Texas Rangers 2016
EagleMBA replied to FirefightnRick's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Being a stand-up guy, I accept responsibility for that cluster-f last night. I felt it coming. Maybe tonight we will suck it up and move on to victory. Lets take two of the next three and get the hell out of Oakland. -
Plenty of incentive here for the ladies! Win two games and they might get a shot at Notre Dame in the semi-final game. That would be fun!

Texas Rangers 2016

YES! I like where we are at the moment. But I am a nervous Nelly this morning because we're headed into a four-game series on the road with the last place team in our division, after taking a series from the team on our tail. We are ripe for a letdown...and that scares me. -

I believe the "drop dead date" is Thursday, June 30. It wouldn't hurt to cheat up a day or two as an abundance of caution. Administration could go from SNAFU to total chaos later next week. Not saying I expect that...I would just hedge my bet if I were you.

Resurrect "Lock The Gate", with a twist. Lock him out!

Tolleson has not been himself. Apparently his father's health issues are in his head. Bannister has to give him a shot at getting back in stride...but against Seattle?? Tolleson needs to go to Frisco or Round Rock until he gets his mojo back IMO. I know they are trying to support him in his time of need but our lead is down to three games! Beltre's hammie has me concerned because he is such a leader and they need him on the field. -
Shooting at Love Field

Here we go again...OBEY VERBAL COMMANDS from an officer (and don't bring a big rock to a gunfight)! -
Texas Rangers 2016
EagleMBA replied to FirefightnRick's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Yessir! I saw that this morning when I checked the late scores (bedtime for me comes earlier as the seasons pass). This is a tough road trip and I worry about a letdown against Oakland after Seattle. One game at a time. -
This. IMO its the best way for Baylor alumni to distance themselves from the crap that went on and place blame where it is deserved. I can imagine that Baylor alumni are still feeling shock and horror after this second round of unpleasantness in the last thirteen years or so. I certainly know how I would feel if it was UNT being drug through the mud.

They also insured that they can be no worse than tied with Seattle, even if they step in it for all three of the coming series with Seattle. Hopefully the Rangers will not lay down. -
Maybe we shouldn’t have zoos
EagleMBA replied to Skipper's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
At least those zoo animals have Medicaid, Subsidized Housing, and Food Stamps. In a lot of ways their plight is similar to a large segment of our population. -
Ah hah! Ronda Rousey in Mean Green gear, in a cage at midfield, takes on Eugene Levy Scrappy. Helluva crowd-building promotion idea.

I have one somewhere and have been meaning to look for it. Back in the Fouts days many of us had tags made and wore them. I went to a sign shop and had it engraved; it attached with a magnetic backing. I have been intending to do this this year...thanks for reminding me.

2016 Athlon Rankings have been released
EagleMBA replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
Those Florida Gators have slipped all the way down to number 20 and have offensive issues. Upset special! We've got 'em right where we want 'em! -
Definitely resembles posterior Eagle plumage. As opposed to these examples. NOT Eagles!

My preference is jalapeno with a yellow, cheesy substance flowing from it when you bite down. Runs down your chin and gets on one's clothes.

Small steps! I want to be able to throw a sausage wrap as far as I can and hit someone in my section first. But, nonetheless, wouldn't it be nice?

MGB breaking news -- Dickenson named UNT acting AD
EagleMBA replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Probably. You can look at it that way, or you can look at it like this...set the AD on a new foundation of rock. I don't think we're going to be too happy with the current sand foundation going forward. JMO. -
MGB breaking news -- Dickenson named UNT acting AD
EagleMBA replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Just a guess here, no information. If I was Ernie...and if I was willing to come up with some more cash to fund AD objectives...but if I wanted an opinion that I could trust concerning the real, unvarnished state of affairs in the AD...I might bankroll some management consulting to get the truth. MGB breaking news -- Dickenson named UNT acting AD
EagleMBA replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Normally I would agree with that. What is called for here, and what may be in play, is the hiring of a workout AD to get a handle on the mess and make tough decisions. I voiced an opinion in another post a while back that that would be one way to go. If "Mr. Right" is available out there, go for it. Otherwise, "Mr. Big Gonads" can go to work now on fixing things. Many summers ago I was in the LBO / Restructuring business and saw how that works first hand. -

"Plano-based Eastman & Beaudine is one of the nation's leading executive search firms in sports and entertainment, providing assessment and counsel to universities seeking to build their senior athletic leadership teams. Kuehne holds an MBA and is the founder and Senior Managing Partner of the Westlake-based investment firm Double Eagle Capital Management, LP. Sicuro has more than 30 years of experience with public and private companies and has provided growth and turnaround leadership for companies ranging from $50 million to more than $4 billion in annual revenues." BINGO! The bolded part in the quote above is what is called for here, IMO.
