the lack of depth and talent on the 2016 roster that this staff played the season with. There MAY have been 3 dozen players who were talented enough to earn a scholarship off this staff's evaluation, and they signed almost 2 dozen of those. That's not to knock the kids, and several of those made positive contributions, but that's just the reality of the hand they were dealt. With that, the plan is clearly evident (and quite frankly necessary), and it makes a lot of sense.
  12. Coach Davis has to be pleased with the quality new additions up front!
  13. He's a linebacker, late qualifier visiting this weekend.
  14. Terrell Cooper? Deion Novil?
  15. Do these rankings (the total "points") go off of a number by commit? In other words, is if safe to say that our current 14 commits according to 247 have our average commit ranking at 6.87714 "points" per player? These obviously don't take into consideration Blueshirts (and in all likelihood that would be impossible to track).
  16. Nic Smith. Remember that name. Best of luck to Willie. Had troubles overcoming some habits, and wish him nothing but the best long term.
  17. Hasn't the team started offseason workouts with Womack and the strength staff? They should be in town.
  18. Unreal. 33% of carries went for a TD.
  19. Interesting definition of "commitment", but thank you for clarifying. The president (who came to UNT in January of 2014) and BOR aren't likely to go over the department chair's (Athletic Director) head to "fix" the problem, especially when the department chair is expected to handle his or her area of expertise. Now, not to bash Rick, but we all know that the Benford hire was a "miss". I would think "commitment" from that level of administration would be to back Wren Baker with the budgetary resources necessary to handle a firing and / or hiring, which in this case, appears like we will be able to see when that time comes. As a fan, I (or anyone else for that matter) obviously am disappointed with the results in basketball this season or the past couple of seasons. But, in the grand scheme of things, I don't see what changes in terms of prospective records if Benford is fired now or at the conclusion of the season.
  20. So the timing of the firing, even if we assume the new coach turns the program for the positive in one year, impacts your decision of whether or not to purchase tickets? How would you define a lack of commitment from the president and BOR? Of course, no one is happy with the results of this season or the past couple of seasons - and a change in MBB leadership is inevitable.
  21. Absolutely agree with this concept. There are also plenty of exceptions, where a kid may qualify late, be recovering from an injury, etc. that turn off the P5 guys and they choose to move on. Kids who hold or held notable offers and fall into a criteria based off of circumstances above can certainly be difference makers at a place like UNT. Wasn't there some sort of "academic exception" the UNT administration was offering that was a loophole to land several of these players (named 'Prop' something)? Eventually this went away, but I am fairly certain that there was.
  22. This is a nice pickup as a "H" or "Y" wide receiver. Seems like an impressive kid and family.
  23. Nice list @Harry. Are you officially counting Blueshirts as commits toward this class?
  24. Jamario was definitely a rare occurrence in our recruiting history. Exactly. Those are the rare breed kids who are "freaks" per se, and if developed in college have a much higher likelihood of being rated highly when entering the NFL Draft. CUSA doesn't deal in those kids in recruiting. We deal in a larger pond with more fish for the 3 star and down kids. How much real time do these "recruiting expert websites" put into "evaluating" this lower level of player, and formulating a ranking system that coincides with productive success at the collegiate level?
