    They earned that day off tomorrow! 106 games down...56 to go. That three game visit to Houston next weekend looks like a big deal.

    I have received a couple of letters re: MGC donation but nothing in writing re: tickets. I am thinking I read August 15 somewhere, sometime. Anything later than that would be flirting with disaster.

    I definitely agree with that. I suspect his phones, computer, and Skype have been/will be hot, wherever he is physically at the moment.

    I usually accept your posts without question. However, you raised my suspicions so I checked the USM site. As I have suspected for a long time, old what's-his-name had a B.S. !

    It would be NICE to have him on site ASAP but I don't think the timetable is unreasonable. Dudes, I moved 500 miles for a new job once. Had to sell a house, buy a house and pack up for the movers. Had a wife and two small children, just like him. Cut him some slack, I would like him to be focused and hit the ground running on August 22. JMHO.

    I hope this is not the kiss of death...12 more outs at this writing and the Rangers will put another game on the ASStros and the Marinaras. They are both big losers tonight!

    Sorry I didn't articulate that thought very well. I meant that what is done is done...no do-overs. Old what's-his-name is history and Baker is the next man up. I am excited about what he brings to the table based on what he has already accomplished elsewhere. I am definitely looking forward to seeing him attack our problems with his proven skills.

    We will never live another minute in the past. Next man up, lets see what you got! I've never seen him quoted, but I've always thought that Smatty was a basketball man...how could he not be? Couple that with Wren (he has shown he knows basketball) and I conclude that our wandering in the wilderness is about over where basketball is concerned.

    My children were in grade school when both of those guys were born! (Wren and Seth) Right now, I'm VERY happy for the apparent direction UNT athletics is headed.

    RE: the SMUt game, I think we will get a bump from people genuinely curious to see what SL can put on the field on such short notice. Couple this with some promotion of the game and we will have a decent crowd...no sellout. People will see a competitive game and a team that doesn't quit, because I just can't see less from this coaching staff. No illusions about how well we will do over the course of the season, just give me competitive and they will come. JMHO. Knock off SMUt and Butt. Now the new AD has something to promote and we should see attendance rising. We pray to the Lord.

    I would suggest a decent increase in base pay, and make it competitive within CUSA. Then, load that contract with incentives. This is a young, energetic guy and he understands pay for performance. Let him make a LOT of money if he brings home the bacon! Caveat: Feathering your own nest by extending the current basketball coach should not be one of those incentives.

    Stand up to old what's-his-name for 15 years and try to influence decisions...or worse, he might have! I think he is a good soldier who just went along to get along. He must go now.
