Texas Rangers 2016
EagleMBA replied to FirefightnRick's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
YESSSSS!!! Take care of business tonight, Rangers, and you clinch ! One more nail to drive and I can ice the elbow. I want it to be in good shape when I get to drive a nail to celebrate the home-field advantage. Boston and Cleveland are only one game back in the win column, guys...we can't let them snatch it away from us in the last nine games. Go Rangers! I was just thinking on the keyboard on August 9th when I made the post below. Now it looks like this is what it is going to take. -
This week's episode was the best so far this season! Just like women...some are better than others, but they're all good.

Well...woulda, coulda, shoulda. No help from other teams and therefore no movement last night. It would be nice to clinch at home but the Rangers can't afford to back off. Do you hear that ominous rustle in the bushes just behind us? That is the Beantowners sneaking up on us for the home field advantage...gotta WIN!! -

Yes, it is true...our "magic number" is 2. Just remember what the man sings about that..."two is just as bad as one...its the loneliest number since the number one". :) I still get to drive a nail. -

Only two more things to add: We are three games up in the win column for home field advantage over Boston and Cleveland, and... -
Absolutely. There is no telling how far he could have gone...minimum college education and a decent job, perhaps much more. Very sad to see that happen. No information, just a gut feeling that he fell into the wrong crowd instead of bonding with his football family. Reading the "Crime Alert" above makes me think some doper dirtbags used him as their "muscle" threat and took him along on their little capers.

This will be a tussle because they are cornered, wounded Owls. Our Offense will get untracked, helped by one score from the Defense. UNT 35 Chinese Bowel Movements 21

Sorry...this is a SERIOUS thread about a serious incident, but I couldn't resist being a smartass!

Agree. What troubles me most, after considering the sentiment in your quote above, is the aggressive nature of the act. This ain't your basic shoplifting at WalMart!

Sounds perfect for Florida!

I've got BAD news, BAD news, BAD news, GOOD news, GOOD news and GOOD news! The Rangers lost again; the Marinaras won again; the "magic number" is stuck on 5; Cleveland lost and we still have two wins on them for home-field; twelve games left to play in the regular season for the Rangers; and at the end of the day we have an 8.5 game lead on the Marinaras. The team needs to put together a little run this week and nail down the division. Go Rangers! There is a lot left to play for, time to step up! -
The first thing that comes to mind is they are 0 - 3, playing at home, and dangerous. If the team that showed up in Florida shows up in Houston, we could come home 2 - 2.

I found myself thinking "When are we going to see Morris?" as the game wound down. It would have been good for him to get some of that game experience...but that D would have eaten him alive. I know it was almost "damned if you do...damned if you don't" when it came to playing Fine the whole game, because I worried about what that defense might do to his confidence; I guess we'll see next week. If he comes out strong, doesn't exhibit "happy feet", and delivers the ball on target I'll quit worrying. He has already seen the best and survived it.

It also looks like two possible facemask or hands to the face violations by FLA in the same clip.

Well...Yu shit his pants and the Rangers go down. BUT WAIT! The ASStros bailed us out by beating the Marinaras! "Magic Number" is now down to 5. Unfortunately, Cleveland won and is now 2 wins behind us. Oh well, drive a nail and come back tomorrow. -
Amen! Amen to all of the above posts. I saw the same game. In my season record prediction, I cited my concern about the O-Line. The coaches must find a way to patch it up some way.
-
Well...the D exceeded my expectations and prediction by 10 points. I AM DAMNED PROUD OF THEIR EFFORT! The O underachieved by 28 points, according to me. Overall improvement is necessary, especially O-Line, if we're going to be successful.
-
Agree. It allows good coverage and often cuts down on the return. Good directional punting too.
-
Agree. It looked to me like when Wheeler shed the blocker, the blocker tripped Wheeler and shoved him. Wheeler lunged for the quarterback, body not under control. Totally unintentional IMO. McElwain is a crybaby.

Our guys can make this a VERY bad day for the State of Florida! Just seeing the scores should give them added encouragement and reinforce Littrell's message.

ANOTHER great comeback last night! Was Lucroy a fabulous pickup or what? AND, the ASStros came through by crapping in the Marinaras. "MAGIC NUMBER" is now 6. Cleveland kept pace but we're still up by 3 games for AL's best. Fourteen games to play, Rangers, keep grinding. -
What do you know of our next opponent (Florida Gators)?

Reading this, it occured to me that something could be attempted. The impetus would most likely have to come from Smatty's level. How about attempting to organize a "Celebrity Alumni Homecoming"?
