  1. Celina only has three home games!
  2. I like seeing an offensive lineman excelling in the conditioning drills.
  3. Durodoye did not get sacks on special teams. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...p;Q_SEASON=2007 Sykes may play DE and I inadvertantly left out Seidle. I did not leave out anyone else that I expect to get minutes at linebacker.
  4. Starters: Holman, Monroe, and Mendoza. Backups: Durodoye, Mahan, Dawson, Owusu-Hemeng, and Sykes. Heopefully we can redshirt the freshmen.
  5. More on possible Big 10 plans. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...wn.37768ff.html
  6. Not while I was there.
  7. The turnout was good. The attitutude was positive. The uniforms looked great. Except for the long line to get to the food it was an enjoyable experience.
  8. Is it possible that the Fort Worth Bowl wll become an option?
  9. The jury is still out on that issue. We should know soon enough.
  10. They also briefly showed Adrian Awasom, from the NY Giants, in Denton shaking the hand of a player or perhaps former player.
  11. They talked about the increased contribution requirement for Section E seats. They said ticket sales are up bigtime. They interviewed Larry Collister, a local lawyer from Denton who said he doubled his giving after Dodge was hired.
  12. NM
  13. Doesn't the Big XII have their own standards which are higher than the NCAA minimum?
  14. This is one problem that I hope Dodge takes control of at North Texas. It is the one thing that has ever made me consider dropping MGC membership and season tickets. I expect Dodge to take a hardline on arrests and convictions for criminal activity.
  15. The SBC already has one to many Basketball Schools (Denver). We don' t need more BB teams to split revenue with, and with WKU becoming the 9th football team there is no advantage to adding a tenth. Why would the SBC want to add La Tech?
  16. Burkley Harkless from the late 60's and early 70's has to be considered as one of the best. A fomer UNT player from that era told me that Joe Greene tried to get Burkley to accept a free agent offer from Pittsburg and said "you are better than any of the guys we got here." Burkley declined. The following link makes mention of Burkley a few times. http://www.unt.edu/northtexan/archives/w04/meanm.htm
  17. It is nice to see North Texas mentioned on that list. I guess that the Jack Elway from Cherry Creek Co. on the drop back quarterback list must be John Elway's son.
  18. It looks like Dodge will look under every rock to find players who can help this program. Neither Kaiser nor Roman had UNT on their radar 6 months ago.
  19. Phillips should transfer to a 1AA. I think it would be in his best interest. He is good enough to start for many 1AA's and his talent would be wasted on the bench.
  20. In addition to Leonard Dunlap, I meant to include Beasley Reece who played in the NFL for 9 seasons, and Carl "Spider" Lockhart who played 11 seasons in the NFL and made the Pro Bowl twice.
  21. How about our only DB ever drafted in the first round? http://www.profootballhof.com/history/general/draft/1971.jsp
  22. I only saw Shanklin play in the NFL, but there is no question he should be at the top. I watched J.T. Smith play at NT and as an undrafted free agent he went on to play in the NFL for 12 seasons and made 2 Pro Bowls. Johnny Quinn, Marcus Camper, and Troy Redwine round out my top five.
  23. This mornings DRC said he "had scholarship offers from Hawaii and South Dakota State". The Honolulu Advertiser says he turned down a walk on at UH.
  24. Turned down U of H. http://blogs.honoluluadvertiser.com/index.php?blog=9
  25. The Big West football teams, between 1996 and 2000, consisted of Boise State, Idaho, Nevada, Utah State, New Mexico State, Arkansas State, and North Texas.
