2011 Mean Green Player Adoption Thread
EagleMBA replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
My heart is always down in the trenches with the big uglies. My adopted player the past two seasons graduated, so let me reload with Tevinn Cantly !! We are going to play some defense this year and be nasty, and my adopted player can do that! -
I say "YES". He will dissipate his powers and end up losing if he continues that practice. Abstinence!!

I think he gazes at her green vuvuzela!

This is only the first of a large number of Happy Birthdays in Denton, Texas for you, Coach. I hope to deliver a personal Happy Birthday to you on Saturday (but I will not sing).

My four tickets will go to someone else for any FCS opponents...or maybe go unused. -
For Anyone Listening To Norm Right Now

I think it was Lenny Bruce who said "Eff you! That's nice man...nice. If you want to insult somebody, say 'UN Eff you!'" So, UN Eff you, Dan Beebe!! (It could have been George Carlin) -
The roll-up doors are very cool (no pun intended). It should have a Love Shack atmosphere.

How not to run a state

For people who seem to fancy themselves as highly intelligent, Californians just never seem to "get it". It is probably not because there are not intelligent people left in California but because they have just lost control of the ballot box to the something-for-nothing crowd. Good article! -
"Up In Smoke" comes to mind.

This situation seems to me, upon reflection, as being an indicator of where game attendance ranks in terms of personal priorities. One theory is that people know there will be good walk-up seats available on gameday so they wait to see if the weather will be to their liking, or something comes up that they would enjoy doing more, etc. It all goes back to what numerous posters have said for years: WIN. If we can put some wins in the book, we will put more butts in seats and build more than a casual fanbase. Now you do have to admit that us diehards have not enjoyed the on-field action since 2004; we continue to re-up because we are fully committed and plan our fall activities around the schedule. There just aren't enough of us that think that way...YET. JMHO

I do not feel that way about Fouts, but for those who do there is good news. From the camera it appears that "Jumbo Jr." and the alumni center will obscure the view of Fouts from the new stadium.
-
Yes, Fouts Field has warts. We should not lose sight (no pun intended) of where we have been so that we can fully appreciate where we are at this moment. Fouts will always bring back great memories, and admittedly some not so great, but honor our heritage.

Just so you young guns know, you will still be able to sneak in a flask (and want to) when you are 66, like me! -

A cunning linguist. -
It is always sad to see a player leave the program. Knox earned some PT last year and acquitted himself well. I thought he would contribute more in the next two years. Thank you for your service, Ben, and good luck to you.

What...me worry? If this is not a hoax, I'm glad to see that some journalist has the huevos to give life to that hope which springs eternal in my Mean Green breast.

If I remember correctly, there are 28 seats between aisles. I think there were 11 seats to the left of the "tunnel" and 11 seats to the right. So,in those lower rows affected by the tunnel you start on the south aisle at seat 1 and go to 11 before you get concrete; the row resumes on the other side at seat 18 and ends at the north aisle at seat 28. That is what I remember from yesterday. After you are up about 4 or 5 rows, the seating goes across. I am in 207, row 4, seats 5 - 8 but I think I could have gone across if I needed that many seats. It appeared to me that this would be accurate for all the sections above the walkway where the "tunnel" comes into play. Re-reading your post, I see you are more interested in the lower bowl. You don't have any "tunnel" to contend with until you get over to 103, unless I missed something. -

I selected at 3:50 p.m. yesterday (5/24) and I can tell you I was pleasantly surprised. If you will pardon the expression, it was wide open! If you need up to four seats, it appeared to me that you could sit just about anywhere you wanted between the 45s, high or low. For some reason, we are an odd bunch who like to be constantly crawled over so we buy up the aisle seats. I personally like to be the crawler, not the crawlee so I am a few seats in from the aisle. I really had my pick of almost any row from top to bottom. Hope that encourages you a little. -

I can confirm that most of SEC 105 was open in the first five rows or so. Only the top rows were filling up. I was tempted but after seeing the spring game in Denton's stadium that was similar, I thought that section below the walkway was too close to get good perspective on the field. JMO. Zeke was there and picked about ten minutes before I did. I didn't say "Hi" because he was really busy sending text messages...probably to you! -

Excellent experience! Checked in at the front desk, got checked off on the schedule, and was sent down the hallway to the holding pen. The holding pen had tables and chairs, cold soft drinks, some snacks and maps of the stadium with seats that had been claimed blacked out. I got there a half hour early, relaxed with a Coke Zero, then studied the maps and made some notes. At my appointed time, Kendra escorted me to three rooms. First, I made my seat selection ( SEC 207, ROW 4, Seats 5 thru 8 ). The next room was parking ( Victory Hall ). The last room was seatbacks and final check. You will like the seatbacks this year, they are molded, one piece with generous booty room, and comfortable. They are not padded, so if you are prone to TB bring a little cushion. If you stand regularly, like Fight Song, Alma Mater, critical third downs, etc. you probably will be good for the game without a cushion. I'm above the walkway to be high enough to see that fade route in the corner of the opposite end zone and, hopefully, close plays on the near sideline. The above seat address is approximately the 45 yard stripe on the wingzone side. Further Affiant sayeth not. -
Splendid idea! I'd like nothing better than to bury the hatchet.

Dial 1-900-GET-SOME, per Denise LaSalle. -
Best: Several, but the nod goes to the 2002 NMSU win. The atmosphere in Fouts was ELECTRIC! Worst: The night we had high expectations, scored first, then took it in the shorts from Tulsa. A major humiliation.

I concur with the above. My time is on the afternoon of the 24th and I will post my experience for informational purposes.
