If he can get an appointment to the AFA and that is an area of interest then he should pursue it. Vanderbilt is a small private school with a good academic rating in a BCS conference, and I can't begrudge him going there if they have the specific academic program he is interested in. I really don't see how this reflects negatively on Dodge or UNT. I think we have other good recruits committed at Safety and Linebacker.

Hopefully we can expect more from Charlie Brown at DE now that he has had a year to adjust and also Jordan Scoggins and Kyle Russo were redshirted. As far as the OL, Johnson, Kaiser, and Tomlinson were all redshirts. Still we need more linemen especially on defense.

My wife and I both have advanced degrees from Texas Tech and receive regular mailings regarding events. I only follow the Mean Green and have not even a passing interest in TTU athletics. Today I received a postcard for the O'Reilly Auto Parts Christmas Classic at the American Airlines Arena which also has other area sponsors including a television station and a radio station. This "Classic" is simply a game between Tech and Stanford. The card is good for $5 off the lowest priced ticket which is $29. Maybe it is just me, but I find it frustrating that they can get a sponsored non conference game in our area which I am sure will receive press coverage. Why don't these guys sponser a tournament featuring local Universities?

I noticed while checking the NMSU schedule (they beat UNM tonight) that they scheduled a home and home series with both UTEP and UNM for this year. I believe that they play those games yearly. I think that we should seek to do the same type of scheduling with SMU, TCU, of UTA or a combinationof those schools. It would allow fans to travel and help generate an increased interest at each school and the media, as well as reduce the travel budget for the school.

Actually, PMG once referred to our new tennis facility as "Wimbledon like". I've never been to Wimbledon so I guess I will have to accept his comparison. So, if that is the case then it must have something to do with it.

Johnny Jones answered that question for every sport at our great university. UNT is a special place. This is a fact that seems lost on several posters on this board who continue to post negative comments over and over ad nausium.

A fact that far to many people who post on this forum do not fully appreciate.
