  1. I second that emotion!
  2. I remember a cheer from the first game I ever attended at NT. I was a new grad student and sat on the student side, where I heard:. " Gimmee a Q! Crowd: Q! Gimmee another Q! Q! Gimmee another Q! Q! Gimmee ANOTHER Q! Q! Whats that SPELL? Four Q!! " Truth.
  3. He was at the beer tent on the left as you enter, along the rock creek. I also saw Hank and JJ at the KNTU tent...repeatedly, as I had to pass that tent coming and going on beer runs.
  4. JOHN!!! Happy Birthday you youngster. I saw you at the Spring Game and I thought to myself how youthful you appeared. You can't always judge a book by its cover. We love you, man.
  5. As one dehydrated Frenchman said to another, what do we do now, Pierre?
  6. I'll be there with Eaglette. I expect to see 3,700 of my closest friends.
  7. Hope you get some while you're there. Paella, of course.
  8. I have such a tag that I had made about six years ago. It was plain block lettering on the wrong shade of green. I think it is a damned good idea and would wear it with pride. I did have a young lady tell me that I didn't look anything like my posts!
  9. OK, it sucked. It sucked in everyone in the room making the hiring decision!
  10. Even JJ struggled for a couple of years and was coming under fire on this board. He had that "something" that inspired the patience necessary to allow him to build his program. SS did not display that "something". To her credit, she obviously had the knowledge to build a great strategic plan...she just wasn't able to execute the plan.
  11. She talked a good game, but we never saw results. You could expect some personnel turmoil in the first year of any new coach, but after that you need positive results and a discernable upward trend. I think the opposite was apparent and she was obviously losing her team. She had to go. Re: the Capps deal, good basketball resume but think twice before you hire a primaDonna, RV. Maybe a man is the way to go this time. JMO
  12. SUMG gave you the best idea yet. I go to the Main Street every year. Roseanne Cash on Saturday night. Bring your folding chairs and get as close to the stage as you want. The best quality art of all the festivals in this area is on display. Continuous entertainment on multiple stages all day. If she is the indoors variety woman, take her to Billy Bob's after some great Tex-Mex at Joe T. Garcia's. Put a couple margaritas in her and you might get lucky. Seriously, the above event is where I will be headed right after the spring game. Always a helluva good time. Now, in all fairness, these things are usually more like scrimmages than a game (although we don't know yet how Coach Mac will do it).
  13. The brochure is excellent and clearly sets out the ticket allocation procedures. I don't know how anyone could bitch about the objectivity and fairness of the process...although I am sure there will be someone who feels shat upon. I ponied-up what I was comfortable in doing, and what I have done for more than a few years now, and I'll let the chips fall where they may as far as points go. If I fall lower in the pecking order it would be because someone wrote a bigger check and that would be all green and all good!
  14. The Mean Green will drop the soap.
  15. When openings like this come up I'm always more concerned about keeping JJ at home than taking the other guy's recruits.
  16. If Lance can hang 100 on Bama and average 165 for the rest he will be there. That is definitely doable!
  17. I wouldn't do the WAC with YOURS!
  18. The message IS football-related! It urges the team to discover what could happen if they collectively thought about beating someone.
  19. Sounds like "Dodge Syndrome" has spread.
  20. We have seen coaches in the past hold back a couple scholarships for high-achieving walk-ons or for May JUCO grads. No idea if Coach Mac thinks that way. Granting a scholarship to a warm body just to use them doesn't seem to be his style. In the words of the fabulous Irma Thomas, "If I can't sell it, I'm just gonna sit on it. I ain't gonna give it away."
  21. You done good!
  22. NO 1AA schools to the Sun Belt! Take LATech and NMST and slam the door shut!
  23. Throw in autographs of RV, Mac and Rawlins and you have a REALLY hot item!
  24. Congratulations and best wishes to Coach Dodge.
