  1. For the record, I cast my ballot for GM. Looking at the big picture, the whole athletics picture is now much brighter* from the AD on down to the tiddly-winks team. In less than a year, we seem to have left the outhouse and are on the path to the penthouse. It started with SL's performance, but within the constraints/spirit of this thread I give the nod to GM. JMHO. This coming fall and winter is going to be a good time for the long-suffering faithful! * Pluses - WB, SL, GM and Minuses - LJ, RV, TB
  2. In my lifetime I have had the good fortune to meet and observe in action a few great basketball coaches. With that frame of reference for comparison, I sense that McCasland is the real deal. I think we're on the way...mark it down!
  3. This was apparently (to this guy) all well strategized and timed to maximum benefit to all concerned. It was executed with Seal Team Six precision! My hat is off to TheWren for a job well done.
  4. That's what I was trying to say in an earlier post directed to him. Thanks, Harry.
  5. What it says to me is that basketball people are in charge and they are serious about putting a competitive team on the floor.
  6. I second that emotion! Can't wait to see what he can do with our guys, plus what he may bring with him.
  7. Agree with you about your AD. I listened to every minute of his presser and he is clearly in charge in Jonesboro and knows his business. Color me impressed! I predict that he will find you a great coach and your program will continue on its upward trajectory. The timing is awkward because I suspect you'll hire someone who is coaching in the tournament right now. Good luck to AState. The other posters are just having a little fun with you...no widespread disrespect here, IMO.
  8. I agree, and some sort of petty, meaningless payback is in order. Let's get some revenge and send that $500,000 to them in pennies, via a Brink's truck delivery to the AD's office. What's his name? Mohajir? Reminds me of a damned sweater!
  9. PLUS, from the video above it is obvious that Mosely knows him pretty well.
  10. It sounded to me like AState offered $400,000 and the AD was semi-shocked at the amount UNT offered.
  11. I did a quick online search concurrently with you posting this. The best data I came up with was a listing Harry put together around 2014 - 2015. Maybe he can post that until it gets updated. I was surprised that there were several coaches above Benford, some in the $500 - 600K range. BTW, looks like I'll be breaking my self-imposed exile from the SuperPit!
  12. That would complete a helluva one-two punch! Hodge would make the hire that much sweeter.
  13. What the hell...let him have a shot at it!
  14. You sound a tad Cross to me. Drink a Shiner and call me in the morning.
  15. In other news of interest, UTA ... I'll bet they're a little Cross right now! Who said "a little kitty never hurt anyone"?
  16. Sorry about those horny toads. One of my father's often-used phrases in similar circumstances was "The dog that shits fast...don't shit long!". They must have let the big Kansas win go to their heads.
  17. UNT sororities have planned a salute to Lee at the spring graduation ceremony. The girls have already started practicing their special moment.
  18. Mama said "You've got to beat the best if you want to be the best!". I'm not advocating jumping into the deep end, but we must develop a plan (multi-year) to build the schedule as we rebuild the program. That is how we will raise this phoenix from the ashes and get some respect. JMO.
  19. Speaking of which, I see those horny toads knocked off Kansas today. No toad lover here, but you have to admire how they were able to get it done.
  20. I concur fully with the above comments.
  21. Very powerful opponent plus fatigue factor equals end of season. Congratulations Ladies, you represented us well and we're proud of you.
  22. I agree with Harry. Good man, good character, and a good eye for talent. His downfall was how he directed that talent from buzzer to buzzer, IMO. I sincerely wish him good luck in the future.
  23. Down 11 at the half, but the ladies are competitive. Go Mean Green.
