Won't that depend on the pay (NIL).

Dennis Gates only Head Coaching experience was at Cleveland State and his record over 3 years was 50-40(.556). He was subsequently hired as Head Coach by Missouri. Daniyal Robinson, the next Coach at Cleveland State, has only had Head Coaching experience there and in 3 years his record was 65-42 (.607). What does SEC play being different from Horizon play have to do with those facts?
-
He has a higher winning percentage than his predecessor who is now the Head Coach at Missouri after coaching 3 seasons at Cleveland State. However, his predecessor did win the Horizon Championship. Also, he was tied for 2nd, 7th, and tied for 2nd in Horizon play.

Huss has been impressive as a head coach. At 6'9" coach would be a big change. https://highpointpanthers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/alan-huss/1538

If he is the hire, then we should do everything we can to keep Phil Forte. Make him Associate Head Coach or something. Since continuity has worked in the past, perhaps I have a bias in favor of keeping existing Staff Members.

I am on board with this choice. He is young and I am sure he is hungry for an opportunity to prove himself.

it’s perhaps mildly conceivable that Hunter could still somehow leave the Wave for the newly-vacant job at AAC rival North Texas. Coaches have followed denials with exits in the past, and Tulane has seen several notable figures exit for other jobs in the last few years, including football coach Willie Fritz (to Houston) and AD Troy Dannen (to Washington; he’s now at Nebraska). if you enjoy seeing mid-major teams and underdog programs have success, the NIT has played out in your favor. No, there were not many power conference teams represented to begin with, but each of the teams had to win three games to reach the semifinals and the four mid-major schools left standing did just that. The NIT's updated bracket has something the NCAA Tournament could never fathom

I will never forgive UNT for what they did to us

I think if we were in their shoes we would see it as underwhelming. No NCAA appearances, no championships, and if you pulled up posts from a year ago you would find that large numbers on this board were opposed to any contract extension based on last year's performance. I personally think WVU is making a good hire, but I am not a WVU fan.

Did they ever buy tickets or attend games? Likely not, and this is just the latest excuse they make.

So that Wren could, if he wanted, hire Grant at his next stop. This should have never been approved by the President or BOR. However, it could have been Grant who wanted this provision.

Tylor Perry liked it here and so did Grant McCasland but sometimes that is not enough.

You mean this type of buyout? Hodgson‘s A-State contract calls for a $900,000 buyout. South Florida hires Bryan Hodgson as new head men’s basketball coach Or even this level buyout? Texas Tech is also expected to pay North Texas $750,000 to buy out the remainder of McCasland’s contract since he left before July 1, 2023. The buyout was $1.5 million, but the contract Between McCasland and North Texas shows that amount is reduced by 50 percent if Wren Baker is no longer the UNT athletics director or employed by UNT. UNT’s Grant McCasland signs six-year contract, becomes 19th Texas Tech men’s basketball coach

What kind of scheduling conflict?!
MCMLXXX replied to ScreamingEaglesFan's topic in Mean Green Basketball
1. I like the confidence that the AD had in our ability to make the NCAA Tournament thus not being concerned about scheduling the Super Pit on a random Tuesday night after the regular season was over. 2. Someone on this board needs to give a big gift for a new facility dedicated to Athletics only. 3. Some people wouldn't be satisfied even if the AD scheduled 7 home football games.
