RV mentioned, at the signing day presentation, that the student governments of UNT and UTSA were working on creating a trophy to play for each year, in order to cement a rivalry between the two schools. Apparently the leading candidate is the Sombrero Trophy. I don't know if this has been mentioned or for that matter if anyone cares. I am all in favor of a rivalry but not so much a trophy shaped like a Sombrero. I have no idea if they are seeking any input from other sources.

We are undefeated in 2015.

Navy is in Annapolis Maryland and will be in the AAC west. Dallas is in the Eastern Division of the NFC and so is New York .West Point is on the Hudson river north of NYC. I referenced Navy being in the AAC west next year to be sure folks like you would understand the suggestion MGT.

We should add Army as football only and put them in the west like Navy in the AAC.

I don't know about easily step past, but I am confidant that we are better than WKU, MTSU, Southern Miss, and Charlotte.

In 1995 we played an independent schedule and brought UAB in as our homecoming opponent, on October 14, when they were not yet 1A and had only recently started football. On the strength of basketball alone and perhaps location they were entering CUSA while we were entering the Big West. They beat us 19-14 and that game has stuck in my craw for almost 20 years . We did beat Oregon State later that year and had a brutal schedule that included Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisville, Kansas etc. but I digress. I have wanted payback for a long time and it is at hand. We win 38-28.

A man from Carthage I spoke with a few weeks ago told me they are both great players but in his opinion Rutherford is better.

Even as a father he has to admit to himself that his son has been given every opportunity to be successful. My son was a good high school swimmer (could have been better if he worked harder at it) but I knew when he got his butt kicked and sometimes that is just the way it is. I always told him and will tell my grandson that no matter how good you are at anything there is always someone somewhere who is better.

After seeing the success of Larry Coker at UTSA, June Jones is expected to accept the job as the first coach at Russia State. Details are currently being worked out, including limitations on the number of Ukrainian recruits, and a possible 10 year home and home with SMU. Sources say that Jones also would like the school colors to include green in that he believes that away games at Ford Stadium will likely be attended by a sizeable number of local fans wearing green in support of RSU. Sources also say that RSU is trying to lure Dallas area superstar broadcaster George Dunham to announce games on the radio.

I renewed my season tickets today.

6 pm would be likely sellout. I have spoken to numerous people who would normally buy tickets but instead will be attending their children's athletic activities on Saturday morning. Folks at ticket office are hoping for large student walkup tomorrow.

We are listed as a high major. Where did you get the idea this article says we are a low major?

Any poster who merits his own thread deserves induction into the gomeangreen Hall of Fame. Name any one who has caused as many hits on this site as Andrew. I suggest that their are none. Could he be honored at halftime of the final basketball game with a plaque or something similar?

Didn't we offer Brock over Josh two years ago. It appears that mistake has been corrected. I wish Brock well at UNC. The Big Sky is a good conference and UNC is much closer to his family.

Friday the 27th after having read about the ticket situation on this board, I e-mailed RV, from Estes Park Co, at what would be just after midnight (Saturday morning) in Denton. When I left town on the 20th of Dec I went by the ticket office and was told they would be mailed (I had placed my mail on hold) and did not plan on returning until late on the 29th. I had no plans on going to Dallas until game day. I received an e-mail from RV the next morning that had an aprox 6 am send time and was told I could pick them up by noon on Monday at the ticket office. They were available as promised. I have no complaints and believe that RV and the AD staff did a great job of correcting the ticket situation. Seriously, how many AD's would personally handle this type of problem? I heard no excuses only solutions.
