  1. If they are making changes I would recommend that they move the Courtyard Couch to the floor by the student section. It would be a greater reward for the winners and would be more aesthetically pleasing.
  2. Notice that he played 26 minutes against Tech and 17 minutes against Georgetown in the NCAA Tournament this year.
  3. http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketbal...ayerpage/566582 Info on Haynes.
  4. Was that the 1.5mill donation, or was there something else?
  5. I played Golf at Tour 18 today and one of the employees noted my NT cap. He said they had some folks from NT play earlier in the day. He said that they were affiliated with the University and he asked when we would get a new staduim. He stated that one of the persons identified himself as the guy in charge of getting it built and that person said it would be ready in 2009. I asked if the guy was Rick Villareal and he said he didn't recall the guys name.
  6. I don't believe he ever started or saw much playing time.
  7. I saw it. It was one of the best stories done on UNT sports I have ever seen. I was going to try to link it from their website, but it appears that it is unavailable.
  8. Channel 5 was also there and spoke with Dodge and also played film clips from practice.
  9. They do own Mrs. Bairds bread and Vernon Baird is a UNT Alum. So there is a connection. Imagine "Welcome to Bimbo Stadium in Denton Texas." It has a unique ring to it.
  10. According to a post on the Sun Belt message board the CBS Evening News will have a story on Rich Young and his military service.
  11. MUTS beat a team that has already made the tournament (Belmont). They are a good basketball team, but if we play to our potential we will win. I hope that KD finds his shot tommorow night.

  13. He looked physically like he belonged on the Jr. High B team. He is only a freshman and scored 16 points and grabbed two rebounds in the last two minutes right under the basket.
  14. Everyone has different tastes. Siam at Carriage Square if you like Thai food. Green House on North Locust. Hannah's just south of the square. Three Finns just off of I35 and the Loop for seafood. Frilly's on Denison just north of University for Cajun. Chinatown Cafe on West University is popular for Chinese Buffet. Sweet Basil is also popular for Thai and is located at Denton Crossing. Burgundy's ($$$) for Steaks is just west of the square on Hickory. Bari's is near campus on Oak for Italian.
  15. Additional comments on Rausch. http://www.theoldcoach.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=45324
  16. Did anyone else see this? I will try to link it if I can find it on the WFAA website. It was the 10 o'clock newscast.
  17. He played at Ft Worth Christian until his Senior Year. The SMU poster said he had seen him recently and that he had grown bigger than he was in high school and also said he may be a diamond in the rough.
  18. A post from the SMU board says Trevor Ashlock (starting safety from Southlake in 2005) decided not to play college ball and went to Arkansas. It says he has transferred to UNT and will walk on this spring. Anyone know anything about him?
  19. Great press and a good story on a quality person. Talked about his service in Iraq before playing college ball.
  20. Since our last game is Feb. 24 and the SBC Quarterfinals are March 4, is there anyone else who thinks it would be better to play a home game on Feb. 28 to start the tournament and avoid the layoff of 8 days? I want to win out, but I am not sure a home conference tournament game to start would be such a bad thing.
  21. You make very good points, perhaps your paranoia may prove to have a basis in fact. You clearly are keenly aware of past late season collapses and are not willing to jump on the bandwagon to quick. You sound like a man who will evaluate matters based on past performance and hold a coaches feet to the fire.
  22. What about these North Texas Defensive Ends: Tony Elliot the 3rd pick of the 5th round by New Orleans in 1982; Reginald Lewis a 3rd round pick by Tampa Bay in 1979; or Mel Davis a 15th round pick by the Steelers in 1976. Is he better than them?
  23. Better than Cedric Hardman (the number 9 overall pick in the 1970 NFL draft and a pro bowler in 1971)? If he is anywhere near Cedric in ability he will be great.
  24. I don't care who you are, that's funny right there!
  25. Now for the Sun Belt: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_Belt_Conference.
