I want a coach that will implement creative, cutting edge training techniques like the one below in an attempt to improve our line play:

Well, I was taught that green was always the symbol of hope (i.e., Sir Gawain, etc.) BUT I also worked for a C.E.O. that always said "Hope is for church!". Having said that, I'll pray for the 40 - 50 that probably make the trip. I'll be in church.

Beside making me nostalgic for my fraternity years, this movie always leaves me with some inspiration. This clip is worth three minutes of your time as you translate it to the current situation in UNT athletics.

MGB weekly prediction: MTSU will be too much for UNT to handle

I have always been impressed by coaches that could come into a program and get better results from the other guy's players. The key is being able to assemble a staff that can keep equal or better talent flowing through the pipe, IMO. I think that is why so many are focused on recruiting ability and Texas knowledge/ties as necessary for the next coach. In hindsight it looks like Mac was good at the former, not so good at the latter.

How many trips to the plate do you get before you're released and someone gets called up from AAA?

http://www.riceowls.com/genrel/joe_karlgaard_872366.html Here is another relatively young guy who seems to be doing a good job.
-
WAY too young! Never mind that he has demonstrated his competence...just for not very many years yet. The term I used to hear when downplaying a potential young hire was "Not enough scar tissue". That's what I thought until I looked him up. Different dude.

Thank you. I appreciate the "enlightenment" and will recalculate my position. On the positive side, this should give our students some good ideas!

I have "resume envy". Wonder what UCF is paying him? "Daniel "Danny" White (born c. 1980) is an American university sports administrator. He is the athletic director-designate for the UCF Knights sports program of the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida.[1] White held the same position at the State University of New York at Buffalo from 2012 to 2015.[2] Prior to his tenure at Buffalo, he served as the senior associate athletic director for Ole Miss. Danny has been heavily surrounded by college athletics throughout his life. His father, Kevin White, is currently the Director of Athletics at Duke University. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2002 where he majored in business administration and from Ohio University, receiving his master's degrees in both business administration and sports administration. White is currently pursuing his doctorate from the University of Mississippi."

Frenchy needs to use either a smaller font or a larger truck. Here is what he left off: 1913 - 2000 (ignoring 33 ties) 428W - 372L 53.5%; 88 seasons, 47 winning records 53.4% (there were some .500 seasons, not counted as winning years) 2001 - 2015 (to date) 65 W - 115L 36.1%; 15 seasons, 4 winning records 26.7% aka "Ricky Time" Again, a BIG thank you to Rick Villarreal!- 54 replies

Priceless!

Hell, let's give her a multi-year extension!

I knew you would see that right away. Compare that to, say, LA Tech, MUTS or Houston.

Sounds like we all need to relax with a little music and reflect on the truth of its message:

Several of us have been critical of RV's overall job performance, with emphasis on hiring record, scheduling and "dealmaking",MGC deficiencies and other administrative factors. I decided to compare some resumes of peers to RV's just to see how his record would stack up. Disclaimer: This was not done in a scientific manner, I just looked up some resumes from other institutions as they came to me and stopped when I got tired. There is no methodology, other than I tried to think of CUSA and some other schools of similar size to UNT. I did not reduce what I found to a matrix because some of the info is not objectively comparable. I am going to post the links and ya'll can check them out if you are so inclined and draw your own conclusions.
