  1. Access to sufficient cash to meet your monthly operating requirements is extremely important, and especially to a yearning-to-be high quality athletic program. The endowment that really counts is in your pants!
  2. This is what I recall also.
  3. Emmitt, Congratulations to you! You done us proud. I can't wait to hear about the fruit peddler that you busted for standing on the corner with his banana waggon.
  4. I was taught that there are three methods for valuing inventories: LIFO FIFO CHEATO You do what makes sense.
  5. I'm giving some thought to a Plan B for the Monroe trip to do something different. The option would be to leave earlier on Friday and drive to Vicksburg, MS (75 miles past Monroe). Then hit Monroe on the way back for the game and stay in Shreveport Saturday night. Something I've wanted to do before but didn't have the time.
  6. DEFINITELY Monroe! I look forward to that trip because I lay up in Shreveport/Bossier City coming and going from the game. Horseshoe or Diamond Jack's.
  7. OUTSTANDING!! Congratulations.
  8. For Shutter, it IS on DirecTV. ESPN2 HD, 209.
  9. S C R O T U M Southern Conference Rivals Of The Utmost Magnitude Our motto: It Takes Balls To Compete In This League!
  10. Count me as solidly on board with a new deal for RV. He has done it the old-fashioned way...he has EARNED IT!
  11. Geez, Mark, I would never have guessed.
  12. Silver, I understand your distaste for the Irish. If I hadn't grown up five miles from the stadium and if my uncle hadn't been an usher so he could slip me some comp tickets I might have attached to someone else. I wanted to add in that post that the whole area is solidly behind Notre Dame. We're talking South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, and some lower Michigan towns like Niles. You can hardly go anywhere without seeing some reference to Notre Dame, and gameday is as sacred as Sunday. Having said that, I am green to the bone and casually keep up with ND as my second choice now.
  13. Silver, this one brings back childhood memories and it is damned emotional when you are there. The drum major is a showman ala the Ohio State dude. I saw my first Notre Dame game about 1954 and the band has the same entrance and effect on the crowd today as it did back then.
  14. The biggest obstacles to such a game would be the Double Ds - Denia Denton They are the D zeze!
  15. To me, the current Union is pretty decent. My frame of reference is the PREVIOUS Union which was still in operation when I first set foot on the NTSU campus in the early 1970s. The facilities bar has obviously been raised even higher.
  16. I hope this looks right on paper, because I AM a supporter and green to the bone. I would be more apt to show up to celebrate an accomplishment than to show up to hear how we intend to accomplish something.
  17. SWAG : something related to research university designation.
  18. I don't want to be a negative Nancy but I only see three games I'm vaguely interested in seeing. I'm on the fence anyway. Too many kicks in the nuts over the years can get you down. I'm going to have a Roberto Duran moment one of these years soon.
  19. If that is the real reason to part with a man that has built your program, what a load!
  20. Sincere congratulations to my adopted player Tevinn Cantly on a good, workmanlike season. He showed confidence as the season progressed and became a solid performer. I enjoyed his passionate display after one of his two TFLs against the MUTS. Tevinn will be back for another year and I am looking forward to seeing him have a standout year in 2012 on the D-line, where we need three or four standout performances next year. Tevinn, have a good off-season and get ready for another strong year. You are appreciated.
  21. A couple of observations: 1. Most of the people I saw on the alumni side were at least my age and enjoying the hell out of the game. 2. You young people will find out that water makes wood swell, which is another good reason for a 66-year-old man to attend a game.
  22. I attended the game. I am 66 years old. All one has to do is have the common sense to get the forecast, look at the real-time online radar, and go to the game prepared. I was in the Army and yesterday was a walk in the park. I hope to God you kids eventually grow a pair. DallasGreen is correct in his post, albeit a little long. Kudos to him for his on-target rant.
  23. Please allow me to join in and extend my gratitude and congratulations to all of you Seniors. We appreciate your hard work and sacrifices along the way.
  24. I do not want to see Coach C go anywhere. If he has to move on to fulfill his desire to run his own program, we would all want him to go to a good situation. UAB ain't it!!
