  1. Not surprising. Law enforcement tells me that they are underwhelmed at the response from crybabies. You will not see me openly carry unless there is a need (ex: shoulder holster on a long drive, for comfort) because I prefer to maintain strategic advantage.
  2. Check out his video and you will see that he appears to be very athletic. This is a good kid. Welcome him to UNT, make him feel comfortable, and let him develop into a starter next year (2017).
  3. I really felt that the Ides of March would have been a fitting date to predict, but I didn't think he would last that long. My entry in Tasty's contest is March 7.
  4. Someone once told me a saying that is somewhat of a "Yogi-ism" but is very true and it applies here: "Players are where you find them."
  5. Exactly. Give me character, guts and heart. Talented guys who have been overlooked and have something to prove.
  6. Patience! It is not all going to happen overnight. Let's see what it looks like after the dust settles on signing day, then take the advice of that old ball coach, Stephen Stills:
  7. I see what you did there:
  8. Is there a big need to shoot our wad on February 3, and not hold some scholarships for later? This kid has apparently stuck with us and we should return the favor. Stay in touch and give him a scholarship if he can graduate this summer. JMO. I know it screws up the timing of assimilating him into the system but he would probably be a redshirt which will benefit us next year.
  9. Just wait until RV gives Benford'd an extension and then gives himself a bonus for retaining a coach in a major sport!
  10. To add insult to injury down in Dallas, the UTA A Capella Choir performed with the Dallas Symphony last night. The program was all Gershwin and featured soprano Janice Chandler-Eteme and bass baritone Kevin Deas performing music from Porgy and Bess. The UTA folks supported the two famous singers superbly...in fact, they kicked ass! The UTA A Capella Choir is directed by a turncoat UNT D.M.A. degree holder. Maybe she can coach basketball too! Do our choral performers ever venture off Fry Street? It was embarrassing to explain to the lady in the seat adjacent to mine (who was new to the area from Atlanta, GA) who and where UTA was.
  11. Your discourse captured the essence of Hell, Tasty. Congratulations and beaucoup +1s.
  12. At A&M, here's what comes down the pipe. At nUTSAck its what comes down the river.
  13. Grandchild's reaction after I read Perroni's article to her.. Perroni is right, you know. Seth Littrell will do one helluva good job with what is available to him. I support him and the new staff 100% but this year will be akin to taking a knife to a gunfight. If we are patient and support them, we will have a bowl eligible season in two years. JMO.
  14. You think a kid like that couldn't move the pile on the goal line? Looks like he could be nasty when necessary but footwork needs more work. JMO. Helluva future prospect.
  15. Yeah, it is no big deal if you don't have other things going on in your life that you need to schedule around. For example, if it IS April 23, that is the First Day of Passover and our Jewish friends might want to know that. Or, the Dallas Pops Orchestra features Chris Botti so if you have tickets for the 23rd, you may still be able to exchange your tickets for the 22nd or the 24th. Just little stuff like that. Let me add that I am particularly interested in getting the vibe from the spring game because I personally will not make my decision to renew MGC membership and four season tickets until after the game. I want to see what a Littrell-coached offense might look like and how the players he has to work with will fit into that. After more than 25 years, it is like making love to a skunk...I've about had all I can enjoy. So, while the Spring Game isn't H U U U G E, it is important to me and any others here of like mind.
  16. Those who "matter" will be there; this keeps out the riff raff (minute few).
  17. Agree with that concept. In this case, however, it reads like it wouldn't have made a bit of difference unless there were stringent curfew rules and a badass "dorm mother" on hand to enforce them. Do those things exist anymore?
  18. It is almost as if #retiredonthejob wakes up every day and says to himself "Self, what will happen here today?". Some people in this world plan ahead and schedule ahead to maximize the ability to participate in more activities and be more effective. Some people who have responsibilities for organizations learn how to manage them. Know what I mean, Vern?
  19. I find this extremely interesting. My main hobby for many years was astronomy and that was my first college major...then it dawned on me that I couldn't get through life without making a living. I hope some day we find out that this is more than just a natural phenomenon so I can meet my ultimate soulmate (picture below).
  20. From one MBA to another...the AD doesn't give a shit. We will know when they're damn good and ready to tell us. Such is the lot of the minute few.
