  1. I hear you, Harry, but this old dog has seen a lot of improbable shit happen over the years (starting with Paul Hornung in Notre Dame Stadium). I've made several road trips of the kind you describe, only to feel disemboweled at the end...but they were fun. My only consolation is that it is a game...played with a strange ball that takes odd bounces...and I hope to live to see the ball bounce our way. You have no chance of ever experiencing that if you don't play the games. Support the Mean Green, win or lose, as they line up and take their best shot to rock the world! There are a lot of story lines here...handing the Gators a loss would be the stuff movies are made of.
  2. OK, Rangers, time to suck it up and play hard! Nice to have a day off...now back to work. The "magic number" is still 8. We are still 3 wins ahead of Cleveland for home-field advantage, they have 16 to play and we have only 15 games left. The Marinaras are 8.5 games behind us and have won 8 games in a row...Daddy used to say "The dog that shits fast don't shit long!". Let's hope Dad was right, and he might be since the ASStros go head-to-head with the Marinaras and it is do-or-die for them, being 10.5 back. They have no shot at the wild card if they don't scortch the Marinaras. We, on the other hand, get the AAAzzz...what could go wrong? Answer, plenty. We just can't seem to beat the teams we should beat. Time to do it tonight! Go Rangers!
  3. The Mean Green has them right where we want them!!! GMG!
  4. Nah! He is going to "resign" and walk away...but they are going to pay him for a year or so.
  5. I remember listening to Mack Brown's postgame show on the radio after getting to my car. He praised Booger repeatedly and called him an All-American
  6. They gave their senior cheerleader the title "Mastur Gator".
  7. He has started a franchising operation. His buddy RV schooled him on the essentials.
  8. Fun Facts: The capacity is OFFICIALLY 88,548 ...but they routinely pack in 90,000; to risinggreen's point, the field's surface is natural (Bermuda Grass). Note to Equipment Staff: bring along several boxes of long cleats. P.S. - It should be fun...maybe Mr. Fine will not hesitate to slide this week.
  9. Plumm, please allow me, your humble servant, to suggest two names for inclusion: "Blue Lou" Marini and Tom "Bones" Malone. One O'Clock (both), BS&T (Marini), The Blues Brothers Band (both), CBS Orchestra (Malone), and other credits. Also, I nearly forgot Meatloaf!
  10. Yessir! Looks like the Marinaras will not be civil and lose a game for us. Nonetheless, the "magic number" is down to 8.
  11. The ASStros do indeed have a good ballclub. It is almost eerie the way we seem to "have their number" this year. As for the Rangers, it is downright strange that they play sub-.500 ball against sub-500 teams, while playing great against the winning teams. Don't get me wrong, that is good as the Rangers head toward the playoffs.
  12. As the stock brokers say, "past performance does not necessarily predict future performance". I sense our offense is about to sync up and when they do they are going to go off on somebody. Maybe this is the week...maybe not.
  13. It was worth staying up through extra innings to be able to drive another nail! Looks like Seattle will win and keep pace, remaining 9 1/2 games back. We have 17 games left in the regular season, Marinaras have 18 and are 9 losses behind us. That makes the "magic number" 9, assuming the Marinaras hold on to a 6-run lead tonight. Go Rangers!!
  14. They recruit a lot of students from College Station!
  15. Here is a link to their coach's presser. I posted it elsewhere, but there is some good info in here. http://floridagators.com/watch/?Archive=4594
  16. I know I was a toddler when we whipped them in 1947. Made me so excited I was incontinent! A win on Saturday could elicit the same reaction.
  17. They have a very active tailgating scene...and they're coming for Tony's balls!
  18. OK, I'll take a stab...so many variables. Swamp Things 42 Mean Green 28 but it is close for three quarters, then their depth overcomes our valiant effort.
  19. FYI, here is the presser from the Reptiles coach. Gives you some insight to reptilian thinking. http://floridagators.com/watch/?Archive=4594
  20. Much too civil!! We need billboard material, LL. :)
  21. I agree that on paper we don't pull it off. We are still putting together all the pieces and developing an identity. I feel really good about the coaching staff and the way they relate to the players. It looks like our guys have bought into the system, it is just a matter of coming together on execution. Sooner or later this team's light is going to come on and they will have one of "those" games. As for the Reptiles, they go on the road to Tennessee after us so maybe they think we're a breather. Let's give them our best shot and see where we stand at the end of the day.
  22. We're DUE! It is a game...the football sometimes bounces funny...you never know. GMG!
  23. This is early, but since I was proactive and set my DVR just now I wanted to say that I found the game on U-Verse 1605. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. our time.
  24. This will be the team's footwear next week...
