  1. Winner is 2013. I would have picked 1967. https://meangreensports.com/news/2020/6/18/football-best-team-ever-2013.aspx
  2. Trayvon Martins mother is running for office and says we need more police, not less, and they need better training. This is a few days old but I think it is relevant to the discussion. https://www.wftv.com/news/trending/trayvon-martins-mom-says-dont-defund-police-qualifies-run-office/NHMYVPAWYJELBL2PCC75RAUON4/
  3. I know a woman named Virginia who was born in Washington. Coincidence? It sure is a small world.
  4. Thankfully this is being addressed by the current administration. Executive Order in 2017. https://theundefeated.com/features/trump-signs-executive-order-on-hbcus/ Verified as giving more money than any other president in 2018. https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/verify/verify-has-trump-given-more-money-to-hbcus-than-any-other-president/65-543185506 Bipartisan bill signed by President continued the commitment. https://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2019-12-19/trump-signs-bill-restoring-funding-for-black-colleges Did Trump save HBCUs? https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2020/01/23/trumps-claim-about-saving-hbcus-was-false-his-administration-has-largely-backed Some HBCU leaders, for example, point to the March 2018 move by Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to cancel the repayment of more than $300 million in federal relief loans that four historically black colleges took out after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit in 2005. “She was genuinely interested in working on our behalf,” said Walter Kimbrough, president of Dillard University in New Orleans, which received loan relief from DeVos. “That’s their big win” with HBCUs, he said of the administration.
  5. Final game. I don't believe that 2002 and 2013 are the best teams ever. Since that is all that is left I have got to go with 2002. https://meangreensports.com/news/2020/6/16/football-best-team-ever-1-2002-vs-1-2013.aspx
  6. Looks like a budding rivalry with Texas Wesleyan.
  7. I guess you caught the sexist comment as well. I am surprised he hasn’t been called out on that issue.

  9. Saw a Capitol Hill resident interviewed who said “graffiti and trash is everywhere” and small business owners are disrespected. Police say emergency response times are now three times as long as before. Who cares, just give me a free burrito, a bottle of water and a dog treat.
  10. Charles Schwab Challenge is the official name but I prefer calling it The Colonial. https://meangreensports.com/news/2020/6/11/mens-golf-munoz-ortiz-to-resume-pga-season-in-fort-worth.aspx
  11. I had to go with 2013. The HOD win was a great moment. https://meangreensports.com/news/2020/6/9/football-best-team-ever-1-1947-vs-1-2013.aspx

  13. At a minimum, if he wins, he should be able to collect enough bricks to build a nice house.
  14. I don't care what they do, I don't watch the NFL. I believe the Anthem was mandated by the Commissioner at some point during WW2. Unmandate it and play the game if it causes controversy or stay in the locker room if you want. You want it played for the opportunity to protest? Why? It is entertainment not a political event. Your statement that is is not controversial is incorrect. Many people on the left actually don't like it and claim it is militaristic, promotes nationalism and has subtle references to slavery etc... I don't agree with the statements in this link but here it is for your perusal. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/the-real-controversy-over_b_11936870 As for me I stand when it is played and honor my country and those who have fought to defend it. I added this link from a Kaepernick supporter... ' https://theintercept.com/2016/08/28/colin-kaepernick-is-righter-than-you-know-the-national-anthem-is-a-celebration-of-slavery/
  15. I don’t watch the NFL because I already dedicate my Saturday’s to football and prefer to spend time with family, get outdoors etc. Haven’t paid much attention to it in over 20 years. The NBA season is to long and it bores me. I really don’t care what their policy is. Why don’t they just stop playing the national anthem and problem solved. If that had been the policy Kaepernick would just be another guy that played in the NFL. Alternatively I suppose they could play the National anthem while the teams are in the locker room like we do at NT home football games.
  16. Jason Furman is former Chair of Economic Advisors under Obama.

  19. Sometimes we all need to at least find something that we can all be thankful for. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/u-s-jobless-rate-unexpectedly-fell-in-may-as-hiring-rebounded/ar-BB154ATi?ocid=msedgdhp
  20. Isn’t that ultimately an individual decision where you weigh perceived costs vs perceived benefits. I watched an interview of a city councilman in a large city who said that the protests were the direct cause of “the Attorney General of Wisconsin filing charges against the other 3 officers.” Yes he said “Wisconsin”. A black elected official who clearly knows nothing about Keith Ellison. If that was the only objective of the protest, and I am not saying that it was or that the councilman said it was, then it was unnecessary. If you have higher objectives and believe they outweigh risks to you or society then demonstrate.
