Game at Highland Park (not Dallas). SMU has lost 3 in a row.

But the power brokers in the Big Ten and SEC simply might not care about any of that. They’re not guardians of the game; they’re manipulators of the game. Gluttony by the Big Ten and SEC Would Be Catastrophic for College Sports (msn.com)

If true, then I assume they will not interact with or play games against teams that are not in their conferences. Unlike the NFL that seeks parity through the draft and salary cap no such equalizer will be in place. Schools like Northwestern and Vanderbilt among others will permanently (perhaps they already are anyway) field losing teams with no chance for any Championship and will solely participate for any revenue sharing. In my opinion, all schools remaining in the NCAA should enact a rule banning games against any of those teams.

Congratulations to FirefightnRick - Retirement after 30-years

Those areas were actually painted by individual Fraternities and Sororities which helps explain the various color schemes and lettering. They would sit in the areas they had painted. -
Tech fans have a deep hate (no exaggeration) for UT and A$M. They have always viewed those schools as their rivals. Unfortunately for them, those feelings have never been reciprocated. A$M hasn't scheduled them in football or basketball since leaving the Big 12 and Texas has already indicated that they will not be scheduling them in football in the foreseeable future and after this incident I doubt they will schedule them in Basketball. Tech fans are at least in part responsible for the refusal to schedule games.

"Twilight years" seems a bit ominous for a person that young. I think it is great he was able to retire at such a young age. Congratulations on your retirement FFR. -

In most years, the 5+7 format will assure the conference champions from the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC a spot in the playoff, along with the highest-ranked Group of 5 conference champion. The CFP intentionally won't refer to the Group of 5 in its description of the format, though, because there is a chance that a champion from one of the Power 4 conferences finishes ranked below the top champion from the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Mountain West, Sun Belt or Mid-American Conference. Demystifying the Redshirt in College Basketball - 33rd Square The NCAA has strict guidelines about redshirting that schools must follow: Athletes get one redshirt season during their 5-year eligibility window. Redshirt players can‘t compete in any outside competition, including scrimmages or exhibition games. Athletes must be listed on the active roster and attend all team practices to maintain redshirt status. Players can participate in up to 30% of games in modern conferences before losing their redshirt. Coaches must request redshirt approval prior to the start of the season.

Despite losing 6 of our last 9 games we are ranked 78th in the NET which is still third highest in the AAC. That can largely be attributed to good scheduling.

"Jason Edwards is a handful...I am not trying to be blasphemous...he has a lot of Jelly Walker characteristics...he's a really good player."

Often in the past our non-conference scheduling has been questioned on this board. I think it is worth pointing out that we have played the lowest number of quad 4 games in our conference thus far and even when we add the games against Rice and UTSA that still should be true. In fact, very few teams in the country have played 4 or less quad 4 games. DI Men's Basketball Rankings - NCAA Men's Basketball NET Rankings | NCAA.com

If in fact your topic was actually a subtle plea for assistance with a medical issue, I have heard that in the Alamo City they make a salve from used KFC chicken grease that brings relief to the "problems".

Have you been to Ruston? Boca Raton is no Ruston and that's not subject to debate.

In the Fall of 2012 at a MGC event at Metzlers BBQ Johnny Jones said to me "We have a new recruit Clarke Overlander who led his team to a State Title and was District MVP and he is a great shooter who is going to light up the scoreboard, He was a great shooter in high school, is in practice, and he is a gym rat." I am sure all that was true and I was excited to see him play at the time. Sometimes all the above factors don't "translate to the game". He transferred to Arkansas Tech after his freshman year.
