Thank you, Quoner, for your gracious deference. I've been in the trenches with Mr. Cantly and want to back him for his best year. We're not deep at his position but he has some help this season and he's healthy. God willing, I'll have a lot of good things to post about his performance this year. I have a lot of respect for your choice and in consideration for yielding to my request concerning Mr. Cantly I promise to throw my secondary support to Mr. Byrd.

The road to Cantly goes through ME! I have adopted him for the last two seasons and want him AGAIN. I suffered through the maturing process and his injuries, and now that he's poised to kick ass on a big-time basis you want to take him away. Shame on you!

We all know that black men and white men can coach; the race card should not have been played. I would have been happy with any of the top three candidates. The more I think about Tony Benford and the totality of his experience, the more I like what he brings to the table. Someone has to give the man a shot (he has earned it) and I will be proud to say that UNT recognized that and stepped up. If you saw the Larry Brown press conference on the sports last night you know why Benford wouldn't want to be "in waiting". Better he should wear a green tie and kick SMUt's ass! This is the best present I have received so far today on my 67th.

By my count, FB and WBB only account for two data points. Give me a blockbuster MBB hire and I'll concede that we have a TREND!

Coach, thank you so very much for the contributions you have made to UNT basketball. I have always admired your class. It is damned hard to see you go but you have a family and a career to consider and I know you will do a great job for the Tigers. It is not often that a person's dream job becomes available. Sincere best wishes for a long run at LSU. I have only one request...keep UNT on your schedule.
