    I second that. Toronto shelled our three best starters and we left so many runners stranded in the last two games it was shameful. Banister and Daniels have some off-season work and personnel decisions to make. I really want to see Beltre get to the World Series again, he is a great player and that would top off his Hall of Fame career.

    It sure didn't seem like there were that many in attendance. There were a LOT of empty seats in my area that are normally occupied...always. It felt a lot closer to Butt-Cookman's 15,609. The tailgate scene also seemed to be the most sparsely-attended, least-energized of the year so far. I am a positive supporter but those are the facts as I sensed and observed them.

    It obviously came as a shock to Marshall and its fans...but our team came together last night and WE KICKED THEIR ASSES! I hope this wasn't the best game we play this year, but it shows what the team can do. We got some revenge for that 1988 game, Marshall...payback is a bitch!

    No hitting with runners on base. Head to the silverware drawer and find a fork...I think we're done! :(

    Breakout game - all three teams contribute to the scoreboard. Special teams gets 7; Defense gets 7; and Offense gets 21; that adds up to 35. Marshall meets our defense and only manages 28. MEAN GREEN 35 BUFFALO CHIPS 28 Mark it down!

    From the depths of a seventy-one year old, Shiner-fueled mind...with a dash of dementia. :) I have been crying out for several years for one of our great student musicians to stand and sound "El Deguello" at the beginning of the fourth quarter. That is certainly more signifying of our intentions than "Hey Baby".

    Really bad! That could have a dampening effect on our home-field advantage. The league has screwed us.

    I do too...in its proper context (which is what FFR and others are saying). In my mind, playing "Hey Baby" signifies "Who's your Daddy, Beatch?" to the opposition. We shouldn't play that when they are beating us. JMHO.

    Good question, oldguy. I am under the impression that it is being done at other schools, but the animation may be the key, as you note. It would be worth checking the book. Hell, next year the NCAA may impose "The North Texas Rule". Even a still picture of that witch would be more effective than a cute, bushy-tailed rodent.

    My two cents...it seems like a great idea to put something on the video board that is totally unexpected and potentially startling. Something not UNT-icon related. I posted a couple examples earlier. Here are others: Use a different one at each opportunity. Who knows how the kicker might react to a well-timed witch with glowing eyes.

    Looks like they blew it! Technical problem? Most of his pressers run over 20 minutes, so what did we miss?

    Many forces at work here, for and against attendance. After sorting my research data through my proprietary, double-secret algorithm, the attendance will be: 16,758 Not saying that is what I want it to be...just saying it is what it is. It is a damned shame that we won't go over 20,000 for a quality program like Marshall.

    No problem with Fine. He can execute what he is given. Until he is able to punish opposing defenses enough, they are all going to look at film and copycat what works. Maybe it is time for the OC to slip in a couple of new wrinkles this week to take advantage of those kamikaze defensive stunts, hurt them, and make them back off a little.

    The Thundering Turd is due for some payback! They are 2 - 0 against us, and we definitely need some revenge for that 1988 game. Let's make their first trip to Denton one they won't forget! I feel better about this week because I think they are not as strong as the MUTS.
