  1. UConn to the rescue.
  2. Reggie Bush sues USC, Pac-12, NCAA for NIL compensation - ESPN I think the descendants of John Heisman have a better claim. They should seek compensation from everyone who benefited from his innovation. The Heisman Trophy Is Named After This Coach and Innovator | HISTORY Heisman’s many innovations included the center snap, the handoff, breaking the game from two halves into four quarters, adding a scoreboard for fans, the pre-snap shift and instituting the hike/hut cadence. Heisman’s most important influence may have been his role in legalizing the forward pass.

  3. Not so quick. Apparently, there is not such agreement. Contradictory reports emerges on Pac-12 adding Gonzaga: ‘No deal in place’ (msn.com)
  4. So, I guess that UTEP and NMSU are next in line for PAC6.
  5. I don't care where we play, I just want to win a bowl game again.
  6. The Army game is on Veterans Day Weekend (November 11 is the next Monday). Proper promotion could fill the Stadium. Discounts for Veterans, Honoring Disabled Veterans, maybe a special performance with music honoring our Country, etc. The game will be just 4 days after the election.
  7. They were all listed below the Press Box at Fouts and if listed anywhere at DATCU they are not prominent. I have been told by some that no one cares about the past.
  8. You would think that they would get our name right, it is "North Texas State".
  9. 22,149 tickets sold as of this morning. I assume that number does not include student tickets. North Texas Gameday: UNT closing on goal to sell out Wyoming game as it looks to move to 3-1 | Mean Green | dentonrc.com
  10. It is all in the eye of the beholder so you may need to take that blindfold off and evaluate it with your own peepers.
  11. So which bird is in the hand and which birds are in the bush? Are the hand and bush interchangeable? I assume Sammy the Owl, Rowdy the Roadrunner, and Scrappy are the birds you are referring to. Are you factoring in the Falcons as one of the birds?
  12. If World class Championship Wrestling after the game doesn't fill the Stadium then what can?
  13. Similarly, the PAC-12 may be aiming for a world that doesn’t really exist: of high-paying networks with a cash-rich streaming deal supplementing income. The networks have made clear their dance cards are largely filled, and as Crakes points out, there is no guarantee the tech companies are riding over the horizon to save the day. Can Pac-12 find new media deal win? (msn.com)
  14. I am over 65 and I do not understand this issue with walking across a bridge. Is it really that hard for someone 45+ years younger than me to walk a mile? I have been to games in Austin, College Station, Norman, Boulder, and many other locations and had to walk much farther than the distance from the old Fouts lot or the Dorms for that matter to attend football games in 90+ Weather on many occasions.
  15. I disagree. If AFA joins the AAC and the payout per school by the PAC is not that much higher than the AAC payout then UTSA can sit on its own island in Texas and we can add Texas State. The West Coast schools that have the highest values have fled to Conferences with schools primarily located in the Eastern and Central Time Zone. If we move West they first must "Show me (us) the Money!".
  16. North Texas should seek one as well. On-campus nuclear reactor approved for university in Texas (msn.com)

  19. Another opinion. In the end the writer says Tulane is not as appealing as UTSA. Why Tulane should be among top targets for Pac-12 expansion (msn.com)
  20. Thanks. I was unaware of this. Can't wait to see how this forum responds to this information.
  21. What a team gets is subject to the contract.
  22. For those of us around at the time, our Big West days still make us hesitant to endorse a move into a western conference.
  23. True, but they just hit a record enrollment of over 40,000 and our enrollment has dipped this semester. I don't know their student fee numbers but enrollment changes can have a big impact. https://news.txst.edu/inside-txst/2024/fall-2024-record-enrollment.html Just looked up fees. TSU is $22 per credit hour. UNT is $17.85 per credit hour.
