  1. If it is the punt I think you are discussing, that was a disaster waiting to happen IMO. That ball had so much spin on it (end over end) that it was going to bounce off the first thing it touched. It reminded me of the commercial with the pig hanging out the car window with a pinwheel...the ball was spinning like that pinwheel. I was glad he let that one go, as were the folks around me.
  2. Eagles have big beaks Cardinals yellow peckers Size will win the day
  3. N O R T H !!!
  4. Well, Dickey knew us well...according to his assessment, we're all mudders!
  5. Agree! That is called leadership...Fine has it and Hicks doesn't have a clue; he seems to be all about himself. Did you happen to catch that little interview with him tonight? The interviewer said "If you could ask (What'shisname, the ex-NFL QB announcer) one thing, what would it be?". Hicks said "Whats the biggest difference between the college and professional game for a quarterback?". The putz already visualizes himself at the next level. Don't want to help SMU but I would get someone ready and bench Hicks if I was Sonny. Even a game or two might improve things.
  6. Last week, and again tonight, I thought I detected a SMUt tendency to play with energy and aggressiveness until they hit a little adversity. Just a small setback seemed to take the starch right out of them. As for Hicks, his body language says to me that he gets a bad attack of the givashits after a screwup or two. They need coaching on the Hilltop! JMHO.
  7. ESPN needs the money. There are probably "incentives" in the broadcast contract.
  8. After seeing Hicks in action against us and watching him in this game, he is unimpressive. I hope Dykes has someone on the depth chart to work in this year.
  9. That makes us look good, on a comparative basis. It probably won't hold up but it still looks competitive.
  10. It wasn't just ONE...hell, he played "Flight of the Bumblebees"!
  11. I have lined up alternate transportation tomorrow as an abundance of caution. I wonder if my Blue Lot pass will work.
  12. True. And I hope someone is taking notes. Go to school on this game/these conditions. Looks like kicking will be iffy too (expected that).
  13. Looks like our game weather is shaping up to be like what is happening at SMUt tonight. I hope our coaches are taking notes.
  14. The rain is playing hell with the passing game and, to some extent, the running game. This is what I was worried about for us tomorrow (posted my "nervous Nellie" thoughts somewhere in another post).
  15. Look at your calendar, man! We're in Oktoberfest!
  16. My take was that was their way of building up to SMU game. In other words low point ending last year (Troy ass-kicking), working hard to improve and fix problems, pre-game locker room peptalk, then SMUt triumph, happy ever after. That was my impression of what they were thinking.
  17. From your lips to God's ears, but even a couple of Tech alumni I know refer to them as the Red Faders.
  18. It is a contraction of the words "TWIN" +
  19. I enjoyed the quick recap of where we ended last year and the emphasis on the spring and summer/fall efforts to get back on track. Great segue to the SMUt game IMO.
  20. IMO, field conditions may dictate that we play a more conservative game resulting in a lower potential score. I shudder to think what could happen to Fine's stats if he is trying to throw a wet ball in the rain and receivers are trying to catch said ball. Runners holding onto the ball will be difficult enough. Forget the stats, just earn a win and move on. JMHO.
  21. I saw people all around me that brought their folding seats. I don't know if they were given a stern look and a finger-wag by the security people, then told not to try it again.
  22. Nice writeup but the score prediction is skewed...and screwed. First, I don't think we would let the game get that lopsided. Second, weather is going to dictate a lower score than that.
  23. No particular reason to annihilate the Cardinals, even if we could on paper. Let's just run out to a good lead, respond when they score, and save our stiffie for the following week.
