  1. Milton Collins. We beat out A%M for the number 1 running back in Texas. He did in fact carry the ball for North Texas but ultimately ended up on the defensive line. https://texashistory.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc856934/ This article says top running back in Texas.. https://digital.library.unt.edu/ark:/67531/metadc98812/m1/11/ [North Texas vs. UT] - The Portal to Texas History (unt.edu) https://www.peacefulrestfuneralhome.com/memsol.cgi?user_id=1308267
  2. Cougar McBride
  3. I neglected to mention the clue said a school in Texas. It has been over 40 years since I have stepped on the UCLA campus but they did not have a live bear enclosure at that time.
  4. A video clue about a University showed a Bear enclosure with some additional info and the contestants were to ID the University. The first guy to ring in said "North Texas". The second said Baylor.
  5. Since the question is personal I can honestly say that it depends. I can live comfortably on an income of $700,000. I am not a basketball coach but my loyalty to NT would be sufficient to decline the offer. McCasland is not in the same boat. All that being said I would hate for my alma mater to do to me what UTA did to Scott Cross.
  6. Virginia, a basketball school, drew 5278 (capacity 14,593) against Mississippi State at home in the NIT first round. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/matchup?gameId=401411704 So, would it be good attendance if we had drawn 412 more people?
  7. Oklahoma drew 4324. LLoyd Noble Center seats 10,967. https://soonersports.com/documents/2022/3/20/2072416.PDF But of course, OU has only about 30,000 students and it is a football school right?
  8. If they decide to transfer, then I would like Kenny Lofton Jr., Isaiah Crawford, and Cobe Williams.
  9. 4866 is actually closer to 5000. By comparison SMU had 2179 for their home game against WSU. https://wsucougars.com/sports/mens-basketball/stats/2021-22/smu/boxscore/15216
  10. Apparently, Nebraska has better benefits than UT. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ncaafb/former-texas-qb-blasts-program-due-to-lack-of-players-getting-cars/ar-AAVfoN2?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531
  11. Shoot Whataburgers out of the T-Shirt Cannon! Bring back the Chicken Toss with a live Chicken! Bring back Ashley Pickle for a guest appearance in a pickle costume. Invite Craig Helwig and see if he can identify our school colors from a multiple choice list on the video board. He might be able to do so with the help of the audience. Invite the kid and have him reenact the Coca-Cola commercial with Mean Joe live during a break.
  12. Apparently, some SMU fans are unhappy with Coach J. Including criticism for his non-conference scheduling. Isn't that one reason Helwig released him as our coach. Of course, Helwig subsequently hired Trilli who lost to Maryland by 70 points. https://www.csnbbs.com/thread-944346.html
  13. I have purchased my tickets and I am happy that my parking pass is still good.
  14. Go on sale noon tomorrow. https://meangreensports.com/news/2022/3/13/mens-basketball-mean-green-earn-first-ever-nit-bid.aspx
  15. Has us as lowest 2 seed. https://www.dratings.com/predictor/bracketology/
  16. FAU has also accepted an invite to CBI.
  17. Formerly known as the CIT. https://utepminers.com/news/2022/3/12/mens-basketball-utep-mens-basketball-to-play-in-basketball-classic-for-first-postseason-appearance-since-2015.aspx
  18. So you want this guy? https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/coaches/vic-trilli-1.html Recruited Chris Davis, Leonard Hopkins etc. Hit your game average for 2 out of 4 years and came close in the other 2 years.
  19. They are currently 96 in NET ratings so you are probably right.
  20. The NIT will be back to 32 teams this year. We could potentially play Texas A&M, Texas State, TCU, SMU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, UAB/LaTech, just to name a few schools that will likely miss the NCAA tournament. I am excited about the opportunity to play any of those teams and generally excited about the invite. We have never been invited to play in the NIT. UTA has been to the NIT 3 times and was a quarterfinalist in 2017. In the last 10 years Texas, TCU, and Baylor have all won the NIT.
  21. In the event a fan from UTSA is reading this post I think it should be explained more clearly. That Bucket of Chicken is Half Full not Half Empty!
  22. https://www.bcsnn.com/basketball/1439-rice-owls-men-s-basketball-headed-to-march-madness-with-a-bid-for-the-2022-cbi
  23. I don't blame James Reese for transferring to South Carolina, He was an important part of our success last year and I think he also graduated. South Carolina will probably be in the NIT. However, I think if he had stayed this year we would have won at least two more regular season games and would be in the Conference Tournament finals.
  24. If TSU doesn't win he should have to walk back from Birmingham!
  25. La Tech defeated WKU in the NIT quarterfinals last year and ultimately finished 3rd. Let's hope we can do better than that.
