  1. Just for the halibut, I checked out Eastern Michigan University (EMU). They have a nice indoor football practice facility (need that up there in Upsilanti) and their stadium seats 30,200. All-time record game attendance was 25,009 in 1995 when they beat UNLV 51 - 6. They averaged 4,897 (16.22%) this year in the MAC! They played a bodybag game at LSU and lost at home to Old Dominion and Army; they went 1 - 11 for the season, winning only at Wyoming on the road. They scored 25.42 PPG and allowed 42.08 PPG. They had 157.8 YPG rushing (had a 1,000 yd rusher) and 222.2 YPG passing (QB EFF 125.82, 60.98%). Avg TOP was only 27:04. Does this story sound familiar to you? http://www.hustlebelt.com/emu-eagles/2015/10/11/9495715/emu-eagles-football-program-patience
  2. Agree. A column showing attendance as a percentage of capacity would be enlightening. What the hell is going on at Balls Taste? They were a powerful competitor not long ago. And EMU! Now there is a place for an AD with a vision to make his mark. Off 67% ?
  3. I'm watching the Div III championship game, St. Thomas vs. Mt. Union. Score is 49 - 35, Mt. Union with 3:13 left in the 4th Qtr. All offense, big passing plays mostly from both. A harbinger of this fall?
  4. Agree with the time frame. I am reminded of the old saying that the longest journey begins with the first step. Enough already! We know what needs to happen, let's start on the journey...yesterday.
  5. Shrinkage! It was a cold day when I made that video.
  6. I predict that a smile will grace his face and for the first time in years he will be at peace and at a loss for words.
  7. Here is a sneak preview of Ekeler's defensive team meeting.
  8. And I would too! Alas, I have no eligibility left (nor capability, either).
  9. I really do understand the importance of recruiting. A coach must have some talent to work with or he will look bad and apparently Ekeler can help in the recruiting area. I took Mike's comment to mean that he thought not enough attention is being paid to the defensive side of the ball and we're destined to be in weekly shootouts (also expressed by others). I'm going to be open minded and watch to see what alignments Ekeler puts out there.
  10. I hear you. For the record, I have no disrespect for his athletic talents. I was thinking last night about the news concerning the punk who got probation for four murders on an "affluenza" plea. I wonder if there is such a term as "athletuenza"? It could be utilized to defend those with stellar physical abilities who make demands, want it their way, and don't care to be accountable to teammates because they think they don't have to be. Wasn't there a small outbreak of that around here a while back?
  11. Having read the posts in this thread, we don't need Murray. His behavior exhibits signs of his being a locker room cancer. Remember Coach Littrell's emphasis on family, hard work and fun. This guy doesn't seem to have that kind of attitude IMHO.
  12. I had the same question. Some sort of "can't we all just get along?" appeal...to an individual clearly out of his mind? Maybe "Straighten up, young man...you could be expelled" ? Perhaps the approach of the dorm mother in 1964 who caught me bringing in a bottle of vodka wrapped in sweatpants and said "Now Honey, take that up to your room before you get caught with it!" ? In a lot of ways, a "university cop" has a very tough job and responsibility for lots of young stupids; he can't be just "one of the gang", there is too much on the line. JMO.
  13. If someone called me a "hose-dragger" I would grin and say "Thank you...thank you very much!".
  14. Agree. People say stuff like "shoot in the leg" not thinking of the unintended consequences, like where does that round go if it misses the perp's leg? What about innocent bystanders? That is another reason, besides stopping the threat ASAP, that the officer is taught to aim for the body mass.
  15. What about the overall scale of this development? Will it be yuuuuge?
  16. True this. But I once worked for a guy who told me "Always tell the truth so that when you need to lie they'll believe you."
  17. RV has priorities.
  18. I'm holding out for mileage reimbursement.
  19. Another point of view would be to accept the competitive salary. Then, to paraphrase an old joke, you could "hire the real pilot to fly the plane".
  20. Still wears his Mean Green tie! Terrible waste of his football talent. Coach Littrell, talk to Marcus and see if the two of you can get on the same page. We would like to see him with the Mean Green.
  21. Looks like Coach saw the values that most of us did in Perry and Patrick. Something special could be brewing indeed!
  22. Five grand a month to cover the bills; probationary six months to show progress or "AMF"; additional compensation to be agreed upon based solely on performance objectives met. Now that is what I would do personally. Realistically, that would not project a good image to our college football peers so we will have to find an alum that smiles, can shuck and jive, needs to rake in big bucks, and doesn't want to be accountable for results.
