  1. IMO you are allowed to say that...but it doesn't make it true.
  2. Avian fetish? Not that there is anything wrong with that. Whatever turns your crank!
  3. I didn't take it as pointed at me, I just took the opportunity to try to express my true feelings. The multiple parties investigating this mess will surely come up with the answers, the sooner the better.
  4. Not me. I want as much light as possible to be shone on the roaches, and let the chips fall where they may. In my heart I believe that this is not widespread...in order to prove that, you have to open all the cabinets and shine the light in there to find all the roaches. There is no joy in doing that but it must be done.
  5. Some cancers have a tendency to metastasize. This could get uglier. Pray that it has now been fully excised and is not spreading.
  6. Maybe, but if you stood those guys in a circle it would definitely be a DOPE RING!
  7. Editorial Note, FWIW: Many, many moons ago, when I was a young banker, I quickly learned that the most valuable of the "Cs of Credit" was "CHARACTER". I have learned over the years that "character" rules in almost every human interaction, not just lending.
  8. I sincerely hope that this little enterprise the guys were running was limited in scope and actors, and that it has been derailed. Looks like BJ got caught early, before he could really get the business humming. Someone had to initiate this operation and I hope the investigation clearly identifies the entrepreneur.
  9. Looks like the Administration is on it, bigtime. Good for them! Let's get the whole problem identified and excised from the University ASAP.
  10. Well, here is a chance to piss on GT's parade. Too bad it is so early in the season...guess we'll see how quickly Coach McCasland and his staff can get our guys to play together. I like this test.
  11. The "Power 6" from one critic's perspective:
  12. Hey, American! I got 'ya Power 6 RIGHT HERE !!
  13. This has to be a better move for him than going to New Mexico. Assuming that he is able to perform physically, he could have a good season. The pressure is on and I wish him the best.
  14. I wanted to laugh about the utter stupidity on display by those players...but on reflection it is not a damn bit funny. Actually, very sad. How does a coaching staff and AD deal with something like that? At least it wasn't a Baylor thing.
  15. I agree with Brett's concern with "team chemistry". That is somewhat mitigated in my mind by the fact that McCasland is so familiar with many of them. It is not as if he just pulled names out of a hat or threw darts at names on his recruiting board. He knows exactly what mix of skills he needs to run his offense and he will have them playing together. I believe!
  16. If I'd a knowed I was goin to live this long, I'd a taken better care of my body!
  17. Is it just my bad luck or timing? On 35 I almost always have to slow to <10 mph for an extended stretch, and sometimes have to come to a dead stop for a minute or two at a time...without passing any wrecks. Is it just me?
  18. Where I grew up there were large neighborhoods of people of predominantly Italian, Irish, Belgian, German, Hungarian and Polish heritage. The "Polish Hour" was a regular radio show on Sundays, in Polish, with lively polka music. Brave Combo always brings back memories for me when they crank out a little "nuclear polka". Those red octagonal street signs you see at intersections were said to really mean "Stop Teasing Our Polacks". When you used the word "hunky" in those days it referred to someone of Hungarian heritage...my how times have changed! Know what? We all got along just fine, there was good-natured banter, and no one really got pissed off.
  19. Thanks for the tip! I checked the map and I have to hit FM2499 at a higher point because I'm coming across the Bush. Looks like I could easily cross I-35 on Hebron Pkwy/Round Grove Rd (if the construction doesn't prevent it), continue west on Flower Mound Rd., and hit FM2499. I'm considering coming to the Denton Arts & Jazz Festival next Saturday to see Aaron Neville so that would be a good opportunity to check that route out.
  20. Looks like a 4-star linebacker prospect! Please protect him from insidious inquiries from nefarious recruiters.
  21. True. They were working on it in the 80s when I drove it regularly. It has NEVER been as bad, as far back as I can recall, as it has been during the last three years. You must be very alert, especially at night. I have tried the DNT to 380 as a "backdoor" plan but have found construction out there too.
