  1. I believe lots of profs in the College of Business support the Mean Green. In fact one, Tom Klammer, just recently was mentioned as having made the largest ever donation to Mean Green Athletics in the history of the school's internal giving campaign. edit: If I am not mistaken, Tom Klammer, made that donation this year as a retired prof as well.
  2. They aren't. At least mine aren't.
  3. Define "thing". Has-been "thing" maybe. Never-was "thing" perhaps. One-trick pony "thing", OK.
  4. Not talking about you Courtland. You are one of the special ones.....you live far away yet you still support the University and the Mean Green.
  5. yes, yes and yes. But, there are too many "lots of students" graduating with degrees in fields where they struggle to find meaningful and successful employment in their degree field. We have had that discussion, yes? I was discussing the fact that the UNT Law School, in my opinion, will be a plus for the system overall, that they are pointing at a different demographic of student and that, with a decent placement program UNT law grads might have a much better shot at employment after graduation. Yes, Sir, way way too many "Hammers" out there leeching off those who are out for a quick buck and think screwing someone or some company out of damages that are either non-existent, way more minor than reported or simply in an amount way higher than necessary. These sort of lawyers are blood sucking leeches for sure. Tort reform anyone? How about doing away with the sort of engagements where the plaintiff pays nothing unless their lawyer wins? Watch that cut down dramatically on this crap. OK...back to UNT Law.....
  6. Perhaps they are jealous that a school is looking at an entirely different demographic and bursting some of the false elitist bubbles surrounding some of those making up the Texas legal community. And, perhaps they don't like the competition. Same sort of reaction UNT gets when it bests these other elite attitudes in other areas as well. No one, at this point, knows how the UNT Law School will develop nor what the future holds. We will all see soon enough.
  7. That doesn't make us nice...it shows that the fan base overall is cheap! Those other schools fans put their money where their mouths are. UNT fans...just run their mouths and then stop supporting the program while thinking posting crap on a fan web site makes a difference.
  8. One of you constant whines.....party on. Everyone knows. But, you can enjoy your pity party while I enjoy Mean Green football. All a matter of perspective. Your glass isn't even half empty all the time...it's completely empty.
  9. Well, I think your father is wrong. It is a fantastic series. Let's add Air Force and Navy as well.
  10. OK, I read the title to this thread numerous times reading "SEC" and not "SBC". Imagine my surprise when I read that the "SEC" was considering Coastal Carolina and Eastern Kentucky. Yes, reading is hard sometimes!
  11. Pretty, talented and smart! What a combo. I am just wondering if she is really oldguystudent's kid. Congrats, oldguy....you did good.
  12. I have absolutely no clue what you just said. I have a Surface Pro running Windows 8 ... Which I think pretty much sucks ... I am on the Windows 10 upgrade list and will be upgrading soon. If I have to know all this sort of stuff, I just might be in a little bit of trouble.
  13. Thanks for posting this. Very good to see...
  14. Defense had been dominating the offense. So, perhaps this is a good sign. Did Kenny Buyers play?
  15. shorter than Andy Mac.
  16. As usual, I see a positive opinion...or just a fact...is not well received. And, from this time a new poster who has obviouly some experience in knowing what he is talking about. Is it any wonder that we cannot have any decent discussions about Mean Green basketball these days? It's sort of like another board where you either post that everything sucks with UNT or you just need not bother to post. Way to welcome a new poster folks. I'm guessing we don't get the pleasure of many more posts from this coach or experienced player. If you read the post, you know it isn't Andrew...and you know it isn't UNT90, so give the guy a break, open your mind a bit and perhaps enjoy a decent discussion of Mean Green basketball. It has been a long time since one of those has been seen around here. Thanks for trying Bullyballer and welcome aboard. Post about basketball more please, just understand that you will take a beating from the "usual suspects".
  17. the $1000+ donors who choose to sit there that is. I personally think floor seats suck. Bad view in my opinion, but they have them because some folks like them...not because I don't. What about creating media space "up top"? Where the film folks can be as well....up near the rafters. Why not? Is there some rule that they have to take up space where paying customers could be sitting? If we had enough paying customers that is....one day perhaps. So, prepare now, yes?
  18. I believe ticket booths are in the plans.
  19. So...they are FCS as the USA Today stated and are the first FCS to announce COA payments. Got it. thanks.
  20. Really...thought they just won the DII championship at FC Dallas Pary last season? The article...USA today... Said FCS I thought. Oh well, could have read it wrong. But, how did they get in the championship game? Is it North Dakota? Thought State was a lower division team not in the COA discussion. Call UNT90. He is always ready with some reason to be upset. He's got millions of them and if a situation doesn't fit he will make one up. Am sure he will loan you one or two.
  21. North Dakota State to pay stipends. NDS will....an FCS team....begin paying Up to $3,400 in stipend to each scholarship athlete under its COA calculations in all 16 sports. yep...now watch other mid major FCS teams do the same? Why...got to stay competitive on the recruiting trail. you knew this was going to happen once the D1's started this stuff.
  22. I have zero interest in bringing in a team like Missouri...zero! You guys interested in such just get in the car, on a plane and go watch these teams play. Or, go with those more interested in the OU-UT game. I want teams at Apogee that we have at least a 50% chance of beating...not Missouri, not Okie State, not Baylor, not TCU, Georgia or Alabama or A&M. And, I do not give a rat's rear end what other schools do or don't do. Give me at Apogee Navy, Army, Air Force, SMU, Houston, Tulsa, New Mexico, Ark St, LaLa, Vanderbilt, etc., etc. for out of conference games...you folks that want to see a blow out loss by UNT at Apogee just to be able to see some big time program are interesting. Why? Want to see those teams? Go to their stadium...I am headed to both Stillwater and Columbus, Ohio to watch some of these teams play. I do not want any of the four teams playing at Apogee until we have at least half a chance of winning and in so doing play a very competitive game if not a winning one. That can happen..it is not right now. I just don't get this line of thought. I see absolutely zero to be gained from getting blown out in front of an Apogee Stadium crowd more than half full by the visiting team. What in the heck is gained from that?
  23. Where oh where is the outrage from the conservative students? They should be out demanding that Wendy Davis not be allowed to spew her liberal views on "children, family rights, racial, ethnic and economic inequality and their impact on children" at UNT during next Monday's TedxUNT talk on campus. They should be out with petitions and holding meetings on how to disrupt her speech if she does get to speak, they should be out encouraging folks to block the entrances! For those interested...it is free and open to all...Gateway Center...Monday, 5:30-7:30pm. You must register to attend at http://www.unt.edu/transit/visitor_info.html (I hope I got that right). I mean, she might even get to spend some time with President Smatresk. That in itself is reason enough to protest and demand she not be allowed to speak, right? Heck, this is the second time she has been allowed to speak without protest. What is wrong here? Just being more than a little sarcastic here, folks, but the irony is really funny...at least to me! And, yes, I do know she is not Governor. Thanks.
  24. I agree with you on both points. But, I also must say that there is a part of me that likes it when the bad guys kill each other. Just think of the resources saved in not having to pay to capture, prosecute and house these folks in prison. They might be seen as doing society a favor. OK, I know...Bad. But, just being honest about how I feel about these thus and killers.
