Yet, your rebuttal seems to damn a coach without proof. If proven, goodbye coach and releases all around. Until then, you transfer you sit and trophies for participation all around!

Why? What circumstances are you referring to that would warrant a release? don't like the coach or what? No problem...transfer...but sit like most every other transfer. No biggie.

Yep....caught those Matt. Sometimes it does take a ref a bit of time to make a call....maybe even to get the whistle up to his mouth. Sometimes he may be making sure he wants to actually make the call....and in the case of fouls outside the box, waiting to see if the advantage rule might apply. I did think the PK calls were a tad late as it appears you did as well. i always smiled when a coach or spectators would yell "finally" after I blew my whistle waiting to determine advantage...one specific time I waited and the coach was going nuts...until I showed advantage and his player then shot and scored. As I trotted back to midfield to set up for the next kickoff I asked the coach with a smile...."want me to call that foul now?" He too smiled broadly and shrugged sheepishly. I heard no gruff from him the rest of the game. It is funny sometimes. -

Terrible Gold Cup effort by this squad....losing to Jamaica was bad enough, but Panama and on PK's? Ridiculous! You make two of five PK's...... really? The effort on the PK's pretty much mirrored the effort this group gave the entire Cup. Absolutely zero passion. I really am shocked to see this lack of effort from a Klinsmann couched team...even if they, or many, are young players. Brooks was over matched the entire Cup. Just not ready for prime time...YET! And, Bradley? Where the heck was he the entire Cup? And Guzman? Wow...does he ever need more National Team experience. While Howard says he is coming back to the National team, is he the guy for the next World Cup? Is Guzman? I am sorry, but this was a terrible effort by the U.S. squad. Maybe it is in Klinsmann's plan to bring the team along slowly since the World Cup was played just last year and we have four to go. But, this was a terrible display from the first kickoff to the last missed PK....fitting that it was. Panama wanted this game and showed it. And they played hard even as they were short handed due to injury and cards. Good for them. pretty happy this tournament is over. U.S. ended up just where the effort they displayed warranted...out of the medals. -
Why? Because they are kids and can't budget? Come on...I am calling BS on that empty frig crap....as an undergrad my frig was pretty damn empty quite a bit of time and the only check I had coming in was from my part time job. They get a stipend already...if you can't budget...gee...go over to a friend's and grab some chow. I did..and my friend did at my place when his was running low. Sounds like college to me. Hey...news flash...you that poor? Stay in the dorm and eat in the dorm. Or, Learn some budgeting skills and use your more disposable money that many other college undergrads in a better manner...or try roommates or and extra roomie. You know...sort of like regular college students. Not having to pay for college would sure have taken some stress off me...poor little guys...so stressed by that extra academic help they get, help registering for classes, getting a stipend already...yep...damn stressful. News flash...don't play if it is so stressful and try your hand at paying for college...want some stress? Try that buckaroo! Yes, they work very hard. And, they get quite a payoff for all that hard work.

Meaning what? That there are exceptions to everything perhaps, so......your point? Still crap-ola and a pure entitlement mentality. Scholarship worth thousands and thousands, graduating without much or any debt, being treated to special academic counseling that regular students do not get, receiving plenty of housing and free meals....that's not enough? School needs to pay for tattoos, cell phones and dates now? look...if you are in favor of this crap...good for you. Your opinion and you are welcome to it. For me...this is pure crap and a symptom of a much bigger problem within our great nation. But, it is what it is....if you think this crap ends here, you are sadly mistaken.

So....you say they are employees working for a wage? More crap-ola. Entitlement mentality plain and simple.

Been wondering the same thing...but, you have to qualify for the Olympics and the World Cup. So these "older" guys with all that international experience could be worth that experience in the qualifying rounds. And, who knows, if he takes a younger team he may well need one or two of these older guys as role models and locker room "daddies". -
What a friggin' mess! Pure crap-ola. So, getting that scholarship isn't enough. Now the school has to pay for your cell phone and tattoos. Great! Now, the gulf gets even bigger between the programs who have donors willing to step up and actually act big time as opposed to those who just like to flap their lips. Perfect... Sad day in college sports. just another example of the entitlement mentality. Good grief.

agree, but that was the way it was pretty much from the start to the loss tonight for this team. Just played like they were going through the motions with no passion, no effort and no interest. Very disappointed in this group. Klinsmann will...or should...look to make some serious changes. Just appeared most of the guys on this team just don't care. Even in their wins hey we're lifeless. In my opinion, Bradley had a bad Cup as of course did Jozy (who was dropped after the opening group stage). Really don't need to go over it player by player, but bad passing and sloppy turnovers will be the lasting memory of this effort in this Gold Cup for this team for me. -
No, but we care...or should care...about North Texas.

The tailgate is being hosted jointly by athletics and the UNT Alumni Association. I just heard today that final arrangements are still being made. You may but tickets to both the game and the tailgate apart from the packages listed. I did just that as I am already a Mean Green Club member. I believe my tailgate ticket was $25. There is a pre-sale price and an "at the door price". The at the door price will be higher. I recommend you contact the UNT ticket office and purchase your game tickets and tailgate tickets in advance. Saves you some cash that way.

However many are there...we will have a great time supporting OUR Mean Green...win...lose...or draw. Sad to see so-called UNT fans wishing for small crowds and "throwing away" seasons before they even start just so they can say "I told you so" and be heroes to a bunch of haters. With "friends" like that UNT sure doesn't need any enemies. But, guess what....those players the FANS actually do care about with their donations, season ticket purchases and their presence at games will play hard and play to win in spite of those who feel the need to run the program down, withhold financial support and/or attend attend games. So be it 12 or be it 25,000, those there will be there supporting the Mean Green.
-
OK...thanks Lt. My "get-along-gang of like minded individuals" are never hard to spot because we are there supporting the Mean Green and not just mouthing off. That same group supports this program with their time, talent and treasure. So, sure, I am plenty good with those folks. None of us would ever consider that anyone was "throwing away" this season. You are fee to be there with your group as well....you won't be hard to spot either.

Nope...and hey, maybe he can head to TCU for their Sept. 12th home opener against that football powerhouse Stephen F. Austin. And I am still waiting for him to tell the players. The players, coaches and staffers do not believe this is a throw away season as indicated by that workout if nothing else. No athlete, coach or staffer ever gives up before a season even starts and good ones (we won't mention what SMU did last season as a program) never do even when the season goes badly. Only the so-called fans at UNT would label a season a "throw away" season even before the pads come on in the summer. You can be UNT90's apologist if you wish...you can stand by your man or be the Hillary to Bill in his "depends on the definition of what "is" is thing if you wish...but he said it and he owns it. No one in that Athletic Department from the top to the bottom believes this is a throw away season...only some "cough cough" fans who see everything at UNT through their dark and dreary half-empty glasses of swill. The Mean Green "throw away" season is anything but that as witnessed by how hard those players are working to meet the challenge. Me, I am plenty proud to be a member of the Mean Green Nation when I see stuff like this going on. Anyone wishing to characterize it as a "throw away" probably does not need a personal apologist speaking for them. The "everything is bad at UNT all the time" folks rarely need unsolicited support. Their minds are made up....it's all bad all the time. Easy.
-
If he could recruit the ladies to his team he'd be doing great. That's the only recruiting area where he has shown he can score!
-
After watching the workout live or the tapes of it......anyone think the players feel this is a "throw away" season like UNT90 does?
-
Great write up GMG24. Appreciate it vey much. One question....who are you referring to as Zero? I know...I know...should recall, but simply do not. Thanks.
-
Tell that to the players.

Former UNT Associate HC under Mike Peterson has landed at Okie State as an assistant on their women's team. Good to see UNT coaches landing on their feet. Good for her. Good luck Ashley. I am betting Coach Peterson helped her land that new gig.
