IMO the comments in this thread relate to Chico the man, his integrity and character. If it was a performance evaluation, one could expect some critical remarks.

I get your impatience and excitement but I'm not convinced we're going to get a hire that soon. I confirm this from friends who are ISU alums. I've heard the same sentiments many times over Shiner. They really liked him and were pissed that he was fired.

There once was a head coach named Grass, whose offense was terribly crass. With a nudge and a wink, and a few moments to think, he would pull big plays right out of his ass!

Smatty is quickly burning through his political capital with me. I thought we could expect to see some action from him on all fronts but I am not seeing much.

I actually like the 2:30 kick this time. That probably optimizes the weather for the game, whatever it will be. I remember freezing my ass off for Thanksgiving Day Cowboy games in years past...you never know at this time of year. Early season/late kickoff...Late season (>11/15)/early kickoff. JMO.
