  1. I wonder if Biden will flip the coin and remind us that this is a big f'n deal?
  2. Tell Benson to lose our phone number! What part of NO doesn't he understand? The WAC used to have some attraction (but never on a financial basis) and is now a cadaver.
  3. Nothing to measure or think out. Riley is a special athlete and a great young man. I will be forever grateful for his contributions here and I wish him every success in the future. He will be successful in the future on and off the field. It killed me to see him take the physical pounding he did for us and I respect him. Thank you, Riley Dodge.
  4. Per the TV stats posted on the screen, the Badgers outweighed the Frogs by an ASTOUNDING 50 lbs per man. I had to do a doubletake and check the math! With that much difference, some of those Badgers had to be major lardasses. I'm not sayin'...just sayin'.
  5. Tradition should be protected and nurtured. My frame of reference is a pretty high standard...Notre Dame. It was always thrilling to hear the ND band play "When Irish Backs Go Marching By" knowing that they would seamlessly launch into the "Victory March" from it. I suspect that is what originally happened with our music, judging by comments from people who witnessed it. Part of deepening the connection with the University, present students and alumni is sharing the same traditions over a long period of time. We should all fight to draw the line and not change those things which should be sacred IMHO.
  6. Now THAT is what a marching band sounds like. How have we gotten so far away from tradition? I can understand that the Green Brigade wants to be "hip" and change its performances to accommodate contemporary crowds. Having said that, why should the Fight Song and Alma Mater have EVER been altered? One tradition we should return to the campus beginning with the first game in the new stadium is performance of the traditional versions.
  7. Taking advice from the immortal Rodney Daingerfield, I RESOLVE TO LOOK OUT FOR NUMBER ONE AND TRY MY DAMNEDEST NOT TO STEP IN NUMBER TWO!
  8. Good morning, Elisabeth Warren. You got mail! There were no mushy personal comments. Regrettable, because I like the name Elisabeth. If I ever have that operation, I might choose to be an Elisabeth.
  9. Before JJ got the program turned around and built momentum, some of you posters wanted to run him off! I remember making posts supporting him and asking for patience back then. Now we like and appreciate him and his work and I think he truly loves UNT back. RV would do anything reasonable to keep JJ happy, so it will take more than another 39 cents and a Charms Blowpop to convince him to leave us. If he would ever move on it would be for a significant upward move for him and his family and you could never begrudge a guy taking an opportunity like that.
  10. Eaglette dumped it for Time Warner a year ago because U-Verse had an annoying habit of going all pixelated and lock up for minutes at a time. I passed on U-Verse because of her experience and went with DirecTV, which I really like. The HD is phenomenal on my HD TV. In all fairness to U-Verse, she lives in North Dallas inside LBJ and I live in Richardson. You may have excellent results if the U-Verse infrastructure where you live is reasonably new. Also, they may have improved their signal distribution in the last year.
  11. Brett, I'm so sorry to get the news. Hang in there, we are all praying for your rapid and complete recovery.
  12. In our offense Brent will have to pull the ball down and run some, according to what the defense gives him. The video mostly shows off his excellent arm; I can understand his not wanting to run the option.
  13. Very impressive young man! Welcome to the Mean Green, Brent.
  14. The pavers could still be revenue generators. I would spot Mean Joe or Abner or Ken or JaQuay or Booger...etc. a few bucks in their name to see them on the walk. Alumni (like me) should have our names in the pavillion if we want. I think that walk to the field is VERY special and should have the names of former great football players on it. JMO.
  15. I would never disparage a young man such as he, with the heart of a lion. He has punt returner written all over him, but not an every-down back. My heart says one thing but my head says another. My head tells me he could not take the D-1 pounding for even half a season.
  16. SO...how small IS he?
  17. I have wondered and, because of the size of the order, the seating should be specified by now. If they go to the molded seating that SMUt has at Ford we will not need chairbacks. I guess that would be too simple and logical. Perhaps there is a cost differential and we decided not to Pony Up.
  18. Regarding the "named" pavers mentioned for the track from the locker room through the tunnel to the field, how about the sales being restricted to former players? That would create a "corridor of years" for the current generation of players and add something to that experience of taking the field.
  19. I think the answer is your avatar!
  20. OUTSTANDING !!
  21. Congratulations, Chad!!
  22. A former classmate at UTPA and my best man (first wife) was on the faculty at NMSU for several years. He referred to the place simply as "Loose Crotches".
  23. He looks like a real energetic, up-and-comer to me! His leadership would probably be great for our stable of running backs. Another superior Mac hire as far as I'm concerned.
  24. I thought Indiana was on the schedule and coming to Denton.
  25. As far as I am concerned, Coach Mac could put a neck brace on the corpse of Saddam Hussein and name him to coach his linebackers and I would be good with that.
