In the early 90's when we were moving back to D1A for football we needed to average a certain amount of fans per game. A check arrived from Thailand for $10,000 with a request to purchase tickets and distribute them. That check was from Charn who was receiving the Alumni Magazine and became aware of the need. He indicated that he enjoyed football while at NT and wanted to help. Subsequently President Hurley became very interested in him and he hit him up for a contribution of $1,000,000 for academics. He was CEO of a what I believe was the largest chip manufacturer in Asia. Evidently after getting the million they dropped the ball and suddenly have reconnected.

Everytime I see Coach Mac in those glasses I think of Roy Orbison. The Ath Dept should put together a video to play at the stadium of Mac singing "Pretty Woman" as pictures of the stadium are shown in the background.

The legislature is not in session. Unless a special session is called it will not be in session. This committee meeting (house committee) is little more than a waste of taxpayers money by legislators seeking to appease a few angry constituents on matters unrelated to the legislatures business. They cannot force the Aggie President or the BOR president of A%M to appear. The legislature will not meet again until January 2013. Where do you come up with this stuff?

The legislature is not in session and they can call all the committee meetings they want. All it amounts to is a lot of hot air. Tech supporters know that the Aggies will drop them off future schedules and there ain't nothing they can do about it.

The 6 pm broadcast featured McCarney. Last week they had a feature on the New Stadium. Great coverage. Hanson gave props to McCarney and his infectious enthusiasm.

Ray Womack HOF Class of 2000 passed away last evening in Tyler. My daughter-in-laws grandparents were close friends with the Womacks and her grandmother told me me a few weeks ago that he was very ill, she also told me that he had longed to see the new stadium and attend a game and how sad it was that he would not live long enought to do so.
