    When I first saw it used I was confused. After much thought, I attributed the use of Ray as the ULTIMATE upvote and save it for that. The regular green upvote is nice and taken to heart...but when you get a "Ray", now that is special. It is recognition but it also connotes granting superpowers we all wish we had.

    After reading this thread so far, I have ONE unsolicited word of advice for Tristan... She camouflaged it well, but now she has been outed! ALSO Tristan, when you move on, stay away from any chick you might meet named Isolde! Trust me, it might be fun for awhile but it could only end tragically. I have your best interests at heart.

    Here is a snippet from "Upstart Crow", one of my favorite BBC comedy shows about Shakespeare. This is dedicated to SteaminWillie and Lifer. I do hope KERA will air it again in the fall so that I can continue building my English vocabulary and "way with words". EDIT: I apparently attached more than just the snippet. I have discovered that there is a full episode after. Do feel free to stop and move on, if your heart so desires, after viewing the snippet (which makes my point). EDIT 2: I discovered that there is a drop-down box in the upper left which takes you to other shows and snippets. If you wish to be regaled further, try #3, for example...perhaps peruse the list.     Switching to physicality, I sincerely hope that his body is ready for the demands he is going to make on it. I expect the coaches to have a leash on him to some extent so that he doesn't overdo it in the first week and find himself re-injured. Bryce...we want to see you lined up on September 1 and thereafter. Please ease back into game shape.

    Wow! The hits just keep on coming!! Has there ever been a NT / UNT player that racked up so many pre-season award mentions? For that matter, how about overall, as a group? This bunch is lighting it up! Congratulations to Mr. Fine and the team. Now the other side...is this proliferation of award mentions due to the proliferation of pre-season awards? Davy O'Brien, Walter Camp, Biletnikoff and a few others have history. Some I just heard of this year.

    I sincerely appreciate your consoling words. Really, I do. But Vegas still has us as a 3.5-point favorite and, since the game is at our house, that is a tossup. Very scary...I need a beer now!

    Allow me to put in writing what many of you are secretly thinking but afraid to say. Please withhold the arrows and brickbats until I finish typing. My green blood is pumping wildly and I am enjoying everything I am reading and the recognition our deserving players are receiving. I am a vocal supporter and look forward to an outstanding season. Late at night, in a nightmare, I see folks with scissors clipping stories and pasting them in scrapbooks. Meanwhile, I sniff horseshit and look out the window to see a herd of ponies approaching at full gallop armed with knives. They eviscerate us and by the time the team recovers we are 0 - 3 on the season. When I wake up, kick off the sweaty sheets, and drink two cups of strong black coffee, I see that the sun has risen and that it is not yet September 1. Until that date passes and we start off with a W, I will have those nasty dreams. There is too much history in that series and we have plenty of catching up to do.
